If you see both of these buses running on the same service coming at the same time, which bus model would you board?
For me.. I would board the Scania K230UB because it's much more spacious and the granny seat in front is much wider. Also, i love the sound of the engine when it's speeding :)
For citaros my neck hurts from viewing the front on the granny seat as the backrest is quite low and the light is much dimmer. However it's horsepower is definitely better than the Scania K230UB.
the MAN win them all
It's Citaro hands down... The E4s could be really ill-maintained and shakes and roars... Albeit its pretty good acceleration...
The EEVs... Never mind. Shouldn't even have existed as a bus make in the first place.
No winners. Depend on personal preferences. Cheers. Thanks.
Citaro the inner seats got that bump on the floor, which makes the ride not comfortable for the people who sit there.
Scania is better, but why did SBS Transit stop purchasing the Scania buses?
Its a big big world out there..
See the different perspectives :)
Personally, I prefer the KUBs, ample leg room, always chosed the 2nd last row of seats so that I can stretch my legs out. Citaro wise, I simply just do not like how they arrange the slope for the front and rear facing seats at the back to the right.
But surprisingly, based on my own observation and chats with 64 BCs, they prefer the KUB for one simple reason: Fast pickups.
Volvo B10M 😎
whichever comes first.
Whichever has less pax.
If both are empty, I will pick random one.
I personally prefer KUBs as well. aisles that are extremely narrow, unadjustable air-con, smaller granny seats, rear-facing seats with very little leg room (esp the ones at the front), are some demerits of the Citaros. Overall Citaro's interior looks very cramped to me and the bus always feels like its gonna burst with just 50+ pax on board..
KUB's interior on the other hand is more spacious and is able to handle heavier loads better although the ride on KUBs can be a little bumpy. The seat configuration of the KUBs are way better designed and much more simpler imo.
I like KUBs due to its more spacious feel but then again I would board the bus that has lesser pax or more seat available.

on that, i prefer the Tibs O405s.
N113s and the SBS O405s ...
Same here. Mercedes-Benz O405 and Scania N113CRB for me. Faster and more comfortable than all the new buses. Not to mention all those great memories with those buses.
Between KUB and Citaro I still prefer KUB as it has higher capacity. Citaros feel really small inside and I feel they're very under-powered... I kinda wish SBS had also gone for the MAN A22. Still not as comfortable as the older buses but fast. At least feels like progress to me.
I would rather have the O405 especially TIBS/SMRT if I could blast back to the past. Fast, nice gearbox, overtaking speed, you name it.
Like the ZF and unrestricted Voith Citaro.
I prefer Mercedes-Benz Citaro O530.
those old japanese bus by TIBS
The grass is always greener on the other side.
Seriously, why did SBS Transit stop buying the Scania K230UB buses? I prefer the Scania K230UB buses to the Mercedes-Benz Citaro 0530 buses, where the seats are more comfortable and the air-conditioning is stronger.
Anyway, what is the point in creating this thread, when the authorities may neither read this thread, nor intend to purchase additional units of the Scania K230UB buses?
It would be good if someone can start a petition to ask the authorities to purchase more Scania K230UB buses.

Unfortunately, if you do succeed you risk receiving just as much vitriol from bus lobbyists as that poor LTA bus planner did over service 76.
The community has been in the gutter for years, full of lobbyists, and the situation is not going to get better anytime soon.

but, from the replies here in this thread, it seems that on the contrary, bus lobbyists want Scania K230UB, not Mercedes Benz Citaro 0530.
so, if I succeed getting the authorities to buy Scania K230UBs, I will be attacked by the bus lobbyists for helping them get what they want? It does not make sense.
by the way, please avoid using those complicated words (vitriol & gutter). i did not even bother checking the dictionary, but only guess the meaning.

So, which bus you prefer?
