124 will do well with DDs. With new flats coming up in Telok Blangah, loading will increase to HF and loading to Chinatown is alreay heavy. Instead of adding more buses on road, will be good to have a mix of DDs/SDs once trees are pruned.
Wah if SBST start to take MAN buses,Then only left Go-Ahead still with only two bus models 😂😂😂And i could be joining TTS by October.

borderline WAB.
Hi guys I’m back after so long, sorry I was very busy and didn’t have the time to churn out one long reply pertaining all the qns that was asked during the KBW minister talk in my sch.
So someone apparently saw him on the MRT. And it really seem true that it is indeed he himself, coz he shared to us that he took the MRT frm his workplace at labrodor.
Pertaining to the qns, I sincerely apologise not tending to everyone’s queries during the talk coz there was this person who asked a really long and deep qns for the minister. I didn’t really ask questions that pertain to the BCM as he did not mention a single bit during the speech, so I assumed that it was not apt to ask him about it. Other than that, there was a question about whether the safety of commuters is compromised when the train doors closed very quickly on commuters, endangering them. The minister replied that they are still working it out to recalibrate the door closing time so that there will be enough time to allow passengers to alight and board safely.
Another question which was in-line with his presentation was about the future of transport in Singapore. The question was about whether the use of autonomous vehicles would pose a threat to the current people, such as bus drivers who will be likely to lose their job when driverless buses start hitting the roads. The minister replied that while jobs are lost, there will be other new ones that will be created. He made use of the analogy of the rickshaw pullers back in the old days of Singapore, as they were challenged by the rise of taxis and smth along that line.
Finally, if you guy are curious about the complicated qns that someone else ask and I myself was also confused, it is something about the problem of the rise of income gap and the gini coefficient of Singapore getting worse where the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer in the future, and something to do with the transport fares being unaffordable; and how will Singapore make its people take more public transport. Basically the guy shld be asking abt something in relation to the economics syllabus or smth. IIRC the minister said something along the line of the implementation of car-free Sunday is one of the few measures to encourage ppl to leave their cars at home. It’s rly something along this line as the qns was too complex. Sorry about that!
That’s all I guess, so yah, once again so sorry for not being able to attend to all of your questions!
Anyways, 2 observations made that day:
1. My friends didn’t know the 5 MRT lines are operated by SMRT and SBST. They thought all is by SMRT so ignorance………….?
2. The minister shared that stats for the performance of the trains kilometres b4 5 min delay data, and the rankings are NEL, DTL, CCL, NSL, EWL. So it shows that something is really really wrong wif SMRT…!
By right, public transport should have the very basic; no frills. Like the budget airlines.
I don't understand why they want to have USB charger, television screen, third door, etcetera.
All these additional features may add on to the costs, and cause the transport fares to increase.
To prevent that from happening, we may want to charge extra for the additional services.
For example,
- Exit via third door, charge additional 50 cents.
- USB charger, charge $1 per use. Pay and activate via QR code, using mobile phone app.
As for the TV screen, that one can only recover from advertisements, and other sources of revenue.
As for the questions asked in SGforums, most of them can be explained with "data analysis" and "economies of scale".
Don't worry about the bus capacity. The demand is always constantly tracked by LTA, via some kind of data analysis system. If the demand exceeds a certain threshold, they will increase the capacity. That's the beauty of technology.
For more information, research on "Internet of things (IoT)".
By the way, this is "Power Engineering", not "Computer Engineering". Computer Engineerig is about robotics and automation, whereas Power Engineering is about observing trends and providing adequate capacity.

Same goes to my friends. They think MRT/SMRT are the same things. Xd
Not very surprising la...they all just care abt their destinations anyway

Wife Malay,This guy ever went to GAS for unknown reason
27. Think I see him before but it was just a pass-by
While driving svc 119 just now,A senior citizen ask me why Go-Ahead only got Masidi single decker and Vovo double decker.Last time under SBST sure have 3-4 bus models.😂😂😂
Sure someone wil ask this question and more to come as some commuters from punggol and pasir ris wil feel bored n lack of freshness even though majority might not care this fact that GA only use citaros and b9tl no other varieties, just like having same kind of dishes for meals everyday.
If i were the commuter staying in either punggol or pasir ris i wil ask the same question too and feel unfresh when none of any smrt bus models included in the package, too.
My preference of operators in SG:
SBST
TT
SMRT
GAS
