Int already chaos with buses yet you want another service? How about 3M looping at Punggol East during peak hours?

Hi mr carbikebus, why not another service? Must maintain the headway between buses. If they keep having 2 buses of same service coming all at same time, interchange will definitely be jammed. 3M is more for direct express between Punggol and pasir ris At peak hours. Loop at Punggol east no use. Cheers. Thanks.

Add more service also no use lah if there is problem with the schedule n the time keepers are not working. (Whereby buses are departing interchange together?)
First day (Sunday) already got ppl complain she wait for sv34 from 540am. First bus came as 5.58am. Can't board cos full. Next bus came at 640am. Also full. Only manage to board 3rd bus at 6.58am. N yet some "go ahead" supporter can still say that there is nothing wrong with the schedule since now LTA is in charge.
386 also can have 20 mins frequency this morning.
I think next package they should handover one service every week.

Hi mr lemon1974, add more service helps a bit. Other bus stops at Punggol central have lesser problems as they have 3/34/83/84/85/136. Only the last two stops have 3/83/85 which is problematic. 386 not counted for last stop because of the 2 roundabouts inside edgefield and edgedale plains. For those living at last stop, they can still walk to Punggol east to take Sbs 50. Anyway give them 1 week to improve the headway between buses of same service. Cheers. Thanks.
Then let SBST take over back lor since Ang Mohs is so insistent in their way?

SBST now happily sit down drink coke eat popcorn watch show only.
Dunno what LTA staff are thinking right now about the go ahead operation. Must be shaking heads n calling emergency meetings.

Just bear with it for 1 week. If the situation doesn't stabilise by next week then...
I hope that more DDs can be deployed for this week on all Go-Ahead services (except 34) as a temporary measure to plug the gaps.

I hope the 17 min wait for 43 today during PM peak does not happen during AM peak.
Oh ya, schedule is planned by LTA or operator? What is planned by LTA?

Hi mr sbs3004X, something is terribly wrong. I went to my house bus stop downstairs and sit for 1 hour. The headway between bus of the same service seems better controlled from 10.30pm to 11.30pm. Reason I am not sure of. Cannot understand also why I saw so many DDs in both directions for service 83 compared to service 3. Something is wrong! 3 is always more crowded than 83. Even service 85 seems to have a major upgrade. So many DDs for 83 and 85 compared to 3. Cheers. Thanks.

If you ask me of the services plying Punggol Central, only sv 386 deserves DDs as during peak hours, the bus may not be able to tank all the pax and is only service catering to Waterway HDBs
3 - even during SBS times, the 2 DDs merely touch 60-70 pax though placed at peak timing
83 - loading may be better at Punggol Central but towards Sengkang is merely 30-35 pax
85 - loading is around 50-55 pax, DDs just nice to have because many long distance travelers, and works well as a Sengkang Intra-town.

Hi mr busanalyser, service 3 also has many long distance travellers from Punggol central up to pasir ris MRT. Beyond that, no. DDs needed for a more comfortable journey especially given the traffic conditions at TPE during morning and evening peak hours. Service 83 DDs are more of a gimmick. We need reliable services not gimmicks. Keep the gimmicks to yourself, Go Ahead Singapore.
In any way, it is terribly messed up by Go Ahead Singapore as of this moment. Hope the headway between buses of same service improve. We look forward to a better tomorrow and the days ahead. Cheers. Thanks.

Service 3 needs half DDs at least. Of all services why DDs on 83 and 119?
Observations of 179, 243G and 256 at Boon Lay
Timing: 530 - 605pm
179
5.35 - 44 pax
5.40 - 46 pax
5.43 - 28 pax
5.47 - 34 pax
5.54 - 54 pax
5.59 - 41 pax
6.04 - 44 pax
* Frequency: 04-05 mins, all DDs.
* It was interesting to see that average loading at Boon Lay was 42 pax. I am sure there will be more people boarding at Pioneer to go to Pioneer Road North and NTU Campus.
* For me this is good loading as 179 seems to have bi-directional high loading
243G
5.33 - 45 pax (DD)
5.37 - 64 pax (SD)
5.41 - 57 pax (SD)
5.44 - 69 pax (DD)
5.49 - 59 pax (DD)
5.52 - 57 pax (SD)
5.56 - 69 pax (SD)
6.01 - 91 pax (DD)
6.03 - 43 pax (SD)
* Observed 4 DDs, 5 SDs within 30 mins at a frequency of 03-04 mins
* Average loading per bus = 62 pax
* Note that unlike 179, Boon Lay Interchange would be the peak loading for this service as many pax alight along first two stops itself.
* Overall good loading even at a consistent frequency of 03-04 mins (that too the evening peak had just kicked in. Those coming from CBD, would actually fall in the timing from 6-730pm.
* Will do future observation from 615-650pm or so.
256
5.39 - 11 pax (DD)
5.47 - 02 pax (DD)
5.58 - 04 pax (SD)
* Average frequency: 10 mins
* Average loading: 05-06 pax
* As mentioned many times before, 256 originating from Boon Lay is a waste of resources. Clearly shows how 243G/W have packed buses while 256/258 leave empty from interchange
Seriously 83 and 119 doesn't need any DDs at all..
Full DD fleets will be 43 & 118,Majority DDs will be 62.
4-5 DDs will be 3 and 136.2 DDs will be 386.43M can survived with all SDs if 43 runtime is frequent..Svc 3 ideal fleets is DD-SD-SD-DD-SD-SD-SD-DD-SD-SD-SD-SD-DD-DD
-SD-SD-SD-DD-SD.

Hi mr carbikebus, hope service 386 gets its DDs soon. Just as what I have predicted it will get many months ago before they make the extension to edgedale plains. Cheers. Thanks.
Observations of 243W and 258 at Boon Lay
Timing: 6.06-6.40pm
243W
6.08 - 46 pax (SD)
6.11 - 44 pax (DD)
6.16 - 46 pax (DD)
6.17 - 07 pax (DD)
6.25 - 68 pax (SD)... more in queue
6.31 - 67 pax (SD) ... more in queue
6.34 - 88 pax (DD) ... some in queue stopped by ground staff
6.36 - 87 pax (DD)
6.39 - 78 pax (DD)
* 9 buses in 35 mins at frequency of 04 mins, observed 06 DDs, 03 SDs
* Somehow the SDs were late causing a long snaking queue that could not be cleared. DDs came and cleared the queue.
* Average loading per bus = 59 pax (a bit lower than 243G that has 62 pax)
* Overall 243W is doing well with current fleet except for few bus delay caused by SDs. Also seems like real PM peak loading started from 620pm after which the buses got really full, before that buses had around 40-45 pax.
258
6.14 - 08 pax
6.21 - 17 pax
6.33 - 06 pax
* 03 buses came at frequency of 10-12 mins. All DDs.
* Average loading per bus = 10 pax per bus (better than 256 that had 05-06 pax per bus).
* Another waste of resources to have 258 start from Boon Lay Interchange

386 is now at a stage where DDs make sense for it. Especially since the Waterway HDBs are far away from interchange, people will also go upper deck.
My proposal is to launch 386A with DDs during PM peak terminating at the Waterway HDBs along Edgedale Plains while 386 does the loop around Punggol Plaza.
03 buses for 386 operating at 14-15 mins
02 buses for 386A operating at 14-15 mins.
Overall the high loading sector between Punggol Interchange and Waterway will be at 07-08 mins frequency.

Svc 3 act like feeders mostly,No need half fleet DDs..14 SDs and 5 DDs including peak hours enough..What we need is 3A Tampines Int-Pasir Ris Dr 12 for 5 trips during certain timings.3B which is Pasir Ris Dr 12-Pasir Ris Int during peak hours and new 3M from Punggol Int-Punggol East-Punggol Field-Punggol Int during peak hours.
