*Highest loading = 32 pax & highest pax boarding = 12 pax at Opp Downtown East towards Pasir Ris Ctrl. Then highest pax alighting = 10 pax at the next stop (Pasir Ris Ctrl).
*Pasir Ris Dr 3 alone has 21 pax boarded the bus, so we can see that during this hour Pasir Ris Dr 3 residents mostly use this svc to transfer to EWL and to transfer to other bus svc at Pasir Ris Dr 12.
*Interestingly, loading after Pasir Ris Ctrl keeps dropping until the end of trip. We can see that high pax activity only occurs at key transfer b/s like Pasir Ris Dr 12, TPE and Punggol Rd.
*In conclusion, demand is quite good in the Pasir Ris stretch, whereas on the other hand demand is very weak in SK/HG area at this off-peak hour.
I know during AM peak this svc has super high loading towards Airport Cargo, then PM peak also the same coming out from Cargo. But demand is much weaker during off-peak, so do u guys think this svc can have mix of both SD and DD, or do u all think full fleet DD is justifiable?

should have observed the loading from changi village there. IMO should be quite interesting.

I'll do it one day when I go there, haha~~
IMO loading from Airport Cargo should be quite mediocre at that hour.

Just out of curiosity, what happened to the DDs on 103?
15/12/17
Disclaimer:
All of this was done during the AM Peak Hour on 15 December (Friday).
Loading on Service 147A (SBS3881E, DD)
Hougang Ave 8 - 63 (14/-1)
Hougang Ave 2 - 61 (2/-4)
Yio Chu Kang Rd - 65 (8/-4), 69 (4/0), 73 (4/0), 73 (0/0), 73 (0/0)

Bendemeer Rd - 41 (3/-8) [I alighted here]
147 - bus in front: 9 mins, bus behind: 2 mins
147A - bus in front: NA (first bus), bus behind: 13 mins
Remarks:
- Loading slowly declines along the route
- Quite a decent amount of people continue towards Little India / Chinatown
- This is a good supplementary service for its parent service 147
Loading on Service 64 (SBS3183L, DD)
Bendemeer Rd - 19 (2/0), 21 (2/0), 26 (6/-1), 26 (4/-4), 26 (1/-1), 28 (3/-1), 30 (3/-1), 26 (1/-5), 25 (2/-3)

Clemenceau Ave - 27 (0/-1), 29 (3/-1)
Havelock Rd - 27 (2/-4), 23 (0/-4), 13 (0/-10) [I alighted here]
64 - bus in front: 27 mins, bus behind: 13 mins
Remarks:
- Loading is relatively almost constant with about 20-30 people onboard the bus
- This service can have lesser DDs and more SDs as SDs can cope well with the Peak Hour demand
- This service really needs to improve in terms of headway between buses
- Surprised that loading is still quite low even though the bus was quite far behind the front bus
Originally posted by JKYY:Just out of curiosity, what happened to the DDs on 103?
still have, only 1 unit all along which is a S shift bus
all others spotted are unofficial upsize in the event where there is not enough SDs

147 is the only route to run parallel to NEL (main one). Sidekicks is service 27, 65 and 107. If some of the routes are not cut due to NEL rationalisation, such as say 85, 501, 511 and 512, then these will be the best. 501 has the good potential to go MBS and Shenton Way not just KPE, better than 502 who has to go through MBS and Shenton Way.

Hi mr carbikebus, so now it seems that LTA really made the right move again. Previously lots of people even suggested LTA was foolish to introduce 324 and 102 two different services. There were many people calling in this forum for the 2 services to be merged saying it was a plain waste of resources. It seems now that the decision is vindicated. The planning looks to be long-term as it was gradually tied to the development around that area of Hougang/upper serangoon. To think I was still being questioned much earlier for sticking to 2 different services 102 and 324. Cheers. Thanks.

Yes bro you are right. There are around 5-6 trips in the AM and PM when loading goes 50+ pax apart from that most times loading is under 30 pax.
I still feel would have been good to have 102 and have 102A operate during peak hours to cater to additional demand rather than having 2 routes covering the same area. If demand increases further, can always add a new service or modify existing service to cater to the area. Simple changes could have been like extending 113 to Sengkang via Upper Serangoon or extend 132/153 to terminate Compassvale.

Excellent DD utilization. 80+ pax at Pasir Ris and then again 80+ pax at Punggol. Hence, I feel svc 3 should get more DDs.

Svc 3 just need 8 DD from current 6,Sat need DD too but lta didnt want to give.
Svc 82 & 136 need 2 split DD...
Sat freq for svc 3 is 12-14 mins per bus,No DD at all unlike Sundays and Holidays..
Svc 82 can deploy 1 full and 1 split DD given its freq,Ive seen packed to the door Citaro before..Svc 136 also can deploy 2-3 DD.Svc 83 & 85 doesn't justified full DD at all.

Hi mr carbikebus, 45 pax is considered good enough for a single deck bus service. Even 30 people is considered not bad. You cannot always expect more than 60 people for a feeder service.
Take note mr xxx loading shows substantial no of people alighting at upper serangoon crew and upper serangoon view. This shows that 324 and 102 should remain 2 separate services as they don’t go to same area as claimed. Cheers. Thanks.
