Yah McDonalds,You think BCs so free ah like you?
Originally posted by SBS3004X:At least the B9TLs are good enough. On service 43 it is practically the end of the world even during off peak if Shitaro comes after a >15 minute wait, except at 11 am - 12 pm where loading is very low.
And to Go-ahead: At least 22 buses for 43 please.
43M perm 5 A/P SDs during off peak, 5 split shift DDs come in during peak.
Those 5 SDs do 34 during peak. 34 cannot use DDs anyway.
Err sure... Could be said for every bus right...
PRC buses also "good enough" what... Can carry pax and WAB!!
Obv the better choice is A95 la... If got better choice why still settle for the inferior?

What is the recommended pay for my "workers"?
If I am a CEO, I will concentrate on the topline and bottomline while doing best to provide best service to commuters.
If i LTA I offered a scheme for BCs
2 days rotating off weekly basic pay $1650-1800 for a start.
1 day rotating off weekly basic pay $2100-2250 for a start.
I recruit PRCs,Burmese,Filipinos,Indians and Indonesians as spare BCs to cover MCs,Leaves and Off days.Theyre also given benefits and 1 day off weekly including Sunday and Monday off.Singaporeans particularly loves 2 days off weekly.I would put my employees first above customers,Remember if your employees are treated well they also can perform well.I always believe if you want a good customer service first you need to become a good customer.Dont always assume that you pay you got all the rights to demand this and that.Cases by cases.

Originally posted by gekpohboy:Anyway, with regards to the buses, I want as many bus models as possible. Then the bus drivers and technicians got the opportunity to try out different kinds of buses. Because everyday do the same thing very sian, so might as well spice things up a bit: have all the bus models that the company possibly can.
Same method as Tower Transit: no fixed deployment. The depot got what bus jiu take what bus.
Then the employee can one day drive MAN A22, next day drive Mercedes Citaro, following day drive Scania K230UB, ... :)
This is a very nice method but it means more training needed which results in a longer introduction time and more costs. Something like asking you pilots to fly Boeing and Airbus aircraft. It's not as easy as you think. Maybe you can start off like MAN A22, A24 and A95. They share a common cockpit, like Boeing 777 and 787 and Airbus A330 and A340.
very good!

I would do a better job at managing feeders/intra-towns. Wouldn't deploy as many buses but kick in more HC buses.
During AM peak, would keep a standby bus in the direction towards MRT to ensure more timely arrivals.
Off peak hours would try to maximize SD usage. Peak hours try to maximize DD usage.
I see the people who write their fleet plans really don't know much. Wrong specification, bodywork not sold in Singapore, no idea it doesn't make sense for a third door on Low-Entry rigids. No idea Australian bodywork are 2.5m wide and the standard is 2.55m. No idea some buses not sold with ZF or Voith. Please read up.
