Heard this will be the last year for NWAB bendy buses..Yes even the Volgren G and Habit have to go..I believe SBST DM3500 and VSO also gone case by this year.

Yes, both Sungei Seletar tender and retirement of bendy buses coincides at the same time. So, there is a possibility that they may retire all bendy buses except MAN A24, and it will be time by 2020 for WAB accessibility.
Look. Only 6 Hispano MK2s survived today (987, 994, 995, 996, 997, 999). All the rest are gone.
Possibility for DM3500s. SBS does not want to keep any of them. SBS also cancelled their JB-regged plans.
Tridents will be the next, they follow according to lifespan till either 2018, 2019, 2020 or latest 2021. This is a "2002 built bus".
B10TLs are too early to say, which is being extended till 2023. I believe B10TL had a 2/3 advertising by now ("Resident Evil 7").
If LTA does not want MAN A24s, time to carousell them :) 858 will go to Changi Airport Terminal 4 to ease overcrowding and get double deckers.
Heard that there is an Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in Singapore soon. LEZ has started in 2008 and said it is "Euro 1 and above", then 2014 upgraded to "Euro 2 and above".

Isn't it all NWAB buses then.. (If you include the Dennis Tridents)

The LTA says all buses must be retrofitted with Euro 4 turbo engine by 2020 onwards.
Oh,,
We are starting to see the effects in latest tender awards, as the revised proposal would be Singapore wide for buses.
Would seem that LTA are basically lumping the fleet into 3 groups: compliant; needs upgrading; replace before 2019 start.
This seems to have replaced the age related existing buses, where individual years don't seem to be that relevant to fleet cascades. It appears any euroV bus is likely to be upgraded and about 2000 euroIV buses. Whats more looking like no more euroIV awards (modifications will be current euroIV buses where contract ends after 2019) I am also assuming a couple of hundred euroV will leave because of contract losses.
Therefore it appears any bus built 2001 -2007 is to be replace consecutively (Dennis Tridents, B10TLs, B9TL CDGEs) at first. Any K230UBs or OC500LEs will also be replaced as well.
Difficult to be exact but looking like about so many buses will be replaced by ULEZ start which is higher than 655 average replacement per year (9200 buses divided by 14 years). Already have 550 new buses for tender wins in first 5 months of 2017 (details page 162 of Outstanding requirements thread)
Euro 2:
Euro 3:
Euro 4:
Euro 5:
All other buses.
O405G Habit Batch 2,Volgren G,Tridents and VSOs is Euro II,CDGE B9TL is Euro III
VO/DM3500/Habit 1st Batch/MK II is Euro 1.OC500LE is Euro V.
Scania first batch is Euro IV.
Even if they scrap VSO/Tridents/O405G/DM3500/VO now they got nothing to lose.
How many God damm long years they have been on the road and earn revenue?
I would be very happy if the lifespan is shortened to 14 years instead.Technology change rapidly.

Such as, electric buses and the like? How's the BYD K9 trial so far?

I'm not really a fan of full electric/CNG/Hydrogen stuff especially for our tropical climate.
But for a start I don't mind new tech Hybrid(Diesel/Electric) and got override function to full diesel when battery is going low.Problem with electric buses if the batteries getting low the bus will be slow like shit beside taking a huge space inside the buses.
BYD can be successful in Europe due to their climate,Malacca and Indonesia already rejected so many electric buses which is quite costly to maintain. So i feel BYD won't stand a chance in our public transport for now. Those BYD Taxis are already headache and please don't add to buses.

Gotta agree, since the K9s in Europe are mostly NAC..

You understand me bro,Even UK Citaro performance is great than our Citaro.
Thats why TT BCs got the advantage over GA..They got chances to drive A22 & Enviro500 rather than sticky to Citaro and B9TL...
