Things to expect in 2017

SMRT has started replacing the "to Joo Koon (2)" signs at East West Line stations with the new "to Tuas Link (2)" sign.
The "to Joo Koon (2)" is still there, but as a sticker covering the new sign.
Previously, I predicted that the Tuas West Extension may open on 16 April (Sunday).
If my prediction is correct, the announcement should be made next week (16 March, Thursday).

Dude, go prepare for your NS rather than making multiple predictions one after another. TWE will definitely open by the end of June, just wait it out. Don't need to be so hyper-excited. Unless you are a direct beneficiary who commutes on it everyday after it opens.

Honestly, I have a feeling this time round SBS Transit will get it, given that it has 44 years of experience, and it offered the lowest price.

The Bukit Merah package may also be in favour of SBS Transit. This package consists of many roadside terminals, and only SBS Transit has experience running routes that terminate at roadside terminals.

Lowest bid doesnt guarantee anything yet,BCM is all about adhering to LTA needs not by experience.Hope you get that.If not the first two contracts will goes to SBST/SMRT instead.

If my prediction is correct, tomorrow morning they will announce the opening date of Tuas West MRT stations. At the same time, although unlikely, they may also announce Jurong Region Line as part of the "package".

Actually, it's based on calculation. If I'm not wrong, the current train fleet started testing at around mid-February. Back then when Pioneer Joo Koon opened, trains tested around two months before opening. So, based on that, if testing began in mid-February, by mid-April the stations should open already. That's how my prediction came about. It's based on past observations. Those who witnessed Marina South Pier opening in 2014 may also have similar calculations. Tuas West Extension opening soon. I know the "June opening" information is from the SMRT platform staff, because got one of them also tell me that the stations will open in June. I believe that's to mislead people, for whatever reason, probably because they don't want people to guess correctly the date. April opening is quite likely. The best period is after Good Friday and before Labour Day. Plus some buffer for breakdown during the initial period, the best possible opening date is actually around 16 April.

As for the Jurong Region Line, actually I'm only expecting it at around September, after all the engineering studies are completed. But, the announcement would probably be made during a visit to a station about to open. Just nice Tuas got station opening, and Tuas and Jurong are quite closely related. So, I feel that there's a possibility that they may actually announce Jurong Region Line together with Tuas West Extension opening date. Nonetheless, the chances are quite slim.

We are talking about which PTO can best manage Yishun and AMK feeder service and some key trunk services like 24, 70, 76, 130, 133, 135, 851, 852
Can you imagine the disappearance of bendy on Yishun feeder/intratown and use of B9TL

Boi ah, its great that u have good observation skill, but u know a lot of us has already grown tired of the LTA waiting game (like the case of compassvale int), so for ppl like me i wont look forward to its opening till june. In fact for now we rather spend time keeping a lookout of the Seletar package winner (and again another waiting game)

Seletar package winner still unannounced. TS3 route details unannounced (though i feel it will be released at a much later date with TS6 to make press release easier?). Will the service 68 that was discussed previously be rolled out this month? Hopefully all these 3 things will come true in april, if not we must wait and wait and wait >:(
