As for 851 Its better 18 Wldep & 4 Amdep duties start from Yishun onwards and 5 duties start from Bt Merah for the first bus timings..
854 12 Wldep duties start from Yishun and 14 Amdep duties start from Bedok
855 same scenario with 851
857 a few Amdep duties start from Suntec and end at Suntec
858 Last 3 Amdep duties end at Airport as well as first 3 Amdep start from Airport or Yishun towards Airport
176,188 & 964,3-4 duties should start from Bulim as it is a west side service
Now you know what is dead mileage or fuel wasting?
What is the point of buses ending before their scheduled operating hours then?
It is not about dead mileage or fuel wasting but it is based on operational needs that they decide whether or not the bus will continue it's trip after a certain period of time.

855 will get 2... 851 we will have to wait longer.

Expect deadhead distance of buses to reduce dramatically under the contracting model.
Operators that can bring this number down to a minimum will have a competitive edge over others.

Last 3 buses not considered end of operation meh?If svc 858 ends 0045 at Airport why cant Amdep last 3 buses be in 0015,0030 & 0045 and ends at T2?From Airport to Amdep nearer or Wldep? Can also renumbered 858B..

Why 851 must wait longer but not 855?851 more suitable use DDs..855 the problem lies with duty deployment not really loading issue..I ever drive 855 dozen of times.Imagine for the distance from Yishun to Harbourfront you only have 11-12 full day buses..The freq always sucks even during off peak cause most of the split duty ends earlier. What 855 need is 2-3 full day Bsep duties not DDs.851 can reduce 1 duty if they deploy at least 9-10 DDs.854 can cut 2 duties if got 14-16 DDs..I'm not boasting but i ever drive almost all of the Amdep controlled svc.

If they make 858 go AMDEP that means WLDEP buses have to go back early after 2200.
Given the distance yes I would prefer if 858 goes AMK but if they are pulling buses back after 2200 hours, then I don't see the point.
Im not saying that they will be pulling back buses after 2200..Its best that the last buses from WRI-CGA done by Amdep buses
...

The last 3 buses should be from Amdep while Wl side will be the last from WL to Yishun Ave 2
New Info: SMRT is testing its DDs for 851, 854 & 857.

All different speculations right now... just need to know when Yishun temp is opening.. can't wait for Yishun to get DDs and go joyride when I visit my work contracts there.
Just saw an Enviro doing 860 route

Could it be 850E?
Theyre testing 851,854 & 857..DDs seen ply YCK Rd to CTE 857 routes to Suntec,Another doing 851 towards Bt Merah and another YCK Rd towards Bedok Int..So obvious already.
gd see 851 to be DD ready. it need DD bus. in fact smrt should deply at least 5-6 DD on the service.

DDs on 851 will be a dream come true. I hate SMRT for how badly they downgraded this service from majority bendy fleet to now only 7 bendies on a super-crowded service. Just like 187, SMRT lost revenue on this service, as its lack of good high capacity buses have pushed ppl to choose other means incl MRT or bus service 166, 57, 74 along its route. I hope better sense prevails to SMRT and the DDs should be SD-->DD conversion and not bendy-->DD conversion. This service hugely needs capacity upgrade. # buses is okay.
I also suspect 851 might get a fleet add from BSEP in form of DD.

and 56. i think SMRT wanted a quiet of following LTA new policy not to have too many bendy buses in the city area. that why see the number of bendy reduced. also those old bendy buses scrapped and new SD buses comming maybe as well temp using the SDs buses to cover frist and later has new DDs when the new temp interchange opened
Hopefully after some Yishun Svc get DDs,167 also get a couple for Sembawang
Yishun Temporary Bus Interchange will open in 15 March 2015.

They are testing DDs on 851, 854, 857 since a month for the opening in mid-March. Wow!
LOL give DD to 167,980 better lah
980 problem of lying branches and mostly its freq issue,Should add 2 more A22s for both side..They in dire state for 2 full day buses
167 definately for peak hours..3 DDs for a start since its a long haul svc..Amdep need another full day bus

Not good news. I was expecting them to swap out some of the SDs on Sv 39 for DDs in the coming month~ Ditto for other SMRT svcs like Sv 851.
At this rate, I think high chance Sv 39 getting another fleet add in this Q1 already. Its frequency is worsening drastically in both directions during Peak Hours since school season restarted. Quite common to see a 20min wait between buses somewhere in either direction during Peak Hour since school started this year. It's like somehow the loadings for Sv 39 massively increased this year.
And, isn't Sv 39 still in the BSRF scheme?
