50-60 buses?

Haven’t tried it personally, but I will when I am lucky enough to catch a bendy this Sunday because I’m going to go Jurong Kechil. What svc there got bendy?
To count pax on bendy, there needs to be two people counting. One will have to count boarding/alighting pax in front carriage, the one at the back will have to count alighting pax from back carriage.
Note: The following was done on Sunday, 17 Apr 2016.
Sunday afternoon loading on 21 DD from Bedok Reservoir Rd
(60 in front)
(16:58) Bedok Reservoir Rd - [+5] 38
(16:59) Jln Eunos - [+5] 43, [-1+1] 43, [-3] 40 (Eunos MRT)
(17:05) Changi Rd - [-5+4] 39, [-8+8] 39
Geylang Rd - [-6+10] 43 (Haig Rd Mkt), [+10-3] 50 (City Plaza), [-2] 48, [+2] 50, [-5+9] 54 (overtaken by 67 DD which also received a lot of Indians but upper deck not full), [-7+5] 52, [-5+10] 57, [-2] 55 (may have error in counting because upper deck is now 70% full)
(17:21) Lor 1 Geylang - [-9+7] 53 (Kallang MRT) (21A DD in front)
(17:22) Boon Keng Rd - 53
(17:25) Bendemeer Rd - [-5] 48
(17:27) Jln Besar - [-1+1] 48
(17:30) Kitchener Rd - [-42+1] 7 (Correction: There were 19 pax onboard, counted 12 less previously)
(17:33) Serangoon Rd - [-6+10] 23 (Farrer Park MRT), [+2] 25
(17:36) Balestier Rd - [-2+2] 25, [-2+3] 26
(17:40) Moulmain Rd - [+1] 27, [-2] 25
(17:43) Thomson Rd - [-10+14] 29 (Novena MRT), 29
(17:47) Balestier Rd - [-5+6] 30, [-6+5] 29, [-2+2] 29, [-9+9] 29, [-4] 25
(17:54) Whampoa Dr - [-19+1] 7
(17:56) Jln Bahagia - [-2] 5, [-4] 1
- High turnover rate along Geylang Rd, Balestier Rd etc
- Seems to me that 67 and 21A in front have taken a lot of pax

* sv 132 has 2 distinct high loadings: Bukit Merah to Redhill MRT & AMK Ave 3 to HG Ave 2
* Loading on Upper Thomson - AMK sector very much depends on 165/166 arrival timing
* 132 had a 76 right in front at AMK MRT. When it overtook 76 at CTE traffic light, 76 still had a full upper deck.
* Loading drops significantly from Redhill to Whitley but starts picking up again from Thomson road
* Opposite direction also observed buses with good loading at Tiong Bahru Road and then AMK Ave 3. Buses in between in opposite direction were rather empty with maybe 20-40 pax range.
* Overall good loading and DDs getting well utilized
* Observed frequency - 12 to 15 mins.
Shocking off-peak loading on board SBS3003Z on 102 from Hougang Ctrl Int: 20/4/2016 (Wednesday)
Hougang Central Int: 11 (Departed at 2:11 pm)
Upp Serangoon Rd: 11 (0/ -0), 80 (68/-1), 98 (22/-4), 97 (1/-2)
Buangkok Drive: 94 (0/-3), 89 (1/-6), 87 (0/-2)
Sengkang Ctrl: 69 (5/-24)
These loadings may not be be accurate as I was on the upper deck. The upper deck was almost full, with 53/55 pax. The lower deck was fully seated, with about slightly more than 10 standees.
Originally posted by Sbs6750E:I jump very high if that 102 loading is true.
Off-peak. This is not a joke! The peak loading is definitely more than 90 pax.

To me it seems like a one-off. If you see the loading of 68 pax boarding is at one stop on Upper Serangoon. It could be a group of people who are traveling together maybe from school, institute, office group. Even at Sengkang Central bus has 69 pax. This is extremely rare. Bus usually has around 30 pax during peak hours at Buangkok area.

Exactly.. thought as much.. seems like a school group activity... this is not 102 loading pattern.
One off only,102 always empty or half full during peak hours

There were 2 schools.
Its just school only. Like how buses along AMK Ave 3 twd Ave 1 are packed during peak hours to schools and at 2+ from schools but empty for the rest of the times

I have seen fully packed DDs on 43 during off-peak, for the same reason.
The first trip for SBS3440U on 43 in AM Peak is often full during school term, but not even fully seated during school holidays.
I have seen triple bunchings on 116, for the same reason.

43 will have more SDs to DDs conversion soon.

Loading on sv 187 @ 17.25 from Boon Lay Interchange MANA22

* Bus in front = 07 mins
* Bus behind = 04 mins, followed by bus in 03 mins
* There wasn't much bunching but buses arrive in intervals of 03-08 mins quite a lot for a trunk service. All were A22s.
* Distinct high loading patterns
(1) Lakeside - Jurong East Ave 1 (also operated by sv 98). Bus left with 16 pax.
(2) Bukit Batok MRT - Bukit Batok West Ave 7 (also operated by 947, 985)
* Other loading patterns
(1) Many take from Boon Lay to Jurong West Ave 1 & Jurong East Ave 1 (first is covered by 157 & 198 as well). Unique route for East Ave 1.
(2) Around 8-10 students boarded at ITE CCK who went ahead to Woodlands
* Suggestions
(1) Fleet of 30 buses is too extravagant for this trunk service. Buses have been added from 20 to 30 to make up for the loss and lack of high capacity buses
(2) DDs should have been a priority for this service. A good fleet would be 25 buses with 15 A22s, 10 DDs
Great loading observation for 187, though 187 does seems to be spammed with too many buses, maybe for the time being, 187 can get A22 to bendy conversion.
I always thought that 187's loading is between Boon Lay to JE Avenue 1 (as an alternative to 157 and 198 as I've noticed more people taking 198 than 187) but I'm quite surprised that 187 gets great loading at Lakeside MRT (198 also serve Boon Lay, which some passangers alighted there)
I might want to try doing a loading analysis on 198 for PM peak (towards Avenue 1) if I have the time to do so, preferably on a KUB/Citaro slot.

At Lakeside very much depends on whether sv 98 called the stop or not. sv 98 DD will take everyone from the stop when it arrives. In this particular instance, there was no 98 DD right in front. I didn't check to see how much ahead it was. Hence, the high loading.
198 is def the preferred option from Boon Lay to JW Ave 1. Hence, when you see at Boon Lay the bus had only 25 pax boarding. Out of these some alight at Boon Lay Way, st 51, West Ave 1 and East Ave 1.
People who board at Lakeside, mainly alight along West Ave 1.
172 has high loading and full bus at jalan sungei poyan, berseri and sarimbun, should scrap those DAFs and use more A95s on this service. dont let the A95s go to waste.
