Originally posted by orange28:It shouldn't be too difficult if there are designated bus bays (or just a regular bus stop?) for the existing bus serivces (like the underground ones in Terminals 1,2,3) right outside Terminal 4, and a direct exit to PIE/ECP from Terminal 4 - that way the buses would all do T3>T1>T2>T4 (skipping the existing bus stop right before the slip road to PIE) before heading out.
Given how T4 was not meant to be a "budget terminal" (otherwise why tear down the old terminal?) it is likely that public buses would directly serve it, unlike previously when travellers have to walk 5-10 mins from the bus stop along Airport Blvd to/fro the Budget Terminal ...
Having DD- or bendy-friendy stops at T4 wouldn't solve the problem of HCs not being able to serve T1/2/3, as it would just transfer the crowding to the T2/4 shuttle bus...
Still support the idea of having "shuttle express" services from designated MRT stations for now.
Today 4 sv 27 Citaros bunch at TPE bus stop at 18.30 hours. Saw with own eyes.
This was the frequency interval when I checked the app
21, 21, 21 (the fourth bus wasn't even registered on the app), 16, 17, 21 (these are next set of buses). By the time these buses would come to TPE stop first bus would be delayed and 3rd bus will catch up with first bus and guess will be similar scenario.
Frequency unreliability and bunching are major issues with long looping services and this is where airport services usually become really unreliable on return leg.

(Not referring to original post)

Seletar Airport to open a new terminal by 2018 with many airlines shifting there. Guess that would be when 102 enters Seletar

Maybe some of the narrow bodied aircraft airlines

What? Where you got this news from?

Yes they think of cutting services like 76 and 21 (rumors). But the ones that need some reorganizing are Changi Airport services that have super long looping points and often get delayed with all the security checks and clogging around basements at Changi.
Needless to say it is such an inconvenience to commuters who have to wait for long time for a bus and then 3-4 buses arrive together.

Yes read it. Thanks for the update.
It will be only small planes and private charters. So the traffic of passengers may not be very high but I believe this development will come with other developments that should increase commuter ridership.
So by 2018, the area may be served by 102, 103, 117. By then maybe 102 is extended to Punggol via Punggol-Seletar Link and Punggol Northshore/Nibong areas, while 117 goes to Punggol via Seletar Circus, Punggol Matilda.
For others who want to read the news, here is the link.

I have a feeling... Existing services calling at Jln Kayu will divert to the airport...
If this is so 858 becomes the only svc to serve two airports...

Ha ha.. shouldn't touch 858 at all.. already they need to do something with this service.
I think 102 will be the one.
3 service should be enough given that 103, 117 still have lot of capacity to accommodate.
102 will provide good direct link to Sengkang and Hougang estates.

Hi mr SMb1368T, they already have it planned many years back. Then they liaise with the relevant authorities over time and introduce services slowly one at a time to seletar aerospace area. First 103, then 117. They also introduced 102 first to cover HDB areas especially the ongoing upper serangoon area and satisfy Sengkang west area (due to MP request) and loop at jalan kayu. Later on, will move it into seletar. Nicely planned. All will fall into plan nicely. Cheers. Thanks.

What I was thinking also...

Let's hope that there won't be another 3.9m terminal at Seletar airport.

Won't. I am sure. All new infrastructure is DD friendly. They won't make this mistake again.
Seriously Seletar need more than that,It should have two terminals instead..14 parking bays for T1 mixture of wide and narrow bodied ac,T2 18 bays with all narrow bodied ac including private jets..Changi Airport is already bursting.

Too much alr... Keep in mind CGA still have T4 and T5...
I think next time T2 may become full scale "budget terminal" when SQ shifts its T2&3 operations to T5... And T2 by itself is alr more than enough for all the narrow bodied
And if not enough, just use T4 lor...
