Aiya teething problems mah. Very normal then become ok already. We r not even a world-class transport anymore. Breakdown oso we ride the very same
Ya lor,Prepare for more breakdowns in future only.
961 really dying soon...... Anyway 961 can be shortened to Marina Centre, then let 62 extend via 961's former routing to Marina Bay Bus Terminal.

Where got die?Loadings still satisfactory...There’s even an average of 5-6 DDs during weekdays
But as you suggest can shortened to Marina Centre and extend 62 also.

For the suggestion to lta are not use
We wish to share that LTA’s guiding principles in bus network planning are to provide bus services within 400m of developments subject to minimum demand, and to provide bus connection to a nearby MRT station or key transport node, where commuters can make onward connection to further destinations.
We seek your understanding that while we strive to provide direct bus services, it is not always possible to serve the doorstep of all developments and transfers are necessary to maintain an efficient and sustainable public transport network.
We thank you for writing in.

Hi mr vampire77im, don't hope too much for direct bus routes. The MRT network has already taken over as the priority. Cheers. Thanks.

The problem with LTA's priority on the MRT network is that any MRT delays, faults or breakdowns will cause massive disruption and much unhappiness because commuters are left with very few alternatives, esp after direct bus routes are rationalized. Places with 2 or more MRT lines (e.g. Bishan, Tampines, etc) and places with express buses (e.g. Bukit Panjang) will be less affected, but places with only 1 MRT line and no express buses (e.g. Boon Lay) will suffer greatly.
U can say that for the North East area anyway
Should have 1 trunk and 1 express svc parallel with MRT for a quite big estates.I guess only Bukit Merah Interchange doesn’t have the Rail Bridging berth.

961 loading is quite good, especially between Queensway and Chinatown, and Bukit Panjang and Kranji.
Not sure if the Adam Rd - PIE junction would be modified to allow right turns (from eastbound PIE to southbound Adam Rd) in the future, but if it were, it would allow for some good rationalisation:

How you know?
Originally posted by AJQZC:Not sure if the Adam Rd - PIE junction would be modified to allow right turns (from eastbound PIE to southbound Adam Rd) in the future, but if it were, it would allow for some good rationalisation:
- - 700: Bt Panjang -- Shenton Way (via Adam Rd & Botanic Gardens, skipping Stevens Rd)
- - 171: Yishun -- Bt Panjang (Cut in entirety afterwards; replaced by 170 and 700)
- - 67: CCK -- Lor 1 Geylang (Using current 961 route after TKK MRT station)
- - 1: Tampines -- either St. Michaels / Toa Payoh / loop near Little India (via current 67 route)
- - 961: Woodlands -- Bt Batok (Via 178's route)
- - 178: Bt Batok -- Boon Lay (Other half of 178; subject to withdrawal / modification / merge with 258 depending on demand observed)
Sectors saved:
- - 67 between TKK MRT and Little India (covered by 48, 66, 170, modified 700). Lost link between CCK and Little India though.
- - 961 between Woodlands Int and Kranji MRT (covered by 925, 960; mitigated by new route)
- - 171 between Bt Panjang and Marina Ctr (covered by 170, modified 700)
- - 700 along Stevens Rd (covered by 190, 960, 972)
Well - most of the above make sense, BUT are similar to the suggestions I have already provided on all these services.
Reduced loads on various bus services:
8, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 31A, 59, 65, 66, 67, 87
23 somehow kena wiped out 60% of the crowd.
I think there are some commuters travelling direct on the DTL loop so no problem :) can sleep like taking the bus to Genting!
Empty Sbst DD running parallel to DTL. The operator meant business. Thumb up

Desmond Kuek will need another 5 years to solve the deep routed cultural problem within SMRT

Why he need to worry? He should just follow like the ministers who always find scapegoats for every blunders they make and continue to enjoy high pay.

I have a feeling that bus route 66 may be shortened to Bedok and Kaki Bukit next time, because other sections of the route are already covered by the Downtown Line and other bus routes, and only the Bedok section totally belongs to bus route 66.
It could be because the authorities have the intention of shortening bus route 66 to Kaki Bukit MRT Station that’s why they never amend or add bus route at Kaki Bukit MRT Station to connect to the neighboring Telok Kurau residential area.
Hopefully in the near future the authorities can add bus route at Kaki Bukit MRT Station, to allow Telok Kurau residents to take bus to Kaki Bukit MRT Station, without having to walk 5 to 10 minutes.
Otherwise, Kaki Bukit MRT Station is like don’t have like that. Those people living there have to continue to use Eunos MRT Station. Might as well don’t build Kaki Bukit MRT Station. Now open already yet don’t have bus connect to Telok Kurau residential area, is simply a waste of resources.
402 was not withdrawn because this bus service have proper insurance. accident can still be claimable by operator, not Uber/GrabCar.
There are strong negative reaction if 402 is withdrawn.
A bus service 256 was withdrawn because is transitioning to JustGrab private hire service, never think about insurance/claimable.
This has positive reaction as 256, 409 and some Premium services are withdrawn.

Dey, leave 66 as it is. It is 67 that should be cut between TAM and LTI. 65 can cover that portion easily.
First days 137 monitoring of fully bus service after 9pm and noticed that are not any of people take empty all the way to Sims place good for the bus driver and not need to stop the bus service to get area of kaki buki area empty
