SMB1630K is AMDEP, was on 851 last Tuesday.
SBS 9648Z (SL 154 SL SP)
SBS 9364S (SL SP SL 154)
This bus has been kicked out of 154 according to my BC friend. It is due to the ez link terminal always unable to power on in the morning at depot or even having the ez link readers going X mode while on trip and bus had to declare free ride.
154 BCs alr complained alot of times but it seems that LTA did not bother to come and change the system. Thus has been requested to the starter to remove this bus from 154 and put to other service.
Temp wil be 9364S covering its non wab duty probably until scrap.

In addition to what user gohqianyan posted, 1630K is on Sv 171 today. So yeah, AMDEP it is.

That is honestly a truly one-of-a-kind reason that I've heard of for kicking out a bus from its perm svc in so many years of bus spotting.
On another note, wouldn't it have been easier if SLBP just simply upgraded the slot and deploy a Wright on the slot? (Instead of running 9364S till scrap..) It's not like SLBP is short of Wrights nowadays anyway...

Are you allowed to ask for infomation just like that? I'm sure if you ask the BC straight no matter how close your relationship with him he'll tell you it's purely confidential can't be revealed.

Yup my BC fren told me every Monday come uh whoever morning duty that bus one always cannot on the System after it sleep for like 2 days on the weekend? IDK.
And as for why not replace direct with WEG is because that slot is a NWAB timing, previously they put in 3671U is for testing after that they think that bus ok throw it to S shift then swop 9648 back to this slot cos 3671U was relatively new so they didnt want to spoil the bus so fast by letting it run A/P.
Maybe after 9364S scrap or earlier they will revise the timetable again? Idk. Either revise that slot to WAB or remain it and use another VO cover? But i guess will definetely convert to WAB already bah.

BC told me personally. Cos the Starter was previously trf to parking I/C at SL but then was trf back to starter cos the old one got fired. XD So my bc fren went to request the bus to be sent out of 154 and replace with another. This starter was very kind and linient and do his job well.

eh! nothing like that. Even BCs you are not friends with and you talk to them onboard bus, you will be surprised how many will happily share with you information. Also there is nothing so confidential about these things.
any VSO missing recently? this morning at around 930 am , saw one adless VSO on tow along SLE (just after Woodlands Ave 2) towards BKE/Kranji area... not sure going to scrapyard or what? cant be going to BRBP/AMDEP/BNDEP from that direction also.
cant be breakdown also... cos i was driving the same direction earlier, (20 mins) and did not see any bus breakdown along SLE...

Agreed... I chat with BCs who are my friends and they do share some info with me. They do say some info is confidential and I can't find out about that... However, I've chatted with BCs I meet for the first time and find out much info. I guess they share some of this info, since I am friendly to them (not boasting, I do greet them by saying 'Hello' and 'Goodbye')...

that is not boasting. that is good manners and that is least we can do is smile and greet. And even BCs must be getting so bored just looking at roads. They welcome some unusual passenger taking interest in buses.

Exactly my point... I do that just to be friendly and thank them for driving the buses we all take. Through this habit, I have made more 'BC friends' whom I can chat with when I feel bored or simply because I like the bus. Through my conversing with them, they can give me plenty of info on bus deployments and so on...

Yeah, I guess a conversion of the slot to a WAB one would just solve all the issue. I'm just wondering why they didn't choose this method, instead of putting 9364S till it runs dead.
