LTA's Double Deck massive tender has been extended to 8 Feb 2018.
Volvo "launches" the B8L on LTA's original closing date, talks on their press release as though they are the incumbent:
http://www.volvobuses.com/en-en/news/2018/jan/volvo-buses-introduces-new-euro-vi-double-decker.html
Looks like Volvo is not going down without a fight with MAN/STK. But I am inclined to think the odds are still not in their favour.

Interesting.. I wonder why the tender has been extended to 8 Feb.
Moreover, this tender does not have a fixed delivery date. Does not seem to me that LTA is in a rush for buses..

Most probably pricing factors but i still think MAN has the edge.

Massive bunching of 3 svc 45 DDs at 8.10am at Serangoon Ave 2 towards AMK Depot. One of them was the last bus on 45A that downroute to AMK Depot. Such wrong scheduling to have all 3 of them arrive at the same time at Serangoon MRT and all departed together. 1st bus had 40-50 pax, 2nd DD had around 10-15 pax and the 3rd DD had around 5 pax on board.

Next bus was a SD after 17 minutes. Yes the 45A downroute that becomes 45 towards AMK depot should have waited 4-5 minutes to pick up passengers. This is a common practice in many cities such as London, where buses wait to create a proper spacing between them. Especially with 45A with no pax on board, should definitely have waited. Confirmed SD after 17 mins cannot tank the load.

Wait where ? Park along the road side for 5 mins? N then get stomp for holding up traffic along a busy 2 lane road?

svc 116 should get 2 S-shift DDs and operate with a fleet of 6 SDs, 2 DDs.
AM definitely will be well utilized between Serangoon North and Serangoon MRT and Hougang 1 and Hougang MRT. With this, they can remove 72A already.

Should be 1 full day and 1 split shift DD..Fleet should be rotate weekly so every BCs got chances to drive DDs.Sundays maintain 5 buses but stay with 2 DDs
