As a NUS student on president's scholarship, I would say that this thread is redundant.
Explain why 46 which plies already developed areas was introduced.

There should be less than 5 pax per trip using 150 from Telok Kurau to Marine Terr...
Originally posted by autumncs:It would be nice if Toh Guan (IMM) has a fast service (via PIE) to Beauty World MRT, where commuters can change to Downtown Line, svc 52 or svc 985. The Toh Guan PIE exit can be quite congested during peak hours but there are no bus services using that PIE exit, which is quite a waste. Also, I'm fed up with the overcrowded East-West Line. LOL.
It would also be nice if Toh Guan has a fast service to Jurong West, bypassing Jurong East Ave 1 & Jurong West Ave 1. The journey from IMM to Pioneer Road North on svc 502 took me around 40 minutes, which I think is ridiculous given that the fare for svc 502 is $0.60 higher than regular fares.
Simple solution: Amend 41 to Boon Lay Way and Toh Guan Rd.
But I guess we won't see this happen, or else 41 would have already been introduced this way...
Toh Guan Estate needs some bus restructuring. Almost all services are Jurong East bound.
41, 52, 105, 183, 333, 990 all go to Jurong East one way or the other. There is no direct service even to Lakeside and Boon Lay that are so nearby.
My suggestions:
41, 183, 333, 990 stay as it is and provide the necessary JE - Toh Guan MRT connection
52 extend to Boon Lay via Jurong East Ave 1, Jurong Townhall Road, Lakeside MRT, Boon Lay Place, Boon Lay Interchange
* This way you provide direct connection to IBP, Traders Center, IMM for people living along Chinese Garden, Lakeside, Boon Lay who have no option but to take EWL and then bus or walk
105 extend to Bukit Batok interchange via Bukit Batok ave 1.
* In spite of Bukit Batok being very close to Toh Guan, there is no direct connection. 990 route is winding to Bukit Batok MRT.
These two changes can enhance connectivity between Toh Guan and neighbouring estates. There would still be 4 other services, hence it will not inconvenience current travelers.

Won't happen because there is a sizeable number of people from Toh Guan Estate that take 41 to Beauty World MRT.

Yes it is bullshit reply. 150 is always empty except for the few times when both sv 15 and sv 155 have not arrived.

there is 188 to bukit batok (although not to Bukit Batok interchange)...
think it will be faster for ppl from Boon Lay Mrt/Lakeside Mrt to take mrt and then transfer to free shuttle to IMM... as for toh tuck HDB, there is 187 which is nearby (within walking distance or can take 333 to transfer)....

True can transfer but direct is always better. Given that there are 6 services currently to MRT, I think 52/105 can be better utilized to meet direct connection needs of Toh Guan residents.
114 (Sengkang to New Bridge Rd Ter)
TPE/CTE
Orchard Rd
Bras Basah Rd
Suntec City
Raffles Ave
Eu Tong Sen St
110 (Sengkang to New Bridge Rd Ter)
KPE
Nicoll Highway
Esplanade Dr
Fullerton Rd
Shenton Way
Cantonment Rd
If want to go LT, tweak 114 to enter BT rd & LT rd which would otherwise be winding via TPE/CTE

I would prefer Bulim take over Tuas,Joo Koon and Boon Lay while Ulu Pandan take Jurong East,Clementi and partial of Boon Lay svc.Kent Ridge,Buona Vista,Bt Merah and Harbourfront another package.Bt Batok,CCK and BPJ other new package.

If I'm going to IMM from Boon Lay, I always take the MRT to Jurong East and then walk. Using the J-walk (a series of sheltered walkways linking Jurong East MRT and IMM) is actually faster than taking the free shuttle.

Yeah, I also agree that Toh Guan has too many services to Jurong East. Amending one of the routes to serve Jurong West directly would be very helpful.
But then, Boon Lay interchange is already full, and an extension to Joo Koon interchange would be too long for svc 52/105. Where else can the extended service terminate? Soon Lee depot?

I thought Boon Lay has a bit more space after Joo Koon amendments?

That could make 52 too long though. Also consider the alternative of 99 going to JE.
For me, I feel that 41 has more potential to be extended:

Boon Lay does have space to accommodate 1-2 services after the Joo Koon rehaul.
Originally posted by AJQZC:That could make 52 too long though. Also consider the alternative of 99 going to JE.
For me, I feel that 41 has more potential to be extended:
- Bulim Depot
- Corporation Rd
- Boon Lay Ave
- Boon Lay Dr (following 246)
- Corporation Rd
- Boon Lay Way
- Jurong East Ctrl
- Toh Guan Rd
- (usual route of 41 to Beauty World, and back).
After which, 246's loop around Boon Lay Drive would be redundant, and it can be converted to ply Corporation Rd (to backup 178) and loop around Lakeside MRT instead.Only drawback would be the loss of a direct link from Jurong East Int/MRT to Toh Tuck and Beauty World.
41 cannot be extended on Jurong East side because there is dedicated pool of people who take 41 from JE to Burgundy Hills/Toh Tuck.
The only alternatives is 52/105 as re-routing them at JE will not upset any commuters given that there are other alternatives.
52 to Boon Lay will be a bit longer but not too much also given that it will be quite fast via Boon Lay Way. Though I would like it to do Boon Lay Place, Boon Lay Ave as there are many new HDBs/amenities there that can provide direct connection beyond Lakeside.

I dont think LTA will introduce this kind of long svc anymore
Sengkang needs more CBD services leh...furthermore 80 and the NEL are already utilized well. Still got chance one if distance is like 117
114 can be amended like that but I dont know if its too much depending on the necessity to enter those areas
110 possible, though that would mean skipping Fullerton Rd
Is it practical to extend 925 to Bt Batok passingby outside CCK Int?
