Nowadays, theres news about self-driving bus. To anticipate future & stay relevant, Im creating this thread for everyone to talk about it.
Some benefits of self-driving bus:
* air-con comfort to train station.
* precise arrival timings.
* can deploy based on demand & traffic.
From @NTUsg: "#NTUsg & @LTAsg to pilot #selfdriving buses on NTU campus as part of SG’s #driverless vehicle push. https://t.co/gURVwaJvHn"
Self driving bus - hmmm . I think it will just drive up to the bus stop and crash right into it and fail on its first day .
Why self driving bus ? Does LTA really want to dismissed all the bus captains in the future ? Those bus captains need a job to feed their family . By removing a human based job like driving - LTA is limiting the no. Of drivers jobs available in the future .

Today 6:45pm channel 8 got talk about driver-less bus. From their Facebook: "æ— äººé©¾é©¶å·´å£«è¯•éªŒè®¡åˆ’å°†é¦–æ¬¡åœ¨æœ¬åœ°å±•å¼€ã€‚é¢„è®¡åŽå¹´å¼€å§‹ï¼Œæä¾›çŸç¨‹è½½é€æœåŠ¡ã€‚æ— äººé©¾é©¶å·´å£«æœ务,国人å¯ä»¥æŽ¥å—å—?é”定 #å分访谈"
Do not worry. Driver-less buses are safe, even safer than driver-less cars & trucks. They got line to follow & sensors to avoid collision.
To those who think they can avoid paying fares on driver-less bus, dream on. They can always create ERP-like machine to take money from us.
Driverless buses – Will it work in Singapore? Will you dare to take it? Will bus captains be out of jobs?🚌Here's what some people in Singapore think.

@sphasiaone: nuTonomy restarts driverless tests after crash ebx.sh/2gFshwC
"Start-up nuTonomy has resumed trials of driverless cars after a traffic accident involving one of its vehicles on Oct 18. The company has improved its software system after an investigation into the accident."
It's an interesting proposition with a lot of potential, but we still have a long way to go in terms of safety testing etc. That being said, I'm excited for when it becomes a reality!

And have ticket barriers/doors that close faster than you think:
