Read on zaobao that a 49 year old vintage STC Nissan Diesel bus was recently found abandoned at a scrapyard. It was in very bad shape. LTA has salvaged the bus and managed to restore it. Finding parts for this bus was difficult, especially the wheels and axle. The authorities spend several weeks sourcing for compatible parts. This vintage bus will be featured on a public bus carnival beginning next month
Looking forward to it!

Wheels not even close to the original size. They put the wide body on a truck chassis.
Rego plates on the front, rear and sides are ORIGINAL.
Also, it's already on display. Not sure if they covered it up already since.
Look like fabricating gone wrong.
seriously, how come nobody feels that this is a waste of money? unless, they intend to put this bus on "world tour", by deploying it on some bus routes... like that hybrid bus (Volvo B5RLE)...
anyway, it seems that the colour has been leaked out...
it looks like lush green is the chosen one.
seriously, in a place full of trees, green buses tend to "camouflage"... and it's quite hard to see... I know bright red kinda makes the eyes "burn" la... but at least red colour easier to see, in a place filled with greens...

I'm sure it is easy to spot something green that's moving in the middle of the tarmac.

Should be a shell since it's for display purposes only.
it a nice bus during the old time. japanese bus was the only one on public service with engine behind. this type of nissian bus use to on service in toa payoh. service 158 and 143 sometime other service. i think bedok old interchange still had some of them in the 80s. there is a picture somewhere in internet showing a feeder bus in bedok using this type bus.

The noisiest buses in the entire SBS fleet back then. They were commonly found in Bt Merah, Buona Vista, Bt Batok, CCK, Bt Panjang, Hougang, Punggol and eastern areas.
I like the Merc OF1413s though.
