Originally posted by dupdup77:Hi mr sbs6750E, that time before sbs 85 got DDs, they announce that sengkang west MP Dr Lam lobbied hard for it. At that time, there was only sbs 85 along that sector and it was single deck some more. The single deck sbs 85 was very crowded during peak hours, being the only service. So DDs for sbs 85 was given. The MP continued to lobby for more bus services for his estate and LTA provides for another new service sbs 102 and also opened kupang LRT station for revenue service. Cheers. Thanks.
Let me just say that there is no political intervention for the introduction of Double-Deckers on 85.
Otherwise you would've seen posters all around saying 85 got fleet upgrade, as per usual for PAP people.
103 really need 4 split shift DDs..The loadings during peak hours is terrible.Off peak single decker can manage well.

Hi mr sbs2656X, noted for your comments. However the guy Facebook page at that time did mention request for DDs. Cheers. Thanks.

maybe the government should consider having another service link it to sengkang or pungol interchange. instead. a loop service will be good or have 86 loop there instead of going to sengkang or 163 to loop there.

the DDs are placed on the wrong timings and are not the highest loading ones

Agreed..

What do you mean by that? sv 50 is almost full fleet DD with 14 DDs and only 2 Citaros operating. So how is it a wrong timing? Please clarify both cbb and 6853s.

in terms of 103. not 50. referring to ur statement below
also, if you spot 103 at the same timings now as u did previously, u wont see DDs anymore...
Might as well introduce 103M from Serangoon to Seletar and loop back again during peak hours. Works when 103 separated from 103M then those travelling towards Yishun have a seat in the bus. Though might need about 6 DDs for that

Will work though the passengers travelling towards Yishun will be neglected. The bus also gets packed towards Yishun for the 5.35pm trip departing West Camp for Yishun
Btw has 117 helped to relieve 103 given that it now enters West Camp and enters Yishun? It should not be a problem since the bus service has lots of Wrights

I boarded Svc 117 last Saturday around 6.35pm.. My bus (SBS 6750 E) had full seating load... When reach Yishun Ave 1, the loads picked up at the bus stop at The Shaugnessy and after Orchid Country Club...
Maybe it is because I took the bus on a Saturday so my observation may not justify the loading...
