Given the current models in SG for BCM which would you want the LTA to take since it is most probably only taking one?
1. A95
2. E500
3. B9TL
((Btw this is also my sequence from most to least desirable. You can do sequence or just choose one.))
Already getting use to taking those b9 for years. I'll go for existing model as I'm already use to it.
I wouldn't mind for B9TL but they should update the next batch(if any) to look more A95 like with silver poles,announcement system,Mascatd doors and also Usb Port.But better is just MAN A95
In terms of Maximum GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight), Volvo B9TL has the highest capacity (25,400kg), followed by MAN DD (25,000kg) and ADL Enviro500 (24,000kg).
In terms of Engine Power, Volvo B9TL uses the least power (231,167W), followed by MAN DD (235,000W) and ADL Enviro500 (250,000W).
In terms of price, ADL Enviro500 is the cheapest (~S$383,950), followed by MAN DD (~S$400,000) and Volvo B9TL (~S$545,300).
I choose Volvo B9TL. Although it is the most expensive, it has the highest capacity and uses the least power.
A95, B9TL, E500
I thought A95 was at least $600k brand new?

Man A95 for me . Love the comfort and ride suspension . The A95 damped the bumps well better then the volvo did . Both volvo ( batch 4 and above only) and MAN interior is quiet however the A95 is slightly more quieter than the B9tl just slightly. The MAN A95 can seat more passenger compare to the b9tl given that they both have the same length 12m and height. The A95 has more torque (1600nm) while the B9tl has (1400nm) - the 200nm actually helps the A95 to climb hills better , just slightly better lah .

Got to agree to this one . The 1st gear feels so torqueless like there is no acceleration at all .

My friend who work at Seaport say,Those SBST/SMRT new buses before inspection was very fast,Come to LTA haizz

Seriously can LTA make this kind of changes to the gears ? I don't think so . I think MAN also had no idea that LTA is doing this . Complain also no use cus LTA is under Government . Viacom is the one who do the inspection right ?
personally i would prefer
1. a95
its v quiet, makes the ride feels awesome and also more spacious? n how come it cn carry more ppl?
2. E500 if it doesnt rattles, annoying af. makes it feel lousy + a bit squeezy?
3. B9TL
i prefer the newer interior design, makes it more spacious n comfortable looking to the eye, especially tge stairs.
2 n 3 is switchable. but man remains as 1.

Of course A95 is the first choice given its bigger engine and torque.Technicians point of view may be differ as it involved many cleaning and replacing the exhaust particle for smoke test.Hence,Still my no 1 choice and only if MB start build Citaro DDs with 10700cc 350hp/1700nm.
ADL:I prefer the facelift design,Its more wider at 2.55m compared to the current one.
B9TL is the last choice.

Why doesn't more bus manufacturer built double decker public bus ? From what I know nearly all bus manufacturer has double decker chassis not for public bus but for tour/coach bus . Both tour bus / public bus are based on the same tonnage- 24Tons . The only difference between 24 ton coach and 24ton public bus is horsepower output and suspension settings .
Why not 1 include the scania dd ? I rode it from bedok to woodlands once and that's it . The ride was so bumpy and so uncomfortable.

but why isn't SBST or LTA ordering any NUD (Double Deckers) in addition to ADL's E500s, MAN A95/A39 and Volvo B9 Wrights? in comparison MAN A22s, Mercedes Benz Citaro, BYD K9 and ADL's E200s (future).

Because there isn't a 3 axle NUD product, and also because the KUD is meant to be fully low floor and has the ZF AV132 portal axle to achieve that. Your question should then be, why didn't SBS or LTA buy more KUDs.

someone said that the K310UD is given when SBST bought over 1k of K230UBs. so what went wrong? favouring Volvos over Scanias? KUBs underpowered?
