If BPJ ITH meant for 12-13 bus svc then there is chances for future new service.
979 fleet might be 4 A22 and 3 E500 for a start while for 983 extension might be 2 E500 and 1 A22
Quite disappointed that 979 almost duplicate 302... I expected it to serve more roads in Yew Tee that do not have services today.

The 2 new pair of bus stops at sentul crescent and sumang link do not have any posters. The wrapping of plastic on the bus stops are not torn yet. So maybe sbs 117 is delayed. No other stops in Punggol have sbs 117 posters. Maybe they will put up tomorrow or day after. We shall wait for offical press releases. Cheers. Thanks.

Service 979 from 27 Dec 2015 (Bukit Panjang - CCK North 7 LOOP)
Bukit Panjang (I think is Jelebu Road...not too sure start where as I had a quick glimpse)
Woodlands Rd
KJE
CCK Drive
CCK North 5
CCK St 52
CCK Drive (YewTee MRT)
CCK North 7
CCK Cres
CCK North 7
CCK Drive
CCK St 52
CCK North 5
CCK Drive
KJE
Woodlands Rd
Bukit Panjang Road (I think is Jelebu Road...not too sure end where as I had a quick glimpse)
Very disappointing route...largely duplicates feeder 302 from cck st 52 onwards... with this I'm not surprised they will withdraw 302A....
The section between Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange and Yew Tee is perhaps the fastest possible route.
Considering Choa Chu Kang North 5 is like a ring road, I am not sure if the route makes a bi-directional loop at the Southern part of Yew Tee, or plies Choa Chu Kang Street 52 straight away.
I hope it is the former because this would benefit the people staying along the Eastern part of Choa Chu Kang North 5. Besides, if it is the former, there would be meaning in letting the route ply all the way to Choa Chu Kang Crescent and loop there, as this would really enhance the intra-town bus connection within Yew Tee.
Even if it is the latter, it provides the unique bus connection between Bukit Panjang and Yew Tee, which is not available at the moment. Although it duplicates a large portion of feeder bus service 302, I do not think there would be any impact on that bus service, as people would still use that for bus connection to the Choa Chu Kang Town Centre.

Hi mr antidennislance, wondered why sbst272 says poster for sbs 117 is released. Where did he see it? Unless he saw it in sembawang area which I doubt is possible since yishun and Punggol do not have! Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr sbst272, where did you see posters for sbs 117? Care to show pictures? Cheers. Thanks.

It will only likely spell the end of 302A...

Straight to Street 52.. so the stadium side is not convered by 979. Quite a disappointing route considering Street 52 has 302 already that has close to full bendy deployment... whereas Street 53 and Street 54 will continue to be only be served by 307 rigids

Actually I would prefer that 979 had gone straight on CCK Drive all the way to Yew Tee MRT instead of making a detour at CCK St 52. I also wonder if the loop at CCK Cresent is in the opposite direction of 302.
Whatever it is, glad that LTA heeded the calls of Yew Tee residents to improve their connectivity to DTL2 :)

Wah.. then that's not a very good route leh ><

I would rather it goes into Street 54, that area has no bus services... i think it is meant to help 302...coz tbh 302A has not really helped the load...it causes more bunching at Cres and delays at other areas... so it always the case where first bus gets all the load at YewTee, and the next bus will leave empty, then long wait again...
Especially the 302A that will arrive at 533pm (302PM01). It almost always bunch with 302PM03...

u mean the route like this
....
cck dr
cck north 5
cck st 54
cck north 6
cck dr (Yew Tee)
....
actually it's hard though coz if we ply north 5 & 6 then yew tee, then st 51 ppl will like kpkb

Yes I noticed that too. There was once I saw 2 bendy 302s and one bendy 302A bunched together at Yew Tee MRT.
Oh yes now that you say it.. St 54 seems like a better option

Yup! i feel like that better leh...if they really have to loop at Cres...which i feel they need it to loop at Cres to cater to the demands there...but surely there are demands from the other side too??

I heard some BCs who drive 302PM01 will purposely drive slowly while they off service along CCK Drive, so that 302PM03 will come first to take the load (they can see when PM03 is coming while at Street 52) and 302PM01 will leave YT with not much pax... thats for the 533pm trip..and i understand 302PM01 has a number of 302A trips...so that will happen for every trip...

i guess st 53/st 54 & north 6 residents can still take 979 from BP
just transfer to 307 at the bus stop after exit from KJE lor... what to do

no choice lor...hopefully they improve 307 also...this service is seriously getting from bad to worse...too many people take the bus already... bus bunching is no longer a new thing...and after that, enjoy the good 15-20 mins wait... if on a weekend, the wait can extend to 30 mins..
Sometimes 3x 302 then 307 comes...
Eh actually it was better before the OCs came back to 307. Frankly 3x 302 and 1x307 is quite normal nowadays

yes!! i agree totally! the OCs are screwing up 307 big time..every trip also late...when the MANs were doing 307 only weekends jialat, now weekdays also jialat, and weekend got worse!!
and yes! that situation is very normal!!

yup, my friend who lives along svc 307 route also complaining about it, in fact 307 seems ok for yew tee but upon teck whye area is getting slower and late.

And bus bunching is common too

Well, 307 Yee Tee sector have 307P (Not very useful, but better than nothing). 979 can also be easily extended to loop at Sungei Kadut
