The area around Buangkok MRT has very poor connections to the rest of Sengkang. 102 is the only bus service covering Anchorvale/Fernvale that stops there, but it doesn't cover everything.
There is no direct link from Buangkok MRT bus stops to any part of Rivervale, other than the flats along Punggol Rd near TPE, served by 27. Pax have to walk all the way to Punggol Rd on the other side to take 119.

156 can do Clementi <> Marina Center via Botanic Gardens, Stevens, Newton.
Another service that operates with less than 20 pax between Bukit Timah and Macritchie. But is useful at Sixth Avenue and Clementi Ave 2.

I am pretty sure that compassvale and tampines concourse int will not last long after buangkok and tampines north int is build . Singapore has limited land space, i dont think the government will waste such a big plot of land.

Hi mr Tranzort08, I think otherwise. The two extended interchanges are built to complement the existing bus interchanges.
Previously I read that the tampines north interchange will be built at tampines st 62. There will also be a mall at the interchange area. This is to supplement the tampines north area. It will be considered another district, distinct from current tampines interchange. Cheers. Thanks.

I agree with you. It is a temporary solution. NEL will soon have Bidadari and Buangkok and then Compassvale can go. Most of Tampines Concourse services may get edited to Tampines North in future. So Concourse will give way for future residential/commercial development.

I will say Tampines Concourse will closed down after Tampines North completed.39/129 will be amended back to Tampines and svc like 18 & 19 might start from Tampines North in future.Loyang is the best candidate to take over T North and Punggol to be given back once there is a new Sengkang depot.
Compassvale i wont think it would be demolish since Sengkang Int is too small.

Hi mr carbikebus, don't think tampines concourse will close. Tampines concourse is constructed due to super congestion of buses at tampines int after introduction of BSEP services like 4, 20, etc.
Tampines north is a whole new town conceptualised by the govt. it is supposed to be self-sufficient. 21000 homes will be built in the current five years up to 2022 together with a new mall at tampines st 62 together with the bus interchange. These new flats will need more bus services and unlikely to draw on the current mess at tampines int where it is already serving a large mass of people. Moreover, new flats at tampines north planning area will need more services and the tampines int cannot support. Don't forget tampines concourse int can only serve 5 bus services and 3 of them are already used. Left a a pathetic 2 which cannot support tampines north 21000 homes.
As for compassvale, you should be right. Will not demolish irregardless of whatever buangkok is coming up or not. Main reason you also nail it. Sengkang int below compassvale heights condo is too small. They definitely need additional parking lots. Moreover, the compassvale int only can support 5 BSEP services. 1 is already used up for 374. Left 4 more services which will be added once fernvale area is further developed.
The trend now is to expand bus interchanges as the govt is planning to pluck more people into various estates by means of citizenship over the years.. For those open air types, it will be easier. Examples are upper east coast, hougang, Punggol. For new estates, they are checking sites for interchanges and commercial centers.
