It does not stop at both stops. One is for towards MRT, other towards Punggol Plaza. Hope clarifies. No need 243 or 382 style for 386.
Originally posted by dupdup77:Hi mr busanalyser, service 3 also has many long distance travellers from Punggol central up to pasir ris MRT. Beyond that, no. DDs needed for a more comfortable journey especially given the traffic conditions at TPE during morning and evening peak hours. Service 83 DDs are more of a gimmick. We need reliable services not gimmicks. Keep the gimmicks to yourself, Go Ahead Singapore.
In any way, it is terribly messed up by Go Ahead Singapore as of this moment. Hope the headway between buses of same service improve. We look forward to a better tomorrow and the days ahead. Cheers. Thanks.
Somehow my observation shows Punggol to Pasir Ris, sv 3 does not have many pax. Around 40-50 pax during AM peak, 20-30 pax during PM peak.
Main loading for sv 3 comes within Pasir Ris town (Elias-Pasir Ris-st 21) as a feeder. Even the Pasir Ris-Tampines sector fetches only 30-40 pax at most times.

Punggol to Punggol towns only,After that left with 15 pax,TPE bus stops start again packed till Pasir Ris Int,Then to St 21 packed,Loyang Ave to St 21 als not that packed..

Hi mr busanalyser, morning heavy crowds from Punggol till TPE stop, TPE till pasir ris MRT. Crowds from Punggol and crowds along pasir ris st 71 to pasir ris MRT. Cheers. Thanks.
Originally posted by Sbs6750E:IMO,svc 371 needs DDs more than 83/119. Buses can get 65-75 pax with some pax stranded. Furthermore frequency is not that great. Rivervale Delta BTO coming up next year.
Rivervale Delta already opened though not everyone has moved in yet. Agree 371 is a good candidate to have DDs... Maybe fleet of 3 SDs, 1 DD to start with. Intervals for SD at 07 min and for DD at 09 min.
Loading observation at Tampines Interchange from 5.57 - 6.27pm
291
5.59 - 3099 - 54pax (DD)
6.01 - 7326 - 45pax (DD) +02m
6.07 - 3735 - 58 pax (DD) +05m
6.12 - 8671 - 25 pax (SD) +05m
6.16 - 5319 - 44 pax (DD) +04m
6.18 - 5347 - 22 pax (DD) +02m
6.23 - 8218 - 42 pax (SD) +05m
6.26 - 9828 - 26 pax (DD) +03m
* In 30 minutes, there were 08 buses (6 DDs, 2 SDs) with average frequency of 03-04 mins
* Average loading per bus = 39-40 pax
* Unlike Boon Lay, there could be few pax loading at Tampines Regional Library (transfer pax from 27-168), hence cannot consider Tampines Interchange to be peak loading
* Yet, don't you agree with such high frequency, there is no need of even DDs. SDs can easily take care of the loading with 39-40 pax per bus
* I assume the loading before 6pm will be even lesser as the CBD/industrial estate people would still not have reached Tampines interchange to take bus.
* Too many buses, can cut down 2 SDs and space out the buses at 05 min interval rather than 03-04 min interval.
69 from 6-630pm
6.02 - 8517 - 43 pax (SD)
6.10 - 7361 - 41 pax (DD) +08m
6.22 - 8880 - 58 pax (SD) +12m
6.32 - 9819 - 66 pax (DD) +10m
* 69 loading is a bit more difficult to analyze
- There is 291 covering first 2 stops and calls at a different berth
- There is 293 covering ave 8 stop, calling at a different berth too
- Ave 1 is covered by sv 23
* Hence, most of the loading of 69 is for one stop along ave 5 not covered by 291 and then from other services based on its arrival time
* Given this loading seems decent. 4 buses in 30 mins at frequency of 07-08 mins.
* Average loading per bus = 52 pax.
* I think DDs are doing well on this service because there will be people boarding at Tampines Swimming Pool + Temasek crowd to Bedok.

69 can get at least 80 pax around 7-8pm on fridays. Was onboard SBS9614X, upper deck almost full, lower deck fully seated, with standees

Agree, but also need to note what was the interval between the bus in front? Is this bus delayed?
Sometime front bus breakdown,Late dep etc...

SBS9614X already de-registered last month.
he never said it was last month.

Well but before it was deregistered it could do 69 right...

Loading on sv 43 DD at 610pm from Punggol
Punggol Interchange -- 27 (0/27)
Punggol Central -- 32 (0/5)
Punggol Way -- 21 (-14/3) please note that many chose the bus instead of LRT to Soo Teck, 19 (-6/4)
Sengkang East Road -- 25 (-2/6), 24 (-7/6)
Sengkang Central -- 32 (-4/12) quite a bit of distance between the previous and this stop.
Buangkok MRT -- 76 (-18/62) many people boarded for one stop along SGK Central, wonder why they cannot walk. Surprised to see 62 pax board. Time check: bus in front 43 (16 min), 43M (09 min). Bus behind: 43 (13 min), 43M (06 min)
Buangkok Dr -- 53 (-27/4) again lot of people took 43 for one stop only from MRT
Buangkok Green -- 41 (-16/4), 38 (-6/3), 34 (-4/0), 35 (-6/7)
YCK Road -- 30 (-11/6), 32 (-3/5), 31 (-8/7), 30 (-4/3), 32 (0/2), 32 (0/0), 32 (0/0)
YCK Link -- 32 (-2/2)
Serangoon Central -- 29 (-7/4), 37 (-14/22) NEX
Upper Serangoon Rd -- 38 (0/1)
Upper Paya Lebar Rd -- 28 (-13/3), 26 (-4/2), 25 (-1/0), 24 (-1/0), 28 (0/4)
Paya Lebar Rd -- 31 (0/3), 35 (0/4), 38 (-1/4), 46 (-4/12), 46 (-2/2), 48 (-2/4), 46 (-4/2)
Paya Lebar MRT -- 78 (-19/51) around 27 pax continued beyond Paya Lebar MRT. Time check bus in front. 43 (17 min), 134 (08 min), 135 (02 min). Bus behind: 43 (12 min), 134 (03 min), 135 (12 min). Considering that 135 left just 02 min before, loading still high at Paya Lebar MRT towards Marine Parade
Tanjong Katong Complex -- 72 (-10/4) I alighted here.
* Overall loading comes in 2 peaks. Buangkok MRT and Paya Lebar MRT. In between, the bus just has about 25-40 pax. Opposite direction would have better loading as in peak direction. DDs are doing well.
* Even though bus came 17 mins later previous 43, it does seem that number of pax beyond Paya Lebar MRT was not huge. If previous 76 would be there, loading would have been even lesser (?), hence maybe after evaluating much, LTA decided to change 76 parallelism with 43. Just my guess based on loading.
Sometimes more,43M catchment is Sengkang Ctrl to Buangkok MRT/IMH,Then Buangkok Green to YCK Rd(Factories)..YCK to Serangoon MRT be it 43 or M..
After Marine Parade loading drops.

Yes..

AM. This is a detailed breakdown of 43 loading in Direction 1 in AM peak.
6.30 - 7.15 am: Punggol - Buangkok Green/YCK Rd (pri/sec schools at Buangkok Green)
It seems that most students are taking 43 to the secondary school at the junction of YCK Rd and HG Ave 3.
6.30 - 8.30 am: Buangkok Green - Serangoon MRT (MRT connection)
7.30 - 9.00 am: Sengkang/Buangkok MRT - YCK Rd (Factories)

Try AM from Punggol at 6.30 - 7.00 am or 7.30 - 8.30 am.
7.00 - 7.15 strictly SD loading, unless freq > 10 mins.
Go Ahead a.k.a Go Home Late in trouble already.
30 mins wait for 43/M at YCK Rd towards Punggol.
Then SG5059L on 43M finally arrived at 64101 at 2pm, then some student shouted 'IMH BUS' at the bus stop. Some students skipped the bus (probably because of the IMH bus incident), but I took it anyway.
Then SBS3318R bunched with SG5059L when turning into Buangkok Green.
Anyway, I am not a student at the above stated sec school.

Hi mr busanalyser, as expected, nobody likes to walk. Even for 1 stop. This shows that when planning routes or doing amendment to existing services and providing alternatives, try not to tell people that their only alternative is to walk 1 stop to take another bus. The public will not like such alternatives. Cheers. Thanks.

To get to that stop from Buangkok MRT, you have to cross at least 3 traffic lights. And that stop only has 43/43M.
