But there is another new order right which will bring the total number of buses to 1000 under BSEP? The only thing I remember is that the new order had a higher # of DDs ordered for SBST than Citaros.
SBST got logistic and spacing advantage over SMRTB hence they can get more buses at one go..Soon Lee can have 530 buses park at one time,Ayer Rajah is 185,Bt Batok is around 300 max,Braddell around 255,Ang Mo Kio can take more than 540 buses,Bedok North can fit more than 525,Changi can accomodate more than 230 buses,Hougang can take more than 550..Havent include 550 for Loyang leh..
SMRTB on other hand,Woodlands depot can fit 310 buses,Woodlands Bus Park can squeeze 245 buses,Kranji 255 maximum,Ang Mo Kio only 170 max,If they win the tender then Bulim can accomodate around 500 odd buses..
Yishun Temporary Bus Interchange will open on 15 March 2015.
Jialat, we will see the DD collecting dust at WPDEP

When Yishun Bus Interchange opens, then re-deploy them back to Yishun routes, and re-deploy the old articulated buses again.
To be honest, if that is the case, almost one WLDEP svc will have min one DD whether it has BSEP or not to make better use of the DD rather than keep them SP

I support your point. For instance, WPDEP can upgrade SD slots on sv 187 to DD for the next two months. It can also use DDs on feeder services, replacing the rigids and try them out. This way capacity will get upgraded for 2 months and SMRT will really know from a real, practical use, what is the capacity needs for different services.
Better to experiment this way than just keep the buses in depots. Now it is already 3 months lying idle.

Bad bad bad planning. LTA should not have registered so many WEGs under BSEP. I have kept saying they should have let SMRT get it to upgrade sv 190. Even CBD service 106 has NO DD from SMRT side yet. Pity!

*E500
Wlbp somemore no roofing..might as well deploy first on 167,187,960 rather than feeders

Agreed. SMRT would have progressed further with their DDs if more were under SMRT's helms.
LTA has cream of the cock! So do SMRT with ex general as CEO
Road Announcements 4 Feb 2015
Commissioning of signalised pedestrian crossing at Yishun Central 1 near Northpoint Shopping Centre
To enhance road safety, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be commissioning the signalised pedestrian crossing at Yishun Central 1, near Northpoint Shopping Centre on Thursday, 05 February 2015 at 10.30am.
Please refer to the attached map for more details.
Motorists are advised to drive carefully when approaching the traffic signals and to observe the traffic signal indications. Auxiliary officers will be deployed at the location to guide motorists.
SMRT will never deploy those double decks on feeders. No point trying, their stand is already clear. And SBST feeders with DDs already serve as an example of how a DD works for a feeder service. If thats enough, there is already 1 DD on 964 - its a good enough trial. Also I dont think SMRT can just anyhow deploy those DDs on feeders because some routes might have sharp turns and theroute might have long hanging branches. Too much effort to solve these problems just for a trial.
And since LTA owns those buses, I dont think SMRT can anyhow just use also for other trunks, if not I would rather SMRT deploy them to 167,169, 187, 190, 980 or even do a trial on 180 which I think is DD friendly. Also 67 and 960, cant get DD's yet? I thot someone mentioned the trees along bt timah had already been trimmed!

Who said 67 and 960 cannot get DDs yet? I think these routes are ready and we should see DDs soon by mid of the month during the BSEP deployment round.
For those who still in doubt..For now they are focus solely on complain svc like 188,190,960,966 & 972 which had made several points on news..Till the remaining DDs and probably to persuade LTA to purchase the A95s,progress had been slowed down.964 is already one so called fail example,SMRT territorial passengers refuse to move up for a few stops..But i still believe those undeployed DDs will be for some Yishun and probably Sembawang service later. There is a few DDs parked at Wldep basement lots.
Yeah I meant 67 and 960 still cant deploy DDs? If can already then I guess BSEP will introduce on these 2 services soon. But I believe SMRT side will only focus on 960. 67 will probably only get BSEP. Actually when DTL open, 67 probably can just operate full SD for CCK to little india sector.
Even with DTL 67 will still be popular though doesnt need many high capacity buses..To operate full SDs in this island for svc like 67 is like commit suicide
1656 hrs: SMB136C parking inside the temp. int. with 1 unknown MK2, 3 Habit (TIB1022M, TIB1023K, 1 unknown), around 6 A22s (SMB3022C, SMB3065D, SMB3073E, 3 unknown) ...
Looks like under testing & ONP ...
Cones pasted with A4 papers written 1, 2, 3, 4, etc placed next to every buses ...
SMB5027B & SMB5031M on 960 trg, 960 BCs...
Add on SMB5028Z doing 67 route with some 67 BCs

It's high time for both svcs to break the record...
Hahaha,Hopefully the A95 orders went well too..

67 will still need high capacity buses even after DTL. It will be like 147. There will be other services that will lose a lot of pax.
