List of services that we're waiting for the authorities to announce:
68, TS3, TS6, 500.
(If I have missed any, pls ownself add to this page)
Many short trips were announced recently. I've a feeling there's surge in demand in the East, and this could be a measure before DTL3 opens.
Originally posted by gekpohboy:There seems to be many short trips launched, prior to the opening of Downtown Line stage 3. Not sure if there's a surge in demand, or they are doing this to ramp up the demand for the Downtown Line when it opens...

This goes to show that if a bus service plies along a certain road, it will stop at the bus stop along the road. Yeah. Cheers. Thanks.
To be honest, I am surprised 129 will be amended to ply additional bus stops. The route is already very long, and very profitable.
Anyway, one bus stop won't make a difference to the travel times and travel fares. Commuters will still take 129 because there's no better alternative.
The additional bus stop is probably made at the request of the people living at Gambir Ridge and the surrounding areas.

Hi mr gekpohboy, why do you write 'the route is already very long and very profitable?'
The distance before and after amendment to ply the extra stop does not change at all. So nothing to do with 'the route is very long'.
After GCM, the fares collected go to govt. Not operator. So profitability of the service does not matter. Cheers. Thanks.

Actually it does. If the route is not profit-making or making big losses, LTA will need to rationalise it as the Govt is still accountable to the taxpayers as it is being subsidized by taxpayer monies. This is why Khaw Boon Wan say need to raise fares to reduce taxpayer subsidies to the bus industry.

I wonder is
still active in this forum?more than a month not here already
I guess something happened to BusAnalayzer, that's why he is not active in the forum.
He is probably working on a project, preparing for his wedding, or making love with his girl friend.
Whatever it is, let us give him some time to finish whatever he is doing.
Once everything is over, I'm sure he will return to SGforums.

Can stop at the last stop of AMK Ave 5? AMK residents can transfer there.

That's an April Fool's Day joke. Posted on the first day of April. There's even a disclaimer at the bottom of the picture to say that it's a joke.
As for your request, I really don't know what kind of demand is expected in 2112. Maybe by then nobody will be taking the buses, or even travel on public transport. With so much technology advancements from now to 2112, there may not even be a need for car, bike, bus, boat, plane or train, as everything can be transported via teleport.
I mean, just look at the way people travelled in 1922, which is 95 years ago. 95 years ago, the bus drivers were wearing shorts, and back then, nobody was using the computer, or carrying mobile phone.
If things were so different 95 years ago, it's going to be very different 95 years from now, in 2112, that it's really hard to guess what kind of demand is expected in 2112.

I know. I mean if that route was real, it should stop at the last bus stop of AMK Ave 5.
