so LTA have unofficially start BSEP 3 as per msg from the minister of transport yesterday in the parliament

To accelerate the renewal of the ageing assets, we will reinforce our bus network to provide some back-up capacity. We will be deploying 450 buses to bolster capacity along existing bus routes which support critical stretches of the rail network undergoing renewal. These are new buses. They were ordered to meet growing ridership demand and to replace our ageing bus fleet. We are opportunistically bringing forward their purchase and deployment to strengthen the resilience of our public transport network in the interim.

so we have 2A/7A/7B/12E/147E and i think many more to come to make up 450 buses... think they should spend the money/deploy the buses elsewhere instead of running empty trips, esp during off peak hour

Agreed,In fact busy rail lines like the EW/NS should have at least 3 basic svc running parallel to compliment

running during peak to compliment railline is fine... but for off peak, really they need to reconsider...
and 450 buses (and guess all DDs).... the demand is there? last year the number of passenger travelling on bus is flat.... no increase at all... 12-14 buses added to Sv 7 to do 7A/7B.. how much increase in the capacity?

12e replace part of 518, especially in the past.
147e replace part of CT28 express service, but some of the roads are save for many buses.
previous tenders are meant to replace O405Gs, and Volvo Olympians.
current Euro 6 tender is meant to replace Tridents and VSOs.

LTA aiming for 0% car growth this year.

Impossible la,maybe 15% is more sensible. New citizens mostly can afford,my neighbor from India just bought an Audi A4 and his son already buy 1st hand Suzuki GSX-S1000 bike..they just got their pink IC
what 0% car growth means that LTA will not be increasing the maximum number of cars running on the roads.
eg: 1,000 COEs, and let's say 1 of them are expiring, the car owner can either opt to buy a new car/ extend COE / scrap. IF the owner decides to scrap his vehicle, there will be an "extra" COE for bidding. AS LONG AS the number of cars on the roads is 1,000 or lesser, it means 0% growth.
