As above, discuss here for Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange
From what Thomson Line Construction blogspot stated in the following post:
http://thomson-line.blogspot.sg/2014/02/woodlands-pre-construction.html
"...A temporary bus interchange will be constructed next to the station as the existing undergoes refurbishment..."
I am just hoping they will convert this Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange to an air-conditioning interchange.
Can,fare will raise again to 3% maximum in 2016..Now we want good freq, better buses, more bus svc in the end see both PTOs apply for fare raise despite oil price went down..Ask again la for sky,Sooner taking public tpt is almost the same as owning a motorbike

Doubt it.. coz most temp interchanges are not air conditioned.

Yes we want better frequency, we want good bus services. But we DO NOT want resources to be wasted on futile services, just "good-to-have" services, low patronage services... and then have our fares increased. There is always a trade-off and it needs to be managed appropriately.

Hi mr carbikebus, fares will always increase though I hate increases. But expected. Give so many services irregardless of loading level of buses, fares increase. Cheers.
Oil prices went down to nearly 50% yet these PTOs still wanna increase fares.Salary for e past 10 years growth at a slower rate in excuse for keeping your job yet hiring high pay good for nothing foreigners?

I meant by the existing WRI, not the upcoming temporary WRI.

And considering that the wages of drivers are currently suppressed.
Wait till the wages rise to the actual market rate when the new operators start vying with the incumbents for drivers. Paying $3.58 for a bus ride over a few stops might not be that far away.

I guess not. Neither LTA nor URA have listed Woodlands as a future ITH. The purpose is more of connecting the interchange to the future Thomson-East Coast MRT Line.
I'm guessing that the Woodlands temporary int should be in operation till 2019 when the new thomson-east coast line mrt station opens.

Woodlands Regional Interchange could re-open before 2019 once the connection to Thomson-East Coast MRT Line is made, with the entrance covered up until the station opens.
Think more of linkage, better insulation, touch up and probably only the centre area will be confined with ac room..Its such a waste to torn down such a unique interchange in Singapore..
It doesn't affect much as long it will work as normal?
Suspecting this Temporary WRI will be opening around 4Q 2015 - 1Q 2016, whereby the passenger berths are being refurbished and the WRDEP to be refurbished thereafter.
Judging from the current consturction site, it seems that there will be only sufficient space for both boarding and alighting berths. Not much space for buses to park at that small piece of land..
maybe the buses continue parking at current interchnage?

That's what I am suspecting.. furthermore what for refurbishing the roads at WRI (in my opinion)
If the current interchange will be temporary used as "Bus Park", then likelyhood the SMRT WRI office might get expansion & upgraded as well... Roadworks for expansion needed, if not, certain peak hr jam won't solve...
Before this topic expires..
Anyway, it has been said that some services will terminate at the TWRDEP, while the others will be diverted to another new bus stop (likewise same situation as the BPDEP construction).
As of now, the base of TWRI is completed.
is woodland temp int bigger than current one. if smaller i no understand how will mange operation
actually, in the case of Woodlands.... the existing interchange is already an ITH.
lvl 2: MRT
lvl 1: Commercial
basement: Bus Interchange
except, this ITH is non-airconditioned.
so might as well rennovate it, since the infrastructure also quite old already, and can also install aircon...
whereas for the increase in demand, one possible way to increase supply is to use the temporary facility until the new bus interchange at Woodlands North is operational.

What I am just hoping is that the WRI Bus Park (aka WRDEP) to be extended for more bus parking spaces.
