but we can see the no of paxes left behind at the previous bus stops...when such 3 door A22 are deploy on 913/903/912 etc etc...
Can just install 10 priority seats then others is standing area,Can ask STK to provide mat for senior citizens...Wakakaka
accordingly to news report, seating capacity of this 3 door A22 is 24 only.. plus another 66 standees capacity.. current A22 is 35 seat....
whether it can squeeze 66 standees is another issue..
Do you guys think that LTA will purchase the 3 doors A22 in future?

I dont think the 12m SD 3 Door trial will be successful. The ratio of seating passengers to standing passengers is too small. One bad thing about bendies was that it's high capacity involves more standing capacity than seating capcity.
3 Door DD could help improve the efficiency and layover time and also be able to provide more seating capacity so it is kind of best of both world. SO I think this one will succeed. Only down side is the need to go up and come down, which may not be the best for our aging population especially for short distance commutes. But for trunk routes, this bus will be very good to improve passenger flow.
Feeder best option imo will still be a mix of 18m 3door buses and 12m 2door SD. 12m 3door DD mixed with 12m 2door SD will be next best option.
For trunks, 12m 3door DD mixed with 12m 2door SD is good. With more MRT connections, i believe DDs can compensate abit of capacity to have an extra staircase to speed up layover times. Eventually Singapore can work towards 3Door DD fleet

Let me remind you what LTA wants to achieve - BETTER WAITING TIME . What this means is that LTA will tend to favour buses with more doors to let more passengers to disembark more quickly than before . Number of seats ? Yeah they count too but LTA main priority is WAITING TIME . The faster the passenger get out of the bus the faster the bus leaves the bus stop and picks up more passenger .
spotted the 3 door MAN A22 together with 3 facelift MAN A95 with rego plate 2 days ago at STK lakeside

Sadly, they aren't working smart
Instead of giving incentives to driver for meeting a certain target of being on time, they extend the journey time. Which makes driver drive slowly.
But imo, the A95 3-door DD isn't ideal yet. More waiting time is needed for passengers going down, thanks to the extra gate. Would prefer them trying out the ADL 3 door version though..might be better than this A95.
ADL's 3 door DD has a very weird point. how to fit the engine?

Hmm.. That's funny, given how the public were the ones themselves who voted for the A95 back then, now regretting on their decisions?
This forum included. Everybody was praising the A95 and saying how the ADL is "unsuitable" and "impractical", and now?

That’s not the issue. At least, not to me. Many still prefer the A95’s door design. It’s the kay kiang barrier that is the problem.
Wrights = Upgraded CDGEs
E500s = Wrights with rear plug sliding door
A95s = Modern WAB-ed VO3x's

Swiss Postauto ordered 13m three doors Enviro500 sucessfully with engine
They favoured MAN because the authorised dealer is ST a Temasek company

Thank you for speaking my mind.
It still baffles me how the MAN A95 has at least 6 exterior variants in Singapore alone. Whatever happened to standardization?

And passengers will continue not moving to the rear at the lower deck...

Why can't they use SG1750?
Originally posted by carbikebus:Why can't they use SG1750?
because 4 header is for prototype.
only exception is 5999, something went wrong

huh?
what happened to 5999? and is 4002 the same?
SG4xxx is reserved for Single Decker Demonstrator & MAN ND323F 12.8m is a Double Decker Demonstrator.

Transperth style fleet numbering is not designed to be that logical in the first place.

what I meant was 4xxx header is supposed to be prototype bus, the 12.8m double decker supposed to have a 4xxx header. but somehow it was given 5999
