There will be condos and shopping mall at the existing industrial park in future,so expect Eunos will get 1 feeder svc..
First 68 & 76, then 13, and now 76, 134 and potentially a 68 thrown in as well. LTA is really trying to throw us off.
If it's a Go-Ahead service with the number 68, is it safe to say it is a Pasir Ris/CBP service? A Pasir Ris <> CBP link is plausible or a Eunos <> CBP link via Chai Chee/Bedok North.
Thinking off the back of my head
Pasir Ris Dr 3/4/1 > Loyang Av > Old Tampines Rd > Flora Rd > Mariam Way > Upp Changi Rd Nth > Somapah Rd > Changi Sth Av 1> CBP Av 1 > CBP Ctrl 1 > Changi Sth Av 1
Changi South Av 1 > CBP Ctrl 2 > Changi South Av 2 > Changi South Av 1 > Xilin Av > Upp Changi Rd East > New Upp Changi Rd > Bedok North Rd > Bedok North Av 1> Chai Chee St > Changi Rd > Jln Turi
Any chance it will be a UEC service and serve Marine Parade? UEC is relatively close to CBP, so a Loyang-based fleet is possible, but the depot would be a bit far compared to BNDP/Changi Bus Pk. Could this explain an amendment to 13?

Same sentiment. This new 68 is not one of the unknown feeder routes, so one of the trunk services will have to go from the package.

Yes, I remember. But it was many years back when 42 was condemned to Darts running every 20 mins. The area has become a lot more populated since. Now a 12m SD can be packed to the door during peak hours along Lengkong 3/4, operating at 8-12 min intervals. Unfortunately, the area is largely private housing with about 10 HDB blocks, so it is not the usual candidate for a new BSEP service in LTA's mind. Now with LTA planning, there is a politcial angle as well so obviously areas that are perceived to be more needy are given priority. The other similar area is Joo Chiat which has poor MRT connections and few services.
I think it will eventually come. LTA seems to be shoring up missing connections to Marine Parade. First in Bedok South with 47, and now with 134 in Sims Pl/Geylang East Central. It is a positive trend and I hope that once HDB estates are given access, LTA will also look into connections in the private housing estates. After all, other BSEP services like 4, 41 and 122 serve a much higher proportion of private housing than other BSEP services.
47, 117, 118 destination displays if EDS is not working or the bus is traditional without EDS is black and white showing a destination. This is the (new) and (updated).
Black and yellow - 99, 182, 192, 193, 246, 249, 251, 252, 253, 254, 255, 256, 257 and 258.
Marine Parade seems too have quite a few duplicated services
47,48
Can actually renumber 47 to 48C/D/E/F
43/76
Mostly similar aft Upp Paya Lebar Rd
Again, to point out, understanding LTA, intention to truncate/shorten existing services will lead to inconvenience to commuters, esp ESTABLISHED routes... n it will b loathed to do it...
13,76 serve as a direct link to a number of schools along M Parade, Upp East Coast Rd... so truncating to Eunos is...
196 under rationalisation plan years back was truncated to Buona Vista but raised a ruckus along SP n Intl schools at Dover, reinstated within weeks...
OT
SBS8259U deployed on sv36 on 4/2 flashed

4, 41 and 122 is different.
4 was to serve Flora Dr condominiums + Upper Changi Industrial Estate
41 was to connect Toh Guan HDB and Toh Tuck Industrial Estate to Beauty World MRT
122 was to connect Alexandra Road and Margaret HDBs/condos to Tiong Bahru MRT.
With Opera Estate / Frankel, the issue it is mostly landed property - very few condominiums also. So buses will run empty most times.

When Marine Parade Terminal was still around, Feeder 213 provides a link bet Ter and Fidelio/Aida St via Siglap Rd.
was withdrawn n 42 introduced to link up e area w Kembangan Stn.
There r still estates not properly served/connected
Yew Tee, Sembawang (117 is a joke imo, too short, not connected to important places, ie Chong Pang), Punggol(twds Town), Pioneer, HAIG RD,
Marine Parade is very connected...
Add on: Defu industrial estate which was served by 323(Hougang South Int)

I feel that Svc 117 is well connected. It serves as an alternative to Services like 39 & 858 where the loading can be quite heavy along the Khatib/Yishun stretch.
Well, I see the service slowly picking up its pax but maybe you see it differently. Give it time lorhx... The GEMS along Ave 1 also haven open... Should slowly pick up...

117 is a pioneer route to go Canberra and Yishun Avenue 1.

Well most of Defu industrial estate today is empty or getting a makeover. Even the stop along Tampines road at Defu doesn't fetch much pax anymore.

Yah, i mean e SBW/Yis sector, dwnwards is ok
It wld b better if can extend beyond Punggol, ie SKG, Buangkok... but unlikely for now

Yew Tee is now okay with 979 introduced + 302/307 and MRT. It is an old estate with no new developments.
117 is NOT a joke. It is actually picking up well. Especially towards latter half of 2016 you can expect it to get huge loading. Also the SAP - Punggol sector is getting good traction. I am happy it didn't connect Chong Pang (already too many services) and instead will connect to Canberra future town, which is not too far away.
Pioneer - really? where?
Haig road - have you seen the road from Geylang Serai to Dunman? It is too narrow for buses. The part from Dunman to Mountbatten okay.

Under URA masterplan, full revamp but there r commuters on 25,55,854 alighting along Hougang Ave 3 walking in...
Connectivity... if 324 can b introduced...
I have walked down Haig Rd, the open roadside drains near e HDB can be covered up and road can be widened... Private buses use tis, its NOT TT narrow
Further dwn Haig Rd where e schools r, "NOT IN service" 33C used tt stretch to ret/dwntrip to Bedok...
Pioneer area where 99/241 loops, part of Nanyang, can ve a direct trunk via expressway to other parts of SG, NOT CDS...
SAP all along need a DIRECT connection to Punggol wic is juz 10mins away, juz tt LTA delay in creating tt link till 117

Yes, but 4, 41 and 122 nonetheless have benefited many more private housing estates compared to say other BSEP services.
It is not out of the realm to think or to ask for a new service for Kembangan to Marine Parade. Kembangan/Changi Rd area have a lot of condos and about 10++ HDB blocks, about the same condo population as Flora Dr. So there should be demand considering that it's a new connection. Marine Parade boasts many nearby schools plus many shopping options. My main source of demand is not Frankel/Opera.
But might as well use Frankel to reach Marine Parade since it is the fastest connection? Too many services for Frankel because it duplicates 32 you might say. Simple. Re-route 32 to Telok Kurau Rd. It is a supplementary service, so it can supplement 15 & 155. It should not be the sole service for Frankel Av. Even though 42 duplicates 32 to Kembangan MRT, it is only a one-way connection. No. of services to Kembangan - 2 vs no. of services from Kembangan MRT - 0. Stupid right! So, you kill two-birds with one stone - you fix the problem of poor MRT access on Frankel Av, plus you provide a new Kembangan-Marine Parade sector.
And honestly, this new service would get a heck of lot more demand than 122 because it is so unique.
And if you wanna kpkb about no HDB, Kembangan got HDB, Haig Rd also got HDB. And really, Haig Rd can take buses la. About the same size of HDBs that 122 serves. Plus unlike 122, this is is a not a laughable supplementary services.
And Margaret Dr where got HDB? You mean Commonwealth Dr, where 122 essentially duplicates 195.
The Kembangan - MP looks dead for now...
Strange, approved by PTC but not implemented, really dun get it at all...

Telok Kurau has 33 as well. In fact, 16, 32 & 33 should mix & match sectors (start & end points remain the same) so as to achieve optimal demand for each route.
