There are so many topics, but I have not seen a single topic on bus lanes. I will start this off by asking you all, which roads deserve bus lanes, and why?

I strongly suspect Clementi Rd will receive bus lanes once the road widening is done.
As for Lornie Rd, the problem would be solved once the new road from Adam to MacRitchie is ready,
NSE will have bus lanes according to a news report that I read several days ago.
Sign for new express services, maybe?
Corporation Road - both sides (Boon Lay and Taman Jurong). Between Jurong West Avenue 1 and Avenue 2, and around Boon Lay Way.
Jalan Bahar - around Jurong West Avenue 4 and Jurong West Avenue 5/3
Yio Chu Kang Road (at the junction with Buangkok Green). In the worst traffic jams, any bus might spend as long as 10 minutes at that short stretch of road. SBS3003Z on 43 was late by 20 mins last week because of this road.

I doubt they'll set aside a bus lane just for peak-hour express/premium bus svcs, so perhaps LTA is really exploring full day limited-stop bus svcs. I thought this news should've generated more interest on this forum, esp from ppl at the route suggestions thread.
A dedicated bus lane should serve several full-day bus svcs at fairly high frequencies. We'll likely see a mix of express services from Woodlands/Yishun to the CBD (851E?), and svcs plying the expressway for shorter sectors, eg between AMK, Marymount, Thomson and Rochor.
If it works out, bus lanes could be introduced on existing expressways too, eg along TPE from Sengkang/Punggol to Tampines/Pasir Ris.

really, it is a waste of money on this dedicated whole day bus lane... it cost at least $8billion to built that 3 lane dual way expressway, but you are going to set aside one lane each direction for express buses (that mean roughly 2.6 billion of the cost will be used to built a bus lane??) but where is the demand during off peak??
the whole BSEPprogram only cost S$1.1billion over 10 years.. the money save can be use to fund the entire the BSEP program for another 25 years...
further the new TEL (thomson line) will be in operational by the time the expressway is ready.... might as welll save some money by building a 2 lane expresssawy... and use the money save to buy more buses and improve on public transport...
Take note that at no where in the news was it mentioned that the "dedicated bus lanes" are full day bus lanes. So peak hour bus lanes are still possible.

it already mention as dedicated bus lane... if it is just normal peak hour bus lane, then they wont use the word "dedicated"
TPE, SLE, BKE, PIE. Those sector where buses ply. Especially TPE.
As for road, probably Clementi Rd, Woodlands Rd and Bukit Timah Rd
No need to implement so many bus lanes,Just do where buses have a hard time turning enough,Its like showing people how selfish other road users is towards public buses.I agreed that CBD areas need the most and of course major roads,Expressways no need la,Later all became war zone, accident very frequent.
