Service 23 may be extended to loop at Bukit Timah Road.
Service 972 may extend to Choa Chu Kang

I am not sure of Service 74, 166 and 852's route.
I think 74, 166 and 852 will remain.
74 & 852's target passengers are different. Been boarding this two buses and observe, there is demand along the stretch.
166: Why even involve this service?.

Both suggestions are highly unlikely.
972 will not extend. If has to, 700 will extend to CCK via Keat Hong to provide Keat Hong residents direct access to Orchard road.
23 unlikely. Why when DTL is anyway going to be there?

the DTL will be running on end of the year. and it operated by SBST. So i think some services might cut back or removed if it is by sbst. But SMRT bus service i think 190 , 67 and those parallel to the line might have changes but it will be silly to remove 190 700 and 960 as even the people taking might reduce but the services is still useful in helping the MRT to reduce crowding problem

157 I doub't so. If 157 were to turn to PIE and exit via Adam/Lornie Rd, it cause huge delay as traffic exiting PIE towards Lornie Rd is very very very bad especially during peak hours. Don't touch 157.
66 may or may not have route change. Is unpredictable for service 66. My suggestions for 66 is to wait till Stage 3 opens. Then there will be changes as most of the routes duplicate with stage 3 and stage 2. Loading on service 66 can be vary.

Cheers :-)
i think the best is to not to touch any services until the demand is no more. but with a proper planning by LTA some services can still have money making. the main thing is the line is by sbst and year end a new bus operator comming in some service is taking over by the new operator so if LTA can allow some kind of healthy competition among operators might be good for the public. mean some service can turn semi express or fully express by the operators. and sbst give up jurong east and smrt give up bukit batok is a good deal.
65 get few sd. no more full fleet dd.
66 route may change.
67 route may split as some of you say already.
23 route i see no change.
22 might get more sd in fleet
8 route i see no change
5/58/59 also stay same
61 can split like 67 into two service
I can safely say that no bus routes will be cut at least until 2018
Service 61 may ply different route with Service 8, 22, 28, 59 and 66

You mean Whitley Road, Bendemeer and Dunearn Road?

i rather 700 extend to woodlands though it is super packed already

What's the advantage? You already have hordes of other services from BPJ to Woodlands, not to mention 966 from Petir road to Woodlands as well.
I'd rather have 700 connect the new Keat Hong town with direct service to Orchard, and have CCK MRT direct connectivity to Petir road. Also will serve as alternative to 983 to reach BPJ MRT.

Not a bad suggestion... so basically the service will skip all of Bukit Timah road, and enter only at Macpherson road right (will skip all of Serangoon road as well).

However, some changes to road infrastructure may be required.

Or maybe they will first see if existing services 74, 151, 154 can cater to the demand.

Given that train service disruptions of today's scale may continue to occur, it is better not to rationalize any bus services for now even if more MRT stations open.

last time was NSL whole line disruption
now EWL joins in
maybe next time even CCL, DTL and NEL all join in
so no more bus rationlisation. it is like trying to remove 190

indeed. today's farcical events is a total mockery of the government's previous acts of so-called 'rationalization' of bus services. 'alternatives' to the MRT nowadays are either impractical and a waste of time or non-existent.
forget the idea of bus rationlisation. i hope LTA should instead consider BRT services in singapore. a simple full day bus lanes on key roads, bus give way signal light on key road junctions and also having semi-express service like 190,23 59 700 should made it a better public transport system for singapore.
Breakdown of MRT/tube networks happen everywhere be it Paris, London, NYC or Singapore. We have to get better at our maintenance to minimize this, but once in a while one of the lines will give in...
What LTA does well is management of these crisis... which I have seen is done much better in our country than many European countries and developed nations.

I seriously wonder what happens if TT etc. comes in...
Today, right at Dover Stn, 166 BC didn't even bother to tell pax it's free ride. But only 106 BC + Inspector does. Poster also clearly states both SBS Transit n SMRT...
