i really feel that this bus would serve 75 first...maybe bcos that svc full of a22s, but maybe also 178. What u think?

4002 is the 3 door A22? And 5999 is the extended version of A95 with three doors?

This forum included. Everybody was praising the A95 and saying how the ADL is "unsuitable" and "impractical", and now?
Welp I'm not sure how the feedback was at the roadshow, plus I'm not there, so meh
I haven't really experience the ride on 5999Z though. But looking at how the rear upper deck gate operates, and the positioning of the exit doors is, I guess it's isn't really ideal for me.

I always thought the MAN prototype is indeed less practical than the ADL.. But I guess majority like their buses packed w new special features and design.. Now regretting it already?

Wakakaka,ST mah.If go by proper channel,Many would prefer the ADL design.Make more sense to have 3 doors.
I would rather want MAN Germany to design a proper 3 door A95 bus based on their A39 14.8M long DD city bus . Why ? If you talk about comfort and reliability , MAN is your best bet not Alxender.
OR
Just shift the engine from left to right and make it tranverse ( A39 engine is on the left ) , leaving that space for a 3rd door , SG road style .

MAN designing from scratch? Wait long long...
Did you see the lobbyists pointing out Gemilang is making "incremental" improvements?

A39 is 13.7m

Welp, just tried riding 5999Z for a few stops, around 6+ towards JEI. Not very pack from Orchard to Chinatown.
A few passengers alighted from the front, that includes me. Because there's no point waiting for the bus to stop, then you start to come down. And I believe that has been the habit of everyone. Mainly afraid that you can't alight, and also that the driver don't have much time to wait for you.
That upper deck barrier spoilt the mood🤣It would be better if LTA trial that 13m ADL also...Might be different story then...

Haiz
Just trial the ADL already
I suspect the three doors single deck is RC2 320 LE instead of A22.Should opt for 12.5m.
As usual,SMRT get the good stuff.

Read the link from LTA:

Any idea what are they going to test for during the trial?
I guess they will observe the dwell time at bus stop, as well as the loading on the bus.
If the dwell time is about the same, but the bus ferry less people, maybe it's better to reject the idea of three-door buses, and stick to two-door buses.
Anyway, if this is all they want, I don't see why they need to trial so long, on multiple routes, when they can just borrow a three door bus from the European market, run it on any bus route, compare the variables with that of the normal two-door buses, and return the bus to the manufacturer afterwards.
Especially now since Pound drop a lot, and may drop further. It's cheaper to borrow a bus than to create a bus for trial.
Unless, they already have the intention to commission the bus after the trial, and this trial is actually just to test the people's acceptance of three-door buses...
If only MAN can custom A22 chassis into 12.3m and fully Low floor then its logical to have 3 doors..If 12.8m A95 is quite successful (Minus the barrier),Why not 12.3m 3 doors?
