At Opp PSA Bldg bus stop, the BC suddenly stopped there because of a female passenger who had told him to stop as she made an urgent call. According to another passenger, she had called the police to ask them to help transport her uncle (who had apparently fainted on the upper deck) to the hospital. The BC had trouble understanding the situation as he could not understand English. After 5 minutes, angry passengers asked the BC to open the doors to let them alight, but he refused. After a while of complaining, the BC finally opened the doors and most passengers alighted. Finally, the police arrived and the passengers were allowed to board without tapping their card again due to the delay. The BC sped for the rest of the journey to make up for the lost time.

Off Topic here but the bolded part you are talking about was a China BC?? so this kind of nonsense is still happening.. iirc some time back,i read somewhere that those china BCs are sent to learn english first before they can officially start work.. so all that is bullshit as usual i guess..

Yes... There are still some China BCs who have trouble conversing in English. I ever helped a chinese BC auntie to tell some tourists where to alight for the Singapore flyer (SMRT, SMB1388K on 75 last year).
I ever saw a China BC on 858 who told no to a passenger who asked if that bus goes tothe airport...

SMB65Z broke down at BS 44399 (Opp Blk 210, CCK Drive)
Spotted at 0835hrs with maintenance truck present...
SBS 6117J (BN 518)
brokedown at Opp Bukit Batok Int while cameo on 66 this afternoon. SBS Truck was seen behind.
SMB5010Z declare breakdown at Lot one bus stop at about 950am. All pax alighted and eventually boarded SMB5029X that arrived at 10am. After SMB5029X left the bus stop, SMB5010Z moved slowly and went back to cck int...
Not sure what happened to the bus..
SMB1586E met into an accident today while doing 307 (307AM02). Did not spot it myself but heard people talking about it.
It was said that bus hit the road sign pole at junction of CCK Ave 4 and CCK Way. Damage on bus was unknown but when i go see the pole, the "Choa Chu Kang Ave 4" green sign is gone, and the pole is slanted to one side.
This bus was not supposed to be on this duty. This duty was originally done by 1566M. But 1566M had some issues i think, so was deployed onto 307S101 so can send to depot while 1586E switched with 1566M to do 307AM02. So, by right the bus that would have met into accident would be 1566M instead (just saying, maybe different bus may not have accident already)
Replacement bus was SMB133K at first (spotted at 3.30pm), but eventually changed to SMB3080J (spotted at 5pm).
Another bad accident also happen at Yishun last night.
1114G was on either Off Svc heading back to AMK Depot when it hit the back of a crane truck and the whole front was damaged, including driver cabin and chassia bent. Said was due to a car at the front E braking and causing 3 trucks infront of 1114G to e brake but only 1114G did not stop in time and hit. Driver probably injured.
Replacement bus for 1114G duty was covered by 136C.

I meant that I helped to tell the tourists in English... Sorry if you thought otherwise.

apparently now i heard its not driver fault..a car hit the pole, the road sign collapsed and hit the bus..seems the left side windows between the 2 doors got damaged with scratches...
I think since this bus is new, may not come out so fast since they want claim insurance...like what happened to SMB212R last time (MIA 1.5 months though damage from accident was minimal)
which also means SMB1586E was at the wrong place at the wrong time...if its back on its usual slot, it will be SMB1566M that will kena but now SMB1566M is running healthily on 307AP02...haha!!
1114 might be gone for good,Front structure badly damaged..Might as well have early dereg..
Apparently, there is an accident at Jurong West Street 62 - before Jurong West Street 65, at the side of the road where traffic flows towards Jurong West Primary School (Jurong West Street 61) - involving one Volvo Wrights Gemini and one car.
Saw an ambulance at the scene.
Quite a huge crowd there witnessing the accident. I was on bus 243W when I saw that, at around 8:15pm just now.

Confirm gone case...it is not like 1130J or 1203H where engine caught fire...bodywork damage cannot be salvaged.
Yeah damage looks quite bad to the front. Unless SMRT salvages the front from one of the retiring O405G MK1, quite hard to fix. But probably they could try that, this bus looks refurbished after all. Hahaha Incidentally I was on 1203H today - appeared on 180.

bodywork damage cannot be salvaged? u sure? chassis damage is bigger issue. Bodywork can be remove entirely and rebuilt..
8074 have a much more serious accident and it is back on road..
might be faster and more economic to just remove the front from one of the MK1s awaiting scrap and replace like what they do for 700X last time. If they going to spend time rebuilding a new front, its not really worth it, this bus only has max 3yrs lifespan left. For 8074, I think the bus still had a long lifespan left so still worth it to build a new front. But in another case, 8900 was scraped instead of being saved even though the bus was still very new back then.

You have to see what SMRT is thinking on its mind...TIB734Z also encountered a similar accident that damaged its front though not as serious as TIB1114G, and it got laid up all the way till end of lifespan...
