explain sv 83, preparing for Compassvale Cape ah?
Hi mr sbs6750E, 85 DD for Sengkang west residents. 83 maybe added bonus for Punggol central residents due to spike in no of flats there. Also don't know why so many DDs for 83. Anyway good lor. I benefit as a result. Now Punggol central/Punggol east 3/83/85/50 all 4 services have DDs. Hope next to go is 386 which certainly needs DDs at peak hours. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr sbs6750E, now shiok already. Every weekday morning get to sit in DD bus for service 3. No need to squeeze like last time. Frankly speaking, I am not sure how many DDs LTA put on service 3 route. Cheers. Thanks.
All, I was waiting for smrt 969 at tampines interchange today afternoon 5.25pm. There was a super long queue which snaked super long until it reached the other berth. Few mins later, a SD came. Only half the queue boarded and as soon as all the seats in SD were taken up, nobody wanted to board anymore. The bus driver just closed the doors and moved off. Nowadays people are getting very pampered already. Nobody wants to stand on SMRT 969. All just want to sit down. Cheers. Thanks.

Sometimes it also depends on the people in the queue, have you seen before similarly long queues for 969, yet the people all board the SD that arrives, packing it to the brim?
Which is why 969 should ideally be full DD fleet! Will help to remove loading inconsistencies which is unique to 969s departing from Tampines ...

Thanks to the 'smart' LTA which planned snail bus schedules for 969 on TPE/SLE.

I don't think I would call this example "pampered". If you are traveling to Khatib or Yishun, where most will alight, why will they want to stand for next 45 minutes especially with unpredictable traffic along TPE.
969 should be full fleet DD as it has bi directional high loading. Okay to reduce 2 buses.
I have to ride 83 in PM now, really have to see loading given it's getting almost full fleet DD.
dupdup, can you do loading analysis on 83?

Hi mr busanalyser, this example is considered pampered. As usual, a portion (though not significant) will alight at TPE stop. So basically some of the people at tampines interchange can still board service 969 and stand for 12 min until TPE stop. After that, they will have a seat.
Last time there is no DD but people still cramp on 969 single deck. So this is due more to people perception. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr busanalyser, no problem. Shall do 1 time weekday 8pm and 1 time weekend 8pm. Cheers. Thanks.

Possible to do weekday between 5.30 and 7.30 pm? That's the true reflection of peak hour. 8pm will already be off-peak and will not be the right benchmark.

Those staying at Compassvale Cape, wouldn't it be better for them to take
43/43M from Buangkok MRT rather than 83 from Sengkang and then walk from Compassvale St.
Moreover, the time taken by 83 from Sengkang Interchange to Sengkang East Road would be similar to that taken by 43/43M from Buangkok to Sengkang East Road.

Hi mr busanalyser, for weekday 5.30-7.30pm, I am still working. Unlikely to be able to do at this time slot. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr sbs6750E, I think only around 55 pax from Punggol and Sengkang at most 45 pax. Don't have so many! Cheers. Thanks.
Imho,Svc 83 doesn't deserved majority DDs,Its a waste of resource..What I proposed is
Weekdays:6 AM/PM 3 SS (Full day 4 SD and 2 DD & Split 2 DD and 1 SD)
Saturdays & Sundays:6 AM/PM 2 TQ (Full day 3 DD and 3 SD & 2 SD and 1 DD for TQ)
119
Weekdays:7 AM/PM 2 SS (Full day all SD & 2 DD for split)
Saturdays & Sundays:7 AM/PM 1 TQ (Full day all SD & 1 DD for TQ)
82
Weekdays:7 AM/PM 2 SS (Full day all SD & 2 split DD)
Saturdays & Sundays:7 AM/PM 1 TQ (Full day 6 SD and 2 DD & 1 SD for TQ)
136
Weekdays:14 AM/PM 5 SS (Full day all SD & 3 DD and 2 SD for split)
Saturdays & Sundays:13 AM/PM 4 TQ (Full day 11 SD and 2 DD & 3 SD and 1 DD for TQ)

Yes... what you have reported is what I have observed... Usually 83 will get 50-60 pax from Punggol depending on whether sv 3, 85 have called. From Sengkang, it is usually 30-40 pax (may have improved a bit with Compassvale Cape, but need to validate).
