In 2014, RapidKL announced a placing of order for 80 Alexander Dennis Enviro 200s for fleet expansion and upgrading.
A year later, the first of these orders came into service on Tempatan (Local Feeder) routes under the Cheras Depot route group.
These Enviro 200s are manufactured as Complete Knock Down (CKD) kits shipped from UK, with assembling done up by DefTech Malaysia at it's plant in Pekan, Pahang.
As of posting of video, these buses can be found running on T433, T424 as well as occasional appearances on T417.
Specification
Length: 10.4 m
Engine: Cummins ISBe engine
Gearbox: Voith 4-speed
Seats: Vogelsitze
Doors: Ventura
EDS (Display Signs): Lumiplan
Total Order: 80 units
Might as well they order the 11.2m..
I think SBST can buy these buses for Svc 42 and other services with tight junctions... Not sure if the Voith will do well in hilly terrains though.

Why would svc 42 need DDs?
I'd rather sbst buy 4.0m DDs for Airport Svcs

The loading and route conditions for 42 doesn't warrant the need for DDs
When did he say 42 need DDs?Enviro200 is a midi bus not DDs like Enviro500 la dey

Exactly... Thanks.

Aiya, confused with SBST191's post.. :(
But with the current deployments for 42 doing fine, SBST wouldnt have to purchase a specialised fleet for 42 as per before the Darts went off
and with midibuses come "midi-capacity", let's say for example 33, where there are tight turns at Joo Chiat, however is it able to handle the load at Chinatown/Bugis?
let's see whether they can maintain the bus well or not...

Airport height is 3.9m.

Wrote this idea in before. Only that for SMRT since they are more eager to trial different models.
Also can use for low loading svcs eg. 84, 120(?), 882

120 will only work if the government buys BSEP units... Anyway, 84 and 120 are already doing well with their current fleets, since they help to handle the loads which can be either low or high (especially 120 getting full during PM peak). 882 may handle well with these though, so I won't be surprised if SMRT gets a few units for that service and others. Just that I hope they can get the UK builders instead of Zhuhai...

84 not THAT full...
Besides, the shorter length would also make it easier for BCs to do three point turn at Punggol Rd End...
Face the harsh truth bro, SG is in Asia. Who else is in Asia? China.
For SMRT the MAN also offer the 14.240HOCL-NL 10.6/11m midi..

882 maybe a mix of E20s and E40s in addition to the A22s. 84 could turn into 384 in future, making E20s a bit of waste when loading could explode. the only service which could see E20s is 42. 529/825 are under Bus-Plus, the coasters would have been more than sufficient.

882 just probably need 3 E200 that's 10.4m long.
84 and 386 probably can combine into 1, like SMRT intra-town svc. With fleet of 6 buses, should be quite sufficient. Cost saving also.
194/405/825 probably needs 2-3 E200 also..
926 can get 1-2 E200..

882 would need about 5-6 buses to have its frequency up, out of the 5-6 buses, 1 or 2 will do 882A. E200 on 882 is a waste.
194 may get removed in the near future. 405 is seasonal; does not operate all the time.
926, strictly no. it need a cameo bendy to clear its load.

I dont think you know what are E200s and E400s.
Firstly, how would E200s be a WASTE when usually, it couldnt even fill half of a regular 12m rigid? And btw waste is not the word, you are not paying more to operate E200s in place of current 12m SDs - you are paying less due to fuel consumption.
And E200 is an SD; E400 is a DD. Certainly 882 does not deserve DDs, look at its loading now.
Sembawang isnt gonna develop anytime soon. Unless it gets re-routed to Bidadari/Canberra, its loading is gonna remain this way.
It depends on the outcome of LTA's tender for a concept bus mock-up.
Manufactuers who submitted bids include ADL and STK (MAN).

Nice work. Any plans for RapidKL's E500 Turbo?

must have mixed up E40s and another 12m single deck bus ...
You mean Enviro300?

Yeah. Keep thinking the E40s are 12m SD.
E30 also good for SG to try...
But LTA most prob not int
