Originally posted by SMB3095S:Yishun temporary bus interchange looks so grand, cos it has many stalls. Altogether, it has 23 stalls, including 10 F&B and 13 shops. From what I know, it will open on weekends, either Saturday or Sunday. So, we randomly guess which date the temp will open.
13 or 14 Dec
20 or 21 Dec
27 or 28 Dec
So let's see whose guess will be correct when LTA will confirm the opening date.
Not this week. Still seeing workers doing some fittings on aerial work platform, plus the road gates still closed as of yesterday.
The temp. bus stops are still under construction.
Should be 15/12
Strange...from past records, SBS Transit will only announce the relocation of bus interchanges 2 to 7 days before the official commencement. Now why is SBS Transit doing it 2 weeks before the commencement date?
I got a feeling that Yishun Temp will open on 20 or 21 Dec. Not sure if they need to wait for the temp bus stop to finish first then it will open. For example, Bedok Temp Int was opened first then their bus stop had been built few weeks later. So far, who is interested to know the F&B outlets @ Yishun Temp Int?
I wonder if current ONP buses at Yishun still got space to park at the new temp Int?Look much smaller IMHO..SMRT cock up still awaiting LTA to sponsor new bus park at Yio Chu Kang ah?

Dont remeber any new stops being built for Bedok Temp Int. Only ones I know of is re-routing of 18 and one more stop for 9 and 35 to call at.

I got heard from people's opinion that Yishun Temp might delayed and will open by March 2015 due to the incompletion of their bus stops. But for me, March 2015 it's too way further. I think they will build temporary bus stops (orange stripes on roof and orange seats) which can took only few days or a week to complete it. If it's Jan next year, might be possible. I'm scared that all of the DDs will not be used for Yishun services since they say March 2015. By the time on March 2015, only a few dds will be left to deliver. Hope that LTA will open the yishun temp as soon as possible. I think they can open the Yishun Temp first while their bus stops are being constructed, so as to accomodate more dds for Yishun. Since their bus stops bays had been built, the duration of building two temporay bus stops will not be too long (at least 2 weeks), which is located before Yishun MRT and opp GV. Bedok Temp Int bus stop also use the orange one, and i heard that the bus stop are under construction while Bedok Temp had opened. Furthermore, the structure of the orange bus stop is simple and will took less tine to build it, so don't worry! Can't be if they build an actual permanent bus stop (grey colour), cos it's for temporary int.
Building a permanent bus stop (the one we normally see in grey colour) took 1-2 months to build, so that's where they all thought that Yishun Temp will open in Mar 2015.

BSEP has already kept around 20 ADLs spare to be used for Yishun services. If its opening only in March, that's so much waste of resources and bad planning. LTA should have instead let SMRT take in those DDs for fleet upgrade and registered BSEP ones as latter part of the batch.
You're right busanalyzer. It's consider a bad planning when Yishun Temp opens on March 2015. However, I just found out that the duration of constructing a temporary interchange should not exceed more than 8 months. If it's opening on Mar, means that the duration took 10 months, including 3 months extra to wait for the bus stop. Now, the bus stop have not even started constructing the structures. 3 months delay for the temp to open may sounds weird, cos other temps does not have this kind of situation before. Bedok Temp Int also want to have delays because their bus stop have not completed yet, but since it may took more than 8 months, they consider to open the Bedok Temp first while their bus stop is under construction. Yishun Temp might also open first, while waiting for the bus stop to complete.
Previously I went to northpoint to look at the northpoint city, and I asked their people of when the Yishun Temp will be completed. They said latest will be Jan next year, but should not be March onwards, cos they will start construction for Yishun Hub by Feb next year. They say the temp int is constructed and will open as soon as possible, so the project will start early

By the way,is it the same size as the old ones?If not theyre asking for trouble..

Buses started entering temp interchange for trial as early as Nov.. now its already two months.. maybe during the trial they found out some things were not right.
Sometimes better to wait, make all the changes right and then open. Only sad thing is how LTA has kept the DDs SP for now 2 months without giving it to any service. I find that really stupid - shouldn't SMRT have registered first and upgraded its sinking fleet.
when it going to open?
Wow! They really keep the Enviros SP for 2 months without giving them to any service? No wonder I see so many Enviros with registered buses that I never seen them on service at Woodlands Park Depot. Well, they are for Yishun btw.
Oh and also, the Yishun Temp looks like its going to open by this month I think since i see that they installed sign boards and services display. The entrances have also board display that might be for display as "Yishun" with the bus icon at the side.

I also strongly feel by 3rd/4th week this month Yishun int has to open... they can't just keep the buses lying down that way... its ridiculous when SMRT needs it so much.
why can't they just announce a target date?
i think the LTA already brought all the buses it suppose to buy. there is news about that all the 550 extra already delivered to the public. so maybe that why got many extra new buses in the depots?
