And to these ppl I say this: You all dont want bendy so much right?! Can... Scrap hub-and-spoke and encourage long-distance travel by introducing more point-to-point! Whats the damn problem with that? This is giving all commuters benefits! Instead of spamming more feeders and in turn causing bottlenecks IN the bus with DDs!
There has to be an opportunity cost somewhere!
And to those asking me to join LTA... I ask you then, you come forum for what sia... Voice opinion also not happy... Who ever said that an opinion must make "legitimate sense", or at least to your own petty standards? I hope to hear more than this simplistic and dismissive response.
The problem is LTA likes the train network so much that they wouldn't want to create long distance routes if possible.
Now already sign that rail network will breakdown anytime and i guessed its a good cow sense knocking on their head that we cant 100% rely on rail.If you ask me to do bus planning,I would gladly scrap the feeder network and replace with trunk service,Peak hour express service and bus parrallel service compliment the rail line. But LTA is so stubborn that they need to continue the feeder bus legacy to compliment the MRT.
My defination of short trunk(1-10km) acting as a so called feeder also
Medium trunk(10-20km) and long trunk(21km above).
Express service would operate between 0630-0830 & 1700-2000 during weekdays and 0630-1330 for Saturdays(Excl PHs).This way the DDs will be fully utilise even for short trunks(Lower deck for short and upper deck for longer distance).A24s can be use for short trunks also.

Express to city areas and popular places eg. JE, Tampines should not only be peak...
In fact I think they should run full day weekends and PH, for town areas can re-route from CBD to shopping/tourist areas eg. Orchard Road, Marina Bay

With the exception of certain express svc on bigger neighbourhood suchs as Taman Jurong/Boon Lay,Woodlands/Sembawang/Yishun,Pasir Ris/Tampines/Bedok and Punggol/Sengkang towards CBD areas.
Good news. AMDEP will be modified to accomodate double decks later on by removing the roofs. But they will start to modify later, not that soon so be patient haha. So don't tell me AMDEP will get most of the MAN A95s hahaha. For Enviros maybe they will transfer from WPDEP/KJDEP to AMDEP later.

I receive this email from SMRT about 2 months ago regarding the roof modification which i assume they will be tore away in pieces and fit with newer straight type roof.Reroofing job will takes about 2 weeks for Amdep which again they need to park at least half of the fleets somewhere else temporary..They should have done it last year ever since SMRT buy DDs..But again Sungei Seletar will be ready around 3rd quarter 2017.

That's good. When they will start to tear away the roofs?
Dunno leh brother,Hopefully before 3rd quarter..At least can take 40-50 units of DDs its more than enough

Yeah hope that AMDEP can get reroofed around September or October and maybe services 851, 853, 854, 855 and 860 can get DDs later on. Since the reroofing u said takes about 2 weeks which is not that long

LOL..any buses will experience bunching issue if they are dispatch within 5mins interval and/or faces long waiting time for traffic.
But why 179 needs bendy? Bunching isn't bad also..as long there's no big gap created.

And let hope,WLDEP will take back Citaro & OC by giving the dd to AMDEP
I saw 2 Enviros on 964 today.1 is the usual SMB3567Y but i also saw another one.Why i said 2 is because one had appeared opposite Admiralty MRT and then it went off towards Woodlands Mart and not long after SMB3567Y came. Therefore the bus i spotted earlier could not have been SMB3567Y as it would not have looped so fast
I would rather see Kjdep and Wldep have the OCs,Citaros,Enviro500s,A bit of A22s,A24s and A95s
while Amdep maintain A22s,A24s and A95s

SMB3594T, might be replacing SMB3126L for today...
Can't wait for AMDEP to get DDs. Like that 851 no need transfer to WLDEP. Also since 854 full AMDEP already can already get double decks too. I hope some for 855 and a few for 853. Maybe they can deploy more DDs on 853C every sunday since it go East Coast Terminal

actually, 853 and 853C should merged so that it would ply Yishun to UEC daily.

Lesser feeders, precisely the point. Why are areas managed by TIBS/SMRT having so many feeders for a residential town (8 in Woodlands & 6 in Yishun), while certain areas managed by SBST that are of the similar population density as Woodlands/Yishun have only 4-5 feeder services?
For a start, more feeder mergers to form routes like sv3/38/60 should be conducted.

Your note was fine until you said 853 should get DDs

Precisely to your point coz SBST has trunks catering as feeders within the towns. For instance Tampines: heavily populated town
28 acts like feeder to Tampines st 45 (293 is uni-directional here)
29 acts like feeder for Tampines Ave 9 (again 293 does not cover all of it)
72 acts like feeder for Tampines Ave 6/9
27/168 act like feeder for Tampines Ave 9/10
39 acts like feeder for all of Tampines Ave 2 (not covered by 292 entirely)
22 acts like feeder for Tampines Ave 4 (not covered by 293 entirely)
23 acts like feeder for Tampines Ave 1
Same case for other towns.

Why 853 cannot get DDs? By the way I am referring to 853C since it extends to Upper East Coast Terminal. Since AMDEP will get DDs it will be more easier

The route to UEC is heavily duplicated.
13 - The strech from Kallang MRT to Geylang and from Marine Parade to UEC
43 - From Tg Katong Road all the way to UEC
48 - From Amber to UEC
Don't think the loading justifies for DD.
Cheers!

Coz it does not have demand that warrants DDs (yet). Ofcourse if 85 can get DDs, every service can get.

precisely... but accordingly to someone, the bunching of sv179 is caused by slow loading/unloading of DDs...his solution is to deploy bendies on sv179, which will result in no bunching...
