7.54 - 102 pax (+08m)
8.03 - 103 pax (+09m)
* Average frequency: 06-08m.
* Average loading per bus: 104 pax per bus
* 254 loading in PM is not as high but I guess because it is spread over longer hours but AM almost every bus was +100 pax.
* Would be good to have 2 crossover DDs from other service to alleviate the peak hour loading (don't need fleet add as it will be only AM need from 06.30-08.30)

* Average frequency per bus: 06-07m
* Average loading per bus: 99 pax per bus
* Except for one bus that took 48 pax even though it came after 08 mins, mostly all other buses got +100 pax.
* Though I could not take down the loading for 257, it will be similar to 254/255 with almost +100 pax per bus.
* 3 SP DDs can be at Joo Koon Interchange that can do 254, 255, 257 as per need. The queue on these 3 services can be crazy crazy long!

8.03 - 00 pax - SD (+02m)
8.09 - 02 pax - DD (+06m)
* Average frequency: 10-11m
* Average loading per bus: 04 pax per bus. JOKE!!!
* The above is the peak hour loading from Joo Koon. 256 has 3 DDs, 2 SDs. There is no need of SD also from Joo Koon.
* 256 route needs major amendment. Bleeding losses for 04 pax per bus. On Pioneer side also loading is not great. Previous observations from Boon Lay has every bus leave with <10 pax during prime peak.
* Thoughts(?)

Unless 256 has further uses (a la extension to Tuas Checkpoint), should merge it with 258, then get 192 to do the stretch along JW St 61/62. Alternatively can merge it with 194 for a direct service along Jln Ahmad Ibrahim to Joo Koon after Bird Park relocation.
But ... what's the situation at Boon Lay / Pioneer MRT the same time in the morning?

Around 30-35 pax but can easily be merged with 258, where 258 can ply Pioneer Road and Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim to Boon Lay rather than having 2 services when the loading does not justify.
Originally posted by carbikebus:Yea,Even 106 which is supposed a full DD fleets still have 4-5 SDs everyday.In the end just deploy those E500s on J East svc.43M can do well with 4 SDs and 2 DDs considered it already separated from S43 roster.
Those 43M SDs should not be allowed to overtake any 43/43M DDs. During SBST time, the result was always disastrous when this happened.

How to not overtake when 43M runtime is definately not enough especially during mealbreaks?Today i do 6 trips on SG1059M,First 3 trips all between 9-17 mins late..The 4th trip after peak hour runtime almost the same as peak hours resulting 6 mins earlier at Punggol..

How do you calculate loading when you are driving? Do you get this info on your system on the number of pax on board per stop?
Decent loading on most trips.

Fully seated on Citaro is 34,Standees i can estimate up to 20-25 pax.More than that i just estimated only.

Joo Koon Interchange: I was the only person on bus.
After I alighted, bus departed without waiting at Joo Koon with 06 pax boarding at Joo Koon Interchange.
* Peak loading = 38 pax
* Bus departing for Boon Lay = only 6 pax. The bus surely will go all the way empty until JW st 62 where it may get some people towards Boon Lay.
* I still believe 256 is wasted resources. Need to route 258 to cover Pioneer-AYE section, and 192 can cover Boon Lay-Pioneer via st 62. sv 256 can be scrapped altogether.

* Peak loading = 28 pax
* Bus in front = 13 min, bus behind = 12 min.
* I do expect loading to improve with DTL3 but until then I repeat, is there a need to waste resources with 28 pax peak loading during peak hours?? Even a SD can have everyone get a seat with max loading of 28 pax.
* Still believe rather than having 46 running empty from Tampines Interchange, better to extend to Tampines East or merge with suspected 68 to terminate at Pasir Ris
* Has anyone checked with LTA why they are deploying DDs on a service that does not even have standees on a SD?

Hi mr busanalyser, vampire77lim did email LTA for some amendment for service 46 and he posted the reply in LTA BSEP enhancement part 4 thread.
From the reply, we can tell that LTA foresees higher ridership with DTL3 opening in yr 2017. So they will not amend 46 and they put DDs, expecting higher crowds.
Same as what they foresee higher passenger crowds for 117 in future with Canberra MRT up in yr 2019 and spillover crowd from Canberra BTO estates in yr 2017. So they put DDs far ahead first.
Same as what they foresee higher passengers crowds for 119 in future at that time in yr 2012 when Punggol west side is still developing. But they extend 119 up first from Sengkang to Punggol interchange. They changed from SDs to DDs.
So we can roughly gather that LTA always plans ahead first and introduces DDs straightaway even though demand does not justify at present. Cheers. Thanks.

It doesn't make sense to me why they would add DDs first when the loading is strictly SDs and not even a single standee on a SD. Upgrade to DDs whenever in 2017 or 2019 when the demand is there.
I am a big fan of DDs, but don't see a point in wasting resources where not needed. If you have excess DDs then give it to other services such as 58, 59 that still have 40% SDs. Even if not every bus gets 70 pax, at least each bus gets 50+ pax compared to around 20 pax on a sv 46 or 30-40 pax on sv 117.
7.20am at Seletar Camp G 103 towards Yishun... fully packed with 20-30 pax left behind
ex 3110 slot... thanks to some ppl who sleeping in aircon room who say remove DD
And the funny things LTA wanted DDs on 83 & 119😂😂

Hi mr busanalyser, as can be easily witnessed in the above situation, they go ahead with DDs to align with their forecast and move on with it, even though DDs seem to be excessive in the introductory year. Once introduced, they do not revert back. Cheers. Thanks.
