IN CASE 88 is shortened to AMK (as some forumers have said), I feel there might be room for this service:
Service 71: Ang Mo Kio Depot - Changi Airport (Loop)
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1DaQfIDrOkTftVIS9xOT-_fUWfbM&usp=sharing
- Follows current 88 route from AMK Ave 10 to Toa Payoh, and then use PIE
- Direct service for Ang Mo Kio, Bishan and Toa Payoh residents to Changi Airport
- Calls at Jln Toa Payoh and Jln Kolam Ayer bus stops for transfers (e.g. 23 to Tampines / 966 to Eunos, MP)
Limitations:
- Cannot use DDs
(Alternative route is to terminate at Changi Business Park so that DDs could be deployed, although not sure of the demand there)
- Unable to call at ITE bus stop directly for Bishan/TPY students (but within walking distance like 45)

I think this has been proposed b4, which has its pros and cons IMO
Pros: another DIRECT MRT connection via bus to Boon Lay, to relieve loadings on 975 for pax heading to CCK, or the need to change to 172 at old CCK road.
Cons: 405 mainly serves the cemetery during impt seasons, and since your routing is not explicitly stated, i wonder if it would still serve old CCK road end everyday? or just go up directly frm jln bahar to LCK road?
Qns: 405M is the current 405 routing or?

Yap 405M will be the current 405 route
I like the extension of Svc 405...
Maybe i tweak a bit here...
Svc 405 (Boon Lay Interchange - Lim Chu Kang Terminal (Loop)
- to enter and stop at Sungei Gedong Camp Guardhouse in both direction
Svc 405M (Boon Lay Interchange - Lim Chu Kang Terminal (Loop)
- Renumbered from Svc 405 after 1900 hrs on weekdays & operate full operating hours on Saturdays/Sundays/Public Holiday
- Skipped Old Choa Chu Kang Road aft 1900 hrs on all days after renumbered
Random thoughts:
- 100, 147, 196, 198 duplicate from Commonwealth MRT to Queensway, and for 147, 196 and 198, all the way to Bukit Merah. One of them could be diverted to Queenstown MRT and Alexandra Rd, to provide connection from Jln Bukit Merah to Queenstown MRT, and complement 195 from IKEA to Queenstown.
- 22, 24, 135, 159, 853 duplicate from Ang Mo Kio MRT to Ave 8 and Ave 1. One of them could be diverted to AMK Ave 3 and Ave 10, to complement 261 which has crazy loading, and provide more connections for Ave 10 residents.

Just upsize 172 will do.
Upgrade fleet, increase frequency.
If bus 46 route length still okay, can consider extending it to Pasir Ris, since no one actually takes the bus to/from Tampines Bus Interchange.

Hi mr array88, different crowds for 100, 147, 196, 198. Cannot really say 100 is duplicating as it originates from ghim moh and it does not go Jalan Bukit merah. 198 is terminating at Bukit merah. So only can say 147 and 196 duplicate each other. Cheers. Thanks.
Might as well introduce 261A/downroutes instead of trying to extend routes

i agree, but then just curious, is the loading frm old cck road to lck road end heavy at anytime? coz if it is then another duplicating service would be justified

22 is the only DD service among them, it would be the best choice (even if Ave 10 already has 45 to Serangoon). Otherwise 159 could do as well. Best not to touch the other three which all have long routes and unpredictable frequency.

Good idea

Yes but again svc 5 have to give GA in return
With the view that the DDs on svc 117 are best utilised along the Yishun Ave 2 - Sembawang sector, I was thinking if the terminus of some routes can be swopped over to better match capacity to demand. So here are some ideas:
1. Swop the terminus of 103 and 117 as such:
That way I think it can be justified for the revised 103 to have a boost in frequency and/or capacity, whereas svc 117 can use a full-SD fleet. Also it might facilitate Go-Ahead to take over 117 (so that they can have 2x Punggol-Yishun routes) ...
2. Or alternatively, swop the terminus of 85 and 117 (85 goes further to Sembawang, 117 cut back to Yishun)
Svc 85 already has almost full fleet DD, which would be useful for the future when Canberra estate is more built out. As with above, 117 can use majority SD fleet (if not full-fleet). Also this arrangement results in 2 bus operators at Sembawang and Yishun Interchanges (for now at least).
Thoughts on the above?

Hi mr orange28, what is the objective? If it is just to match demand to SD or DD, I think just leave it as only suggestions. Not practical at all. Cheers. Thanks.

As stated, the objective is to better match capacity to demand. Like to understand why you think it would not be practical?
Also this is the route suggestions thread after all, no need to be so rude. Cheers and have a great day ahead.
