  Because now Operators got no more buying power..Whatever LTA give them,They should take.MAN also not exclusive to them anymore.This GA sooner or later will have to take MAN also..LTA way is very simple,They keep on Kapo GA lush green buses to transfer to other Operators until GA is short of buses.

  This I know... But SMRT clearly did not wish to try out Volvo as described by OP... It took Volvos only coz LTA shoved it down its throat

  Given a choice,They would reject those Volvos..Their ADLs is more powerful.

  Actually the SG plate ones they have feels a lot more powerful than the ones SBS have, I would say its still suitable for SMRT.

  Those SG B9TLs in a way is more ummphh than SG TT/GA/SBST ones..

  The 1st Habits will only go for dereg and scrap (5th onwards if you include 1042E, 1074M, 1110S & 1114G that are deregistered already due to fires / accidents) from 9 June 2017, now is 6 October 2016. Still have 8 months left before the 1st Habits (5th onwards if you include 1042E, 1074M, 1110S & 1114G as 1st 4 deregistered Habits) deregisters and scrap. So for now, worry about the DAFs, O405 Volgrens & O405G MK2s that will be retiring before the Hispano Habits does

  234 in total, consisting of 194 O405Gs (93 Batch 1 Habits, 80 Batch 2 Habits, 21 Volgren) and 40 A24s.

  Okay good. That's still a decent number to cover feeders/intra towns, 184 and 858.
