Must be SBS2792K?
They keep changing and postponing their plans. I think the major blunder here is Compassvale Interchange. Still operating only with 374.

Compassvale is for the future. I understand there are concerns that the bus interchange could be a white elephant, considering there is only one service operating from the facility, but in the long run, there is a need for bus services at Sengkang, to serve the new areas in Sengkang West and Seletar.
Additional capacity is required, and Compassvale Bus Interchange provides that capacity. Likewise for Punggol, which will operate at capacity when the other half of Punggol is developed. But beyond Punggol, I think only Compassvale Bus Interchange can provide that capacity for future bus services at Seletar. The other facility would be Yio Chu Kang Bus Interchange. Punggol, Yishun and Ang Mo Kio are reaching its limits.
Nonetheless, Seletar is not a large area that requires multiple new bus services in future. In fact, with the Cross Island Line and Thomson East Coast Line coming up in future, there may not even be the need for so many bus services.
Nonetheless, it's always better to have spare capacity, although we may not need it, because who knows we may need additional capacity in future. So, it's better to create an abundance of capacity, even though we do not need it now. Anyway, we can afford, and the cost of maintenance is within our capacity, so let's just appreciate the fact that we have the Compassvale Bus Interchange that anticipates the future and stay relevant.
Shouldn't have closed Hougang South. Should have kept 132 & 151 operating from there. But this is way off topic, of course.
Suggestion: 127 is extended to Compassvale via Tampines Road, BKE, Buangkok Dr, Punggol Road, Sengkang East Ave, Rivervale Dr, Sengkang West Way, Compassvale Interchange

Actually, what has all these got to do with Downtown Line? Yes, the opening of Downtown Line may bring about changes to bus routes, but none of the posts on this page mention anything about Downtown Line.
No thanks. These are extreme hypothetical situations. It is an undeniable fact that the public transport system is based on MRT-bus integration (however poor some areas might be). Rationalisation is based on finding the optimal balance between MRT and bus.

Ultimately, what matters is the connection to MRT. I believe the relocation of Bus Interchange from Hougang South to Hougang Central was to consolidate resources at Hougang Central, as previously there were multiple bus interchanges in Hougang. As far as the commuters are concerned, the impact is minimal as the routes remain largely the same.

159 should help 50 and by pass the flyover under pass to AMK ave 1 use the old route before mrt start.

Yes. Our public transport is based on the "hub and spoke" model, where the bus and train are integrated to optimise resources. Whenever a new section of MRT opens, rationalisation may be required to reduce duplication of resources, as well as optimise resources.

LTA closed Hougang South and upgraded YCK from terminal to interchange. So inconsistent.

There is Buangcock ITH in future..Extend Hougang Central by a few pathetic lots then later introduce more service..

the interchange is way too small. Where's the "upgraded" YCK ITH?
Compassvale is an extension of Sengkang la...Sengkang only 17 lots
Amending 965 to terminate at Compassvale interchange?

Oi, why'd you copy my words?
With 20 parking lots, Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange can accommodate 10 bus services.
I believe having 75, 184, 700 at the temporary bus park is only a temporary measure, like how 179, 199 remained at the temporary bus interchange when Boon Lay Bus Interchange opened in 2009.
75, 184, 700 may move into Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange once 979M merges into 979, and once SMRT is more confident with operating Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange.
For the record, the original bus services at the former Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange were 75, 176, 177, 180, 184, 700/A, 920, 922, 970, 971E, 975.
(The press release five years ago)
Of the original bus services, 176, 920, 922, 970, 975 are going to the new bus interchange, whereas 75, 184, 700/A will remain at the temporary bus park.
177, 180, 971E are not returning to the clique.

Actually I do not get it why modify 27 and having svc 44 to cover up the lost sector of 27? By modifying 27 doesnt help since the load is from Sengkang - tampines/Airport. Starting from tampines concurse makes 27 practically useless. People would rather take MRT to airport or use the downtown line (xfer at expo)
127 via BKE from tampines? TPE you mean

Along the way, several BSEP routes appeared. 972, 973 & 979 joined the family, causing a crowd to form.
If not for the chain of events that began way back in 1999, SKG would have been the first ITH run by SMB (formerly Tibs), and a bendy-suitable one too.
SMB may have been given control of BPJ but there is no guarantee they will be around forever, as the contract may change hands when the time comes for tender.
