Note: The following observations were made on Sunday, 29 May 2016.
- Quite surprised to see such loading on Sunday night and when there's 3 in front (which also calls at interchange)
- At this time mainly acts as feeder to PSR Dr 3/4, with a few pax going to Dr 1
- A few pax may have used 17 to Changi General Hosp or all the way to Bedok
Originally posted by array88:Note: The following observations were made on Friday, 27 May 2016.
At 8.15am, 49 DD turning from Jurong West St 51 to Lakeside MRT: Upper deck seemed full, lower deck 75% packed (estimated at least 70-80 pax)
At 9.14am, 151 DM3500 at Clementi Rd crossing Commonwealth Ave West towards Kent Ridge was fully packed. (However there's a DD at the back which I couldn't see loading)
49 AM loading towards Lakeside MRT is quite good (70-90 pax). But PM loading from Lakeside towards Jurong West district is usually between 50-60 pax.
49 AM and PM loading between Jurong Lake District and Lakeside MRT is quite good (70-90 pax).
49 loading to/fro from Jurong East Interchange is quite poor (10-20 pax) at almost all timings of peak hours inclusive AM/PM peak.
The extension of 49 to Jurong East was a bad call. Loading is poor and the DDs are getting wasted on this stretch. Would have been better to have another service instead from Taman Jurong to Jurong East via Boon Lay Way.
Loading on sv 134 @ 07.20am from Opp Parkway Parade DD
Marine Parade Rd -- 06, 03 (-3/0)
Marine Crescent -- 08 (-1/6)
Marine Terrace -- 15 (-2/9), 19 (0/4)
Marine Parade Rd -- 26 (-1/8), 31 (0/5), 41 (-1/11), 49 (-5/13)
Amber Rd -- 54 (-2/7)
Tanjong Katong Rd -- 57 (0/3), 57 (-3/3), 66 (0/9), 70 (-4/8)
Paya Lebar RD -- 39 (-35/4), 21 (-25/7)
* Around 10 pax go from Tanjong Katong/Marine Parade to Geylang East/Sims.
* Marine Terrace doesn't seem to have so much loading to house two services (134/150). In fact, after 134 called the bus stops, there was NO one waiting for sv 150
* Upper deck was 60% full with people from MP/Amber going to Paya Lebar. SD can tank the load, but DD comes in handy to pull in all the pax on last stop of Tanjong Katong. Same observation during PM peak in opp direction.
* People alight along 2 MRT stops: more go to take CCL I believe (35 pax alighted) compared to 25 pax for stop closer to EWL. But first stop could also be pax alighting to transfer to other services to go further north on Paya Lebar.
150 extend to Upp East Coast better..

258 could be more successful if they just swap the berths at BNL, I believe 258 can hit 80 pax loading during peak
I'll add in Svc 253, I would say is Medium-High as DDs are well utilised during peak hours with a small crowd boarding it to and from Joo Koon during lunch hours
For Svc 99, the Joo Koon extention is successful in improving the service realibility on 99 (though 99 DDs still bunch a lot but frequency has improved significantly with a fleet add of 6 AP buses, loading wise is decent), 99 can remove all the SDs and replace with 3 DDs
It is notable that the SDs on 99, most of them are placed on back to back slots during peak hours
Edit: I waited for 243G around 3:30pm and I waited for 243G, a queue formed as the bus took 08mins to arrive and 258 arrived before 243G, about 50% of the queue jumped to 258 but 243G still left with approx 20pax, 258 left with about 25-30 pax

141? Most likely under "Medium" I suppose.
Service 118 berth at Punggol with at least 30 pax at 2 pm, with whole line occupied. SBS3473A took more than 1 min to take all the pax.

123?
859A: medium as 859A & 859 come at a frequency of 5 mins bus after bus
859B: fairly high as this one comes later than 859A, in addition to the 5 - 15 min frequency to wait for 859 from Yishun to pass by the interchange

256: Failed to take off
258: Should not be judged on Boon Lay loading as it just duplicated, but the loading at Pioneer MRT towards st 81/82 is disappointing.
Loading on sv 150 @ 18.20 hours from Eunos Interchange
Eunos Interchange -- 15 (0/15)
Changi Rd -- 29 (0/14)
Still Road -- 31 (0/2)
Joo Chiat Rd -- 25 (-6/0)
Tehlok Karau Rd -- 19 (-8/2), 14 (-5/0), 12 (-2/0), 7 (-5/0)
Marine Parade Rd -- 5 (-2/0)
Marine Crescent -- 2 (-3/0)
Marine Terrace -- 1 (-2/1), 1 (0/0)
* sv 150 loading is reasonable (like 116/120 etc.) towards Tehlok Karau (eating into 15/155)
* The part of route that is unique - Marine Crescent/Terrace had only 5 pax and only 1 pax boarding back towards Eunos. Further the 3 pax alighting at Marine Crescent also has sv 13 from Eunos
* Bad move just to compensate for sv 76

But for that stretch of Compassalve also have LRT and 83.
Still can manage with the peak hour frequency,No need for DDs la 371..

Hi mr sbs6750E, crowd is coming and going to rivervale drive. One of the two bus services going inside. Sbs 371 is direct while sbs 86 is indirect. Cheers. Thanks.

Still, if LTA wanted, they could just build a pair of bus stops along TPE between Rivervale Cres and Edgedale Plains and make select services with links to both Sengkang and Punggol (excluding super high-loading ones) stop there.

The two pair of TPE bus stops already cause additional run time and buses had a hard time during peak hours and now you want another pair of expressway bus stops?Later buses runtime very slow then you all will complain again why need expressway bus stops

Consider AYE. The stops are directly along the side of the expressway.
Besides, I did mention that only the services without super high loading will stop there, for a start. Then adjust the stopping and non-stopping services depending on the situation.
Casual observation:
Service 18 has some 30+ pax on board from Bedok North Ave 3 to Bedok Int at 11:30am today (Sunday). 8 boarded at North Ave 3 (34). 5 alighted along Bedok North Rd (29). 2 boarded and 2 alighted at North Ave 2 (29).

141: Medium
123 is getting more and more pax towards HarbourFront from Bt Purmei, although still arguably less than Tiong Bahru stretch.
131 has lost its loading from Bt Purmei to HarbourFront due to 123. But still have substantial loading from Telok Blangah Way and Henderson Rd to HarbourFront.

The best thing is to introduce back feeder to Bt Purmei and delete 131M and make 131 skip Bt Purmei.

Two pairs? Only one side have the bus stops. The side which 161 plies doesn't have.
