Yes the sole MAN 16.240 HOCL..It produce distinct howling sound when reach beyond 55-65 kmh..
That bus looked like a coach, if I'm not wrong. Frankly I know the buses but cant really relate the models.. hehe.
Hahaha... last time still got non aircon buses... By the mid 2000s TIBS/SMRT already full fleet aircon with the ELBOs and O405s fully CAC, but SBS/SBST still got non aircon B10M MK II, Scania N113, VO2X. Up until a few yrs ago still can take VO2X around Jurong/Tuas to enjoy the "wind". People also complain why SBST buses all so old... now all the buses so new, but much fewer variety of bus models.
I really remembered taking those NAC DDs, I really enjoyed the memories of the only time I boarded a VO2X on 242 (now 241 after ammendment), I always saw 242 getting VO2X cameos for quite some time but only boarded it once (which was eventually replaced with 1 LO3X perm), I think it was SBS7238L or 7239J that I boarded (I saw 7255L and 7253S cameo 242 before)
I felt so happy that day, the only time I ever took VO2X on 242 and feeling the cool breeze in the night from BNL instead of the (then common and abundant) O405 but I never realised that it would be my first and last ride on a VO2X on 242 (I've taken VO2X on 179, 192 and 193 a few times before)
I always complained about too many single deckers on 99 (knowing that 99 runs DD full day) but looking back, I really wished I didn't complain, I really miss the B10M MK3 on 99 (despite that I always complain the rear seats are too "short" for me, in comparison, they are way better than the KUBs and Citaros)
It is funny that back in 2009-11, I would AVOID taking the KUB on 241 and wait for the next bus (it would be a DD), funny that now if I see a SD on 241 I would be quite happy to see something different from the full fleet of B9TL wrights that operates on 241.
