Is it even confirmed that the route will end at boon lay and not jurong east?

I see..maybe they might change at the last moment?
Anyways here's my suggestion(for SK West):
SK int
Cpv Rd
Cpv Dr
Ancv Dr
Ancv Rd
SK East Ave
SK West Ave
Fnv Lane(Why does this area always gets neglected I'm not sure) *or SK West Rd
YCK Rd

Jln TPY
Whitley Rd
PIE
Clementi Ave 6
AYE
Same route as gekpohboy's via Corporation Rd to Boon Lay Int
*Transferring point at Jln TPY to Orchard, etc
*Clementi Town
*AYE transferring point to intl business pk/jurong east

Amendment of Service 48
Details (towards Buona Vista):
(Existing route up till Bedok South Ave 1)
ECP
Still Road > Marine Parade Road
(Existing route till KK Hospital)
Limited stops along Bukit Timah Road – calling at bus stops 40071 (Leng Kwang Baptism Church, opp Chinese Int'l School) and 41021 (Botanic Gardens Stn), plies Wayang Satu and Newton Flyovers instead.
(Existing route till Buona Vista Ter)
Route is symmetrical so the return journey should be roughly the same.
Fleet:
Service runtime decrease: 21 SDs 16 SDs
2 buses allocated to services plying deleted sectors of Bukit Timah Road (66, 67), 3 buses allocated to services plying deleted sectors of Marine Parade Road (31, 36, 47 etc.). The eventual service that would receive the buses could be determined based on 1) the demand of the svc itself and 2) its reliability.
Double deckers may be added where and when appropriate.
The main reason why I chose to amend 48 out of so many services and in such a way is because I saw great potential for this service to be a long-haul express link between the far East (beyong East Coast) and the west. For example, Holland Village is now made more accessible to easterners when a train ride could have taken an hour or above and the only other bus available is 61 (which is a far worse candidate for restructuring).
It also gives an express option for those living in Tanah Merah, as the area develops with the rise of several condominium projects. Train would definitely be insufficient to cover all the unique links that 48 provides, only to be hindered by its winding in Marine Parade and along Bukit Timah Road.
Passengers in the affected sectors are still well covered with alternatives and transfer locations. In fact, they could change at the bus stop itself with minimal walking. As mentioned above alternatives will have its frequency boosted which further minimises the impact on the short-haul travellers.
Any further views on this I will address based on Q&A style...

Hi mr SMB128B, well done. Yes sbs48 is too lengthy. Cheers. Thanks.
If Express 500 is possible then LTA should convert 513 into full day svc?
Weekdays:0600-2200
Saturdays:0630-2130
Sundays/PHs:0700-2100
Fleet of 6 Citaros and 5 B9TLs

Really? What about those people along Mandarin Gardens/Neptune Court who have only sv 48 to go to Rochor/Little India??
Please observe the loading on 48 before saying "well done". Surprised you endorse this when for simpler amendments, you say that an alternative needs to be provided.

I don't think it will fetch much pax during the day. Won't be economically viable.

Less than half of 48 commuters from these sectors are long haul travellers... And even if there are more I don't think it is a harm to transfer to 48 at PP or MP lib, esp when 1. There are many alternatives to PP and reduction in fleet will mean more buses for alternatives and 2. It is a same stop transfer...
There are many more in earlier sectors who need access to PP/Rochor/Middle west YET only stuck with 48 which winds like no mother... We also need to improve connections for them yknow...
