==================
Overview (TL;DR):
- 47 to reroute to 150's route, skipping Parkway Parade & Amber Rd (DDs to be lost)
- 47M between CBP and Tanah Merah during peak hours (with DDs)
- 150 overhauled, between Eunos and NBR Term, bridging Marine Parade and CBD (with DDs)
==================
Amendment to service 47:
- Changi Business Park Term
- (current route to Marine Parade Rd)
- Marine Terr (one-way only; return via Marine Parade Rd)
- Marine Cres (two-way)
- Marine Parade Rd (non-stop)
- Telok Kurau Rd
- Joo Chiat Pl
- Still Rd
- Changi Rd (return via Sims Ave)
- Jln Turi
- Eunos Int
Introduction of peak hour service 47M (AM peak towards CBP, PM peak towards UEC:)
- Changi Business Park Term
- (current route to Tanah Merah MRT)
- Bedok South Ave 3 (Blk 50 stop only)
- Upp East Coast Rd (non-stop)
- Upp East Coast Term
Overhaul of service 150:
- Eunos Int
- Sims Ave (return via Jln Turi / Changi Rd)
- Still Rd
- East Coast Rd
- Telok Kurau Rd
- Marine Terr (one-way only; loopback)
- Marine Parade Rd (one-way only)
- Marine Cres (two-way, provisional, may be omitted; )
- Marine Parade Rd
- Amber Rd
- Mountbatten Rd
- Fort Rd
- ECP (express)
- Rochor Rd (return via Ophir Rd)
- Beach Rd (*subject to change by demand; may be better to go via Bugis Junction instead)
- Middle Rd
- Victoria St
- Stamford Rd (return via Bras Basah Rd)
- Orchard / Penang / Somerset / Grange Rds / Orchard Blvd (return via Orchard Rd)
- Paterson Rd
- Irwell Bank Rd (return via Hoot Kiam Rd)
- River Valley Rd
- Delta Rd
- Lower Delta Rd
- Tiong Bahru Rd
- Kim Tian Rd
- Jln Bt Merah
- New Bridge Rd / Kampong Bahru Term
==================
Considering that 47's prime loading is between CBP and Tanah Merah, and both 47 and 150 are BSEP, this allows for the original 47 to be diverted to serve 150's sector, skipping Marine Parade (which has medium loading and is easily covered by 31, 196, 197). While 47 will have its fleet downgraded to SDs (while taking over all of 150's), 47M with full DDs will be introduced in its place to cover the crowd during peak hours.
After which, the original 150 will be free to be amended to cover the heaviest loading sectors between the CBD and Marine Parade, following most of 36's route and some parts of 48's and 196's. DDs will be deployed on the new route. The problem/excuse of having "additional" services along Marine Parade Rd will not be applicable as it's either 47 having replaced 150, or the other way around, so the number of services remain the same. Politics issues (if any) are taken care of.
47 will now do the entirety of Marine Cres in both directions, and Marine Terr towards Eunos. The sector from Eunos to Marine Terr is patched up by the new 150, while the sector between Parkway Parade and Marine Cres is already served by 134. If necessary, 150 can also do Marine Cres in both directions to relieve 16.
And the best thing is: both routes will be bidirectional after the change.
Possible problems:
- - Lack of terminating space for a new service at Eunos Int, as well as New Bridge Rd Term.
- - Lack of DDs for new 150, or enough SDs to make up for 47's lost DDs.
- - 150's new route being too long.
- - Loss of the loop at Marine Parade Rd / Amber Rd. (Perhaps a possible replacement would be 196M to loop around? Only if absolutely necessary; best not touch either 15 or 966)
- - Loss of a direct link from Telok Kurau to Marine Terr - something LTA might be particularly picky on. A possible solution is to have 47 from Eunos loop at Marine Terr before crossing back to Marine Cres which adds to the journey time, but can save 150 from the need to ply Marine Terr.
- - DD restrictions at Ophir Rd / Rochor Rd / Kim Tian Rd. To be checked.
- - Right-turning restriction from Marine Cres to Marine Parade Rd. If true, re-route 47 to serve Still Rd South & East Coast Rd instead.
==================
Please comment. Thanks.
Why not make 47M loop at Tanah Merah like 31A? In this case can also label it 47A to avoid confusion, and have EDS switched back to 47 on its way back to CBP.
As for DDs on 150, some people said that Benjamin Sheares Bridge (from Ophir Rd towards CGA) was too steep for DDs...

Wouldn't there be too much duplication with 89? Plus PSR Dr 3 already has 6/89 to Loyang while Dr 1 (between MRT and Dr 2) only has the less reliable 109.
I would rather reroute 68 via Dr 1, Dr 2 and Loyang Way. Then 109 can skip Dr 2 and serve Loyang Way (Loyang Valley bus stop where there's no service to Pasir Ris).

Your reply was same like LTA leh..68 should be serving Loyang Way passingby Lydep. It also an alternative for workers going part of Loyang Way during Sundays and GA staff to go MRT/Int or go Tampines mah.

Hi mr carbikebus, much better to go Punggol road-field-east-central-place ( loop at this 1 stop outside int)-field-road-back to TPE. This is due to poor frequency/bunching for service 3 coming back to Punggol due to roundabout route in pasir ris. Cheers. Thanks.

With 3M,Svc 3 less pressure mah..And many pax would definately wait outside Punggol Int to wait for 3M cause direct to PSR instead of winding through Punggol Central/Field.3B can replace to serve Punggol Int looping at Punggol East during peak hours.3A should stay.

Hi mr TPS Timothy Mok, I think cannot. The direct link from Punggol central and Punggol field people to TPE to switch to other services is gone with your amendment of Service 3. Punggol field residents lose also their direct link to pasir ris. So your amendment of service 3 will not work.
By the way, I also need to correct your misconception of Punggol central being connected to pasir ris drive 12. Currently there is no construction work going on to link this. They are constructing the link for Punggol central to TPE/KPE linkage. I think you are talking about the link for Punggol to pasir ris. That will be another road deep inside after Punggol drive (semi-express road) linking this Punggol (not Punggol central) to pasir Ris. So service 3 is definitely to stay. Cheers. Thanks.

Cannot coz 150 route cannot accommodate DDs while 134 fleet is majority DD.

Punggol Ctrl, Punggol Ctrl Extension, Lor Halus, PSR Farmway 3, 2, Ind Dr 1, Dr 1.
I am not sure if there is ever demand to that industrial sector of PSR. Though there seems to be a major pet shop hub, Lor Halus Wetland and Pasir Ris Camp there, might have a route there in the future.

They should take 34 to the TPE long bus stop and transfer to 3 there. Save bus fare also.
IDK why many people still think more transfer = waste bus fare.

Hi mr ButIAmAToilet, diverting service 3 will not happen. If anything, you must introduce a new service. Because if you do it this way, whatever happen to all the bus stops along Punggol field? Residents along Punggol field (near meridian LRT and plaza side) lose another service and are left with 62 and 83. There are also many people taking service 3 at these bus stops. When anybody wants to amend a route, please always think about the portion that is amended. Is there extreme inconvenience to the people living along the amended portion? If yes, is another alternative being provided? Please do not tell people to walk a long distance to take another service or worse take it out without providing an alternative. People do not like it. Cheers. Thanks.

64 amendment quite confusing + don't really see the point.
I like the route of 152. I would keep it full day until 8pm, though with reduced fequency during off peeak.

How about:
Considering observed loading levels of services. In this way all of Ubi Ave 3 get access to Ubi station as well. The bus stop skipped by 58 / 94 at Eunos Link still has 87 to link to Kaki Bukit and 93 to Eunos. Alternatively a new service could follow 94's amended route and provide service to Kaki Bukit Industrial Estate as well.

I don't think 125 can be modified that way. 94 sure can by entering UBI ave 2 (MRT) and then doing ave 4, ave 3 and towards Airport road. This way it will connect Airport road to UBI MRT as well.
I think there is a need for a new service to connect UBI Ave 3 and Kaki Bukit Industrial Estate north to DTL3.
