Hahahaa
Loading on sv 969 from 632 - 721pm.
6:40 - 1065p - 96p (bendy) + 09m
6:44 - 3548C - 91p (DD) +04m
6:53 - 3547E - 84p (DD) +09m
7:04 - 317Y - 57p (SD) +11m. After 40pax boarded, people in queue refused to board inspite of long snaking queue. Most people want seat. All others who boarded were standees. Fail to have rigid do this time slot.
7:10 - 5892U - 87p (DD) +06m. Still have around 50-60 pax in queue. People do not want to board as they want a seat even if standing space is available
7:19 - xxx - 63p (SD) +09m. Forgot the rigid number. This time around 55 pax boarded from queue. BC shut the door once the bus was packed, even though there were more people who wanted to stand. Again failure to send rigid. At 7:14 another E500 came and was in parking. So I expect the next bus would be at 7:24 but I left by then. Sure to get 80+ pax as the queue had around 50-60 pax when i left.
* Clearly SMRT needs to learn from SBST and have full fleet DD/bendy for sv 969 as it does on sv 161/168 even though their loading is lower than 969's.

Woodlands or Tampines?

Loading on sv 293 towards ave 3
6:39 - 8685Y (SD)- 29p +05m
6:43 - 7661Y (DD) - 27p +04m
6:47 - 6442J (SD) - 43p +04m
6:56 - 3290K (DD) - 108p +09m. Lot of people went upper deck. At least have 40+ pax on upper deck.
7:01 - 3828K (DD) - 40p +05m. Many people went to upper deck even if only 40 pax boarded bus
7:02 - 6455H (SD) - 09p +01m
7:11 - 6801S (SD) - 70p +09m
7:13 - 8683C (SD) - 22p +02m
7:17 - 8686U (SD) - 37p +04m
* Way too many buses on sv 293
* On average there is bus every 03-04 mins.
* Loading per bus = 43 pax (385/09)
* This means a full fleet SD can also take the loading v easily of sv 293 with so many buses added
* Please note this is prime peak hour for 293. The loading will be even more poor at other time slots
* Can make fleet of 14 buses with more DDs or keep as it is and remove DDs.
* DDs are getting well utilized. Many people go to upper deck. Guess Tampinesers are used to DDs and going upper deck.
Btw after 5892U is 318U.

U will never this kind of snake queue at woodlands for 969. Only 161/168 have snake queue during peak hour

Thanks I forgot. Such a terrible mistake to put a rigid at that time slot when every bus gets 80+ pax.

Too bad 317Y n 318U are full day whereas those bendy and DD are all split shift

Umm... What does "+05m" mean?

Previous bus left 5 minutes ago.

Most feeders on an average take 40-50 pax during peak hours. This is because many buses have been added to feeders, many operating at 03-05 mins interval.
Even super high loading services like 293 have so many buses that during prime peak, average per bus is 43 pax. This is with DDs. Same is situation with even Woodland feeders/intra-towns.
969 peak hour loadings is from Tampines..Its best to kapo those A95s from Bulim first.
Fleet of 14 A95s and 9 E500s from Wldep and 5 OC500LEs from Amdep is better

Great loading analysis, I agree that many feeders are spammed with way too many buses, I think 291 can operate on full DD fleet (11-12 DDs) and 293 can cut 2-3 SDs
Same issue here in the west at BNL, in my opinion, 242 and 243G/W have too many buses during peak hour, 243G/W can swap all the WAB SDs for 1 DD each, I haven't did a loading test for 240 though

Thanks. It is really the same case for 240, 242, 243G/W, 333, 335. 241 and 334 is a bit different. They haven't spammed many buses on these services but maintained full fleet DD which is right thing to do. The same should have been done with 240, 243, 291, 293 instead of spamming so many buses, clogging interchange, roads, wasting fuel and BC resources.

Absolute stupidity on their part not to deploy DDs on these services. But now with 261 with 8 buses and 269, 315 having 13 buses, no need for DD unless they cut back few buses.

still DDs are not deployed to services with snaking queues like 103 and 265
265,268 and 315 candidates to get DDs but again can they use the three doors version?
SBST is not having a lack of DDs, but an excess of SDs. I wonder if they want to waste the lifespan of DM3500s.
Services that require DD upgrades:
265, 268, 315, 386
Services that require DD upgrades + fleet adds:
43, 62, 103
Services that require SD downgrades:
119
Services that require SD fleet cuts:
291, 293, 315

103 already has a small number of DDs.. plus with 117 to split the load, demand is quite well taken care of.
same for 265 with so many SDs added through BSEP, dont think DDs are needed already.
