One bus do few svcs in a day.. those new buses (A95 and lets see the new A22) all no perm svc
No wonder some of my SMRT BC friends from Kjdep/Wldep and Amdep all quit..Higher basic pay but a lot of stressful works.
GA not enough BC, so now will have to borrow BC

Then in the meantime, some of the other svcs that somehow should have a higher proportion of DDs, are still having a weird combi of SD-DDs
And as for the bunching of buses, I saw 2x Sv 518 buses arrive at the same bus stop at PSR Dr 1 within like.. 2 mins of each other. And that's during off-peak somemore.
And in case you guys thought that bunching is common along PSR Dr 1, i saw them both in the direction to Suntec, not going back to PSR.
Now Express 518 really macham become express, way faster than even the 359 i was waiting for..

How come you know not enough BC eh?
SINGAPORE— Just a little over two weeks into the start of its bus operations here, transport operator Go-Ahead Singapore has lost a number of bus captains, and is engaging drivers on a short-term contract basis from SBS Transit and SMRT Buses to cope.
The number of drivers who left is below 20, said a Go-Ahead spokesperson in response to queries. The drivers left because they had difficulties adjusting to the operator’s “interlining” model, which requires bus captains to drive a number of different routes during the week, instead of one single route.
Go-Ahead Singapore, which won the second contract put up for tender by the Government under the bus contracting model, began rolling out its services on Sept 4 in tranches. As of now, it operates 24 services, with one more to begin next year.
From Wednesday (Sept 21), 30 SBS Transit bus captains will be deployed at Loyang Depot for approximately two months to drive Services 358 and 359. Ten SMRT bus captains will also be deployed to help Go-Ahead.
The request was made by Go-Ahead, which said in a press release on Tuesday that the attrition rate was “higher than expected”. The company said 38 more bus captains are due to enter service over the “coming weeks” and that it is sourcing for and recruiting more bus captains.
Said the company’s deputy chairman David Cutts in the release: “This move is about ensuring commuters continue to receive a service they can rely on. I am grateful to SBS Transit and SMRT Buses for their support and we will work towards recruiting and training more Bus Captains so as to take care of the journeys of commuters.

Hi mr carbikebus, so we know the real reason now. The new bus operators have difficulty adjusting to the system of a number of different routes during the week instead of one single route. So is the operator to be blamed for enforcing such a system initially? Cheers. Thanks.

This along with the EB news may destroy GA's chances for Seletar. I really worry about the outcome of the Seletar package tender.
20 bus captains left? They got 700 BCs. So should have 680 left. It say 38 still on training. So should have around 600+ left. Not enough to operate 25 services?
Think more than 50 quit. Why can't they tell the truth?

I think its chance is gone. LTA have been keeping quiet over the performance of GA so far. But how long can LTA keep quiet?

They will not go public. To do so is an admission of BCM's failure.
Bus Contracting Model is what it says on the tin - outsourcing bus services to try and get them operated at the lowest cost. It hasn't changed since Perth, it certainly won't change here.

Adopting Perth (and Sydney)'s timetabling model for high frequency routes right from the start is really asking for trouble.
New operators favour this because it brings efficiencies to timetabling. Whether it works in practice is another story. I have discussed about this practice previously at length.

Hi mr sgbuses, it is a real shame of BCM. Now we all know why there are missing buses in the scheduling and why the headway is so long. Cannot ask the public to leave home earlier to cover up for them. Still have chances to run into buses with long headway. Once the regular public starts to take their buses, the situation will show itself. Cannot hide and use other reasons to cover up. The truth finally surfaces out. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr lemon1974, you cannot give seletar to Go Ahead Singapore. Go ahead still has the audacity to want to put in a bid for the tender even though they are in difficulties now. Still borrow 30 drivers from Sbs transit and 10 drivers from smrt. Please ensure you have enough cover for your current cohort of drivers should any want to quit. Concentrate on your pasir ris Punggol bus interchange and Loyang depot first. Cheers. Thanks.

What if you are scheduled for DD after mealbreak, and you find the whole Int only have SD?

Should give 5th operator.
Three weeks in operations got issue already, what a laughing stock

Hi mr sbs3004X, should give back to Sbs transit/smrt for more stability first. Don't rock the boat too much. Cheers. Thanks.

SBS Transit. Definitely not SMRT.

Hi mr philipC, the signs were there in the first week already. The first three days saw so many missing buses which did not depart bus interchange on time. Then there are so much headway between buses. Super long queues formed at service 386 in interchange. Many people complained and complained. Cheers. Thanks.

Looks like Ang Moh management style and does not fit in Singapore contact. Drivers driving more than one route in a week? maybe Carbikebus can provide more insight

LTA should have step in n delay the handling of all services under pasir ris to GA. They could have say that GA will take over few services first. But guess LTA does not wan to lose face cos it will be kicking its own legs if it do so.
So LTA just let GA take over Pasir ris route n instead ask SBST/SMRT to help.
frankly speaking, I really dunno why GA need to have such schedule for BC to drive different route in one day. Does not see any benefit ? Less buses are used? Dun think so. Cut OT? Dun think so. What else?
