Hi mr smb1368T, there is 39, 161, 168, 858, 969 where you can transfer to an alavanche of services 3, 88, 89, 109 along the TPE corridor/Punggol road to go pasir ris if 39 does not go the destination which you prefer. Cheers.
TIB1052B with hand-written interior rego..
TIB1088Z "Door closing" bells aren't working for both exit doors..
TIB1105H back on service last week with a new rear, new Give Way stix placed outside..
SMB283K has got a tinted blue rear window.. Rear SPAD stix also missing..
SMB189A, SMB190U, SMB248M, SMB348H, SMB349E, TIB958U - TIB963D, TIB965Z, TIB967T - TIB972C are seen parking at WLBP..
I am not talking about going to Pasir Ris; I am talking about going back to the north. 161 does not go to Punggol Rd bus stop leh..if you want to go there you have to take 89 and cross the road. Even so confirm you cannot have seat in the bus which is what the 969 passengers are doing everytime
SMB3062L in Lush Green livery, with SBST Give Way stix at the rear..

And even for the shorter 161, 24 buses, which is 3/2 of 23's fleet?
Very simple. Sv23 round trip is 32km. Sv161 round trip is 47km, sv168 round trip is 61km. So this explain why sv161/168 have much more buses while all 3 of them have 5-6 mins frequency during peak period.

That's not a reason. There is only ONE bus svc to and fro Sgoon Rd area and the far east. All others are winding and is not an option for many.
Many ppl work at the agencies at Sgoon Rd. There are the Mustafa shoppers. Not to mention the crowds that transfer to the NEL to get to places from Boon Keng (explains the horrific load there). Tampines is one of the largest (if not the largest) neighbourhood in the east. OBVIOUSLY the demand is there!
Even if so. Explain why 161 has so many buses then? Its loading during off peak isnt exactly high, not to mention it has many subsitutes in the north (though not at woodlands).

Ok true but also need to recognise 23 is known for erratic traffic conditions... Eg. PIE and S'goon Rd jams... Which lengthens travel time...
Yes 161/168 also have but only that small stretch of SLE... Most of the expy dont give them problems unlike 23, half its expy sector is highly jam prone...
Originally posted by carbikebus:No of pax even during off peak..23 i think only peak hours while off leak moderate..Weekends i think more than 16 buses.
According to wiki sat/sun only 10/11 buses respectively... Obv cannot handle shoppers crowds!
SBST really needs to look into 23... Either boost freq by adding buses or improve its reliability, preferably done by setting terminus in the central area...

Hi mr smb1368T, if you are talking about going back to north, there are many ways to do it. The reverse method still holds true.
For the paragraph above, I think you mean sbs 161 does not go to TPE bus stop. Because 161 did really go to Punggol road bus stop. Yes you need alight and cross road.

Power power,Hahaha welcome for SMRT BCs who prone to fast buses..

Actually, I see no issue with 83 remaining at Punggol.
Punggol Bus Interchange currently has 38 parking bays, and there are only 14 bus services.
There is still space for more bus services at Punggol - although probably not enough in future when Punggol is more developed.
IMO, the problem with Punggol Bus Interchange is with the traffic flow, or poor management of buses, because from the looks of it, there are more buses than what is needed during peak periods... the possible reasons could be bus brunching, etcetera.

Hi Mr SMB128B, people can board the train, it is whether they choose to. Besides, the North-East region has many JCs, two Polys, two ITEs and several industrial areas (eg. Ubi). Why have to come all the way to the West to study/work? Anyway, travelling between the North-East and the West takes up to 1.5 hours only. This is the norm for people living in cities elsewhere, where they have to travel around 1 hour between their house and their workplace. On the bright side, at least you can exercise. I know of people who live in the North-East but study/work in the West, and almost all of them are quite slim. Cheers. Thanks.
