I dont think his data is rly so skewed bah... 46 indeed has low demand out of tampines, even during friday night crowds a bus could receive less than 5-10 pax both directions at 85 market...

Most of the pax were adults.

A peak loading of just 5 pax?
I would categorise this service 46, as well as 116, as 'cannibal services'. They duplicate other bus services and are meant to 'cannibalise' other services' pax rather than eat the MRT pax).
Yes. Weekday peak hour observations have peak loading of 15-17 pax from Tampines - UEC. Most buses leave Tampines Interchange with 0 pax on board.
Such a waste to deploy DDs. Can do with full fleet SD.
Agreed,46 for now can use Scania K230UBs and Citaros.
Monday PM observation on sv 172
Two DD timings 5.06pm, 5.38pm. I took the 5.38pm one to CCK.
Boon Lay Interchange -- 39 (0/39)
JW St 64 -- 39 (0/0)
Jalan Boon Lay -- 39 (0/0), 41 (0/2)
Jalan Bahar -- 44 (-3/6), 47 (-2/5), 47 (-3/3), 52 (0/5), 54 (0/2) aft Nanyang ave, 54 (0/0), 73 (0/19) opp bus stop also had many people, mostly in police uniform, 84 (0/11), 84 (0/0)
I was amazed that bus already had +80 pax at Jalan Bahar before hitting Old CCK Road. Expected bus to get +100 pax.
Old CCK Road -- 81 (-3/0), 81 (0/0), 81 (0/0), 81 (0/0), 81 (0/0), 82 (0/1) at least 10 pax waiting for 975, 86 (0/4) around 20 pax at bus stop who did not board, 88 (0/2), 88 (0/0), 88 (0/0)
Surprisingly all along Old CCK Road only 7 pax boarded while around 40-50 pax waited for 975 and chose not to board. 975 frequency seems good because could spot at least 5 buses on 975/975A in opposite direction just along Old CCK Road.
Bus stops in opposite direction at Keat Hong Camp and Home Team Academy had around 30-40 pax (I assume all these are for 172 as 975A had just called the bus stop).
There is huge dormitary under construction b/w Home Team Academy and Brickland Road. It is HUGE. I think it could be getting built in anticipation of work for future Tengah town.
Brickland Road -- 86 (-2/0), 84 (-4/2)
CCK Ave 1 -- 80 (-6/2), 76 (-6/2), 72 (-6/2), 67 (-8/3), 62 (-7/2)
CCK Dr -- 54 (-8/0)
CCK Interchange -- 00 (-54/0)
* Bus in front = 08 mins
* Bus behind = 06, 04 mins.
* Average frequency noted is 06-08 mins on sv 172 which is excellent and hence it is doing okay with SDs also. Though DDs do well given that most commuters are long distance travelers.
Dear Friends,
I am conducting a Survey related to Singapore transportation for academic purpose.
Please help me.
Thanks.

Yes the sungei tengah lodge in LCK had been bringing in more ppl onboard 172 and 975 towards CCK esp morning peak... SMRT seems to be doing well with the downroutes, just almost fully packed buses that are from LCK and fully seated buses from downroutes from Brickland Rd area

Are the downroutes from Brickland Road to CCK still done by 972 crossover DDs?

Tampines Interchange -- 04 (0/4)... haha thank God there is some boarding
Tampines Ave 5 -- 16 (0/12), 21 (0/5)
Tampines St 83 -- 19 (-4/2), 15 (-5/1)
Tampines Ave 3 -- 14 (-3/2), 11 (-5/2)
Tampines Ave 4 -- 11 (-3/3)
Bedok Reservoir Road -- 11 (0/0), 10 (-3/2)
Bedok North Ave 3 -- 10 (-2/2), 09 (-2/1)
Bedok North Road -- 11 (-1/3), 10 (-4/3), 7 (-3/0), 7 (0/0)
New Upper Changi Rd -- 6 (-3/2)
Bedok South Ave 3 -- 8 (0/2), 4 (-4/0), 0 (-4/0)
UEC -- 0 (0/0), 0 (0/0) all the way.
* Peak loading = 21 pax @ Tampines Ave 5, 11 pax @ Bedok North Road
* All buses in opposite direction have <20 pax
* You can draw your own conclusions!!
Loading on sv 47 DD @ 18.55 from Changi Business Park Central
Changi Business Park Central -- 41 (0/33)
Changi South Ave 2 -- 63 (0/22)
Changi South Ave 1 -- 68 (-4/9)
Xilin Ave -- 70 (0/2)
New Upper Changi Rd East -- 74 (0/4), 74 (0/0)
Tanah Merah MRT -- 57 (-39/22)
Bedok South Ave 3 -- 54 (-7/4) I alighted here!!
* Peak loading = 74 pax
* For those who feel I put loading to suit my comments, you can verify with the following bus details - bus # 3969L, driven by an extremely nice & friendly women BC who greeted everyone boarding the bus with a smile.
* Humble request: Wish people do their ground work, before start commenting on loading of services.
* That's why I keep insisting that 47 is still fine with DDs as there is peak our demand, unlike 46 and many other services that don't need it.

In the first place, not many people were queueing for 8, 23, 46 and 81 at Tampines Int that is why they are denying WAB until 31A relocated on 27 December 2015.
I think there could be another social problem - Tampines Ave 5, Ave 4, Central 1 better.

Yes. That's my suggestion as well.
Tampines St 83
Tampines Ave 5
Tampines Ave 4
Tampines Ave 7
Tampines Central
Tampines Ave 4 & back..
** There is Tampines Stadium & Hawker Center under construction that will open in Q4.
** It will give direct connection to Century Square (right outside)
** It will connect to Tampines Regional Library

Wakakakaka..
Just how much can an overloaded O405G Habit BD carries? (Includes pax standing on all 3 stairs).
Svc 856 normally got full HC buses at Sembawang MRT area at night timings towards Senoko. Yesterday, there are about 130+ pax (estimate) with 15 stranded when BD leave the bus stop along Canberra Rd after Sembawang Vista, despite the 10min frequency from Yishun Int. Since only a short stretch is affected, is there a potential SWT for Svc 856 during that hour? Or will operating Svc 981 at night (Full SDs) towards Senoko help the situation?

AM peak, the OC doing the 725AM (around that time) timing (on 18/8 was SMB87K) always have problem as it is always crowded for that trip.
BC activate two door boarding throughout the whole journey. Bus was packed by the time it left Lot One bus stop, and only a few passengers managed to board the bus from the rear door at the first CCK Ave 1 bus stop. It skipped the 2nd bus stop and as there are people alighting at the 3rd bus stop, a few pax managed to board from the rear door again at that stop... Bus again skipped the stop at Sunshine place onwards until HTA...
Bus have no loading problems after HTA though it was roughly 3/4 full throughout the whole journey.
IIRC both front and back bus are bendies and frequency is 8 mins at that time..
Interesting thing to note is that along the route that duplicates with 308, there are no alighting activities, which was common for 172 when there was no 308 last time.. so i guess those going to those few stops took the 308 behind (trailing behind SMB87K).. so indeed 308 has helped to relieve the crowd for 172 at least for AM peak...
Marine Parade has so many bus services, but only 36 and 196 go to city area, and 36 does not have DDs. This explains the crazy loading on 196.

36 have problems with DD - Benjamin Sheares Bridge, Tanjong Katong Road South and Changi Airport.
That is why, I don't want to bother that much.

You have problems - posting rubbish information that are never true, stating the obvious and behaving like a child.
That is why, I don't want to bother about you that much.

I guess it does not have DDs because 36 does not go to IMH.

854 ideal fleet is 18 DDs and 8 SDs
