Hope 171 get extend to Sembawang and cut short to CCK
There is a bus stop (with bus bay) that could accommodate about 2-3 SDs, currently under construction opposite GV Yishun since Nov. It should be for Services 171, 804, 812, 856, 859 when current bus int. closed and temp. bus int. operates. (route amendment)
Edit:
Capacity: 3 SD, DD / 2 articulated buses
Status: Under construction; bus stop structure not built yet

all buses along Yishun ave 2 are going to be extemely crowded.
169, 858, 965, 969 - you can expect the load on them to increase heavily. 856/859 will leave interchange relatively empty as ppl have other options from ave 2.
For feeders/intratowns, ppl will not have option but to walk.
Those living along ave 9 might as well walk than take bus from interchange, but many could choose on their way home to take 811 from ave 5 MRT stop, even if it is little long winding.
With opening of this interchange far from MRT, loading patterns definitely going to change on many services.
Bopian mah. The areas near Yishun's town centre lack space. The current site planned for the temporary bus interchange is like the closest to the town centre alr.

Ok that is good. I now remember in the initial post on Yishun interchange, the press release did mention of a new bus stop.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:Apart from what 9256X said, I am confident sv 860 will get DDs... it is in major need of high capacity buses... since it is under BSEP... it won't be given bendies... so 860 will get DDs. Also, looking at the number of new BTOs along the route, loading will only increase.

What do you want? A24?
there's also a new bus stop being built opposite the current yishun interchange entrance. i guess its for bus services like 851 852 854 that have to turn right and there would be a 'B' light for the traffic light that's just right after the new bus stop that is before the current bus stop at yishun mrt.

Its not what i want its what SMRT want..

Would be good... but doubtful... coz it will lose link between Petir road and Upper Bukit Timah until Cashew, where 75/184 join...
This would be short-sighted coz not many pax will alight on those 3 stops... and can change to other services... i support 171 to operate between CCK and Yishun and possibly can do Yew Tee too,.

Your suggestion has 12 buses... not needed... 8 buses is okay.... 5 DDS/ 3 MANs

Follow 189 style,Cut 171 then introduced a new svc to Marina Ctr..Hahaha
While much of the discussion so far has been on SMRT services for the new Yishun temp Int, I'm kind of looking forward to Sv 39 getting DDs with the opening of the new Int (as what BusAnalyzer had pointed out in previous page).
I just hope they don't put DDs for Sv 39 all on the S-Shift slots. Will be interesting to see if they cut any slots when they start putting DDs on Sv 39 or just a one-for-one.
Yishun Temporary will open in December. Tender for stalls at the interchange have been closed on 3 October, so means that when the stalls are available on Dec 2014, means that the whole Int will open too.
Services that need DD
171, 851, 852, 853(maybe), 854, 855, 857
For 851 and 855, maybe WPDEP can take control of their DDs while the rest will be AMDEP.
860 should also have DD cos it is a trunk service and it is under BSEP. Bendies cannot deploy 860 cos it is BSEP.
I also got saw from Wiki that all MAN A24s will be under AMDEP. Is it true??
dunno

AMDEP is unable to accept any double decks due to height restrictions and i dont think the deployments for MAN A24s are confirmed, nobody publicly konws

171/852/853 need 0 DDs.
I think under BSEP 854, 855, 857 will receive.
I don't think SMRT is still ready to give 851 DDs.

Would make sense for AMDEP to take in all the A24s... coz the other depots are getting DDs.
One time I got saw SBS Volvo B9TL entering Yishun Temporary Bus Interchange. Looks like they are doing testing if service 39 suits for double decker. Besides that, there are also Enviros there doing testing at Yishun Temporary. I think it's already time for Yishun services to have DD, cos many Yishun services get too overcrowded. Woodlands got already so many DD services, 169, 963, 965, 966 and 969 so it's time for Yishun to get DD. If not, it will be unfair if Yishun does not have DD while the rest of the towns have DDs.
Since if MAN A24s are all under AMDEP, means that Yishun feeders will get MAN A24s too. This is because many Hispano Habit articulated buses from AMDEP have technical problems and often got spoil easily. That's where many Yishun feeders use rigid buses since there are not enough articulated buses. Especially 804. 812 need MAN A24s because they have shortage buses.
Rigid buses that deploy Yishun feeders
800 - SMB167M, SMB3023A, SMB3065D
804 - SMB3020H, SMB3059Y, SMB3076Y, SMB3095S
806 - SMB221P, SMB3073E
812 - SMB1491L
There are also non WAB buses that deploy these services but don't know the plate number.
803 only use 3 buses so it's ok to use rigid buses.
811 is WAB is under WLDEP so MAN A24 could not deploy this service.
Sorry its non WAB rigid buses

A24 is WAB.

Yishun will surely get DDs. Very soon!
I suspect from SBST side 39 will get around 4-5... and 1 from BSEP. sv 85 will not get any.
From BSEP side, we said it will be 854, 855, 856, 857 - all will have their SD slot converted to DD on BSEP. 860 will also get IMO (though some feel it won't). From SMRT side, I think they are still not prepared to give Yishun as they want to finish quota on 188/190/963 services.
On feeders, 804/806/812 need to be full fleet bendy... no rigids please!! Can't take the load at all.
800/803 is okay with rigids
811 is okay with mix of rigids and bendies.
Yishun temporary bus interchange looks so grand, cos it has many stalls. Altogether, it has 23 stalls, including 10 F&B and 13 shops. From what I know, it will open on weekends, either Saturday or Sunday. So, we randomly guess which date the temp will open.
13 or 14 Dec
20 or 21 Dec
27 or 28 Dec
So let's see whose guess will be correct when LTA will confirm the opening date.
But is it as big as the former ones?Hope they learn from Bedok error...851 might just be Wldep/Amdep to accomodate DDs..15 duties to them is more than enough with 8 DD slots..
Really hope that Wldep took over Yishun until Amdep expand their operation
171:Wldep 15 duties Amdep 8 duties
Yishun feeders/Intratowns:All Wldep
851:Wldep 15 duties / Amdep 12 duties
852:Wldep 10 duties / Budep 4 duties
853:Full Amdep start from Lor 1 is preferred
854:Wldep 15 duties / Amdep 10 duties
855:Wldep 13 duties / Budep 4 duties
856:Wldep
857:Wldep 13 duties / Amdep 5 duties
860:Wldep
Amdep can minor control svc like 75,190,858,960,965,966 & 970 to support operations

should be 20/21 Dec since no news up yet... I think LTA would want to give at least 10 day notice to ppl to explain and digest change of interchange.
Why 39 cannot have all S split DDs?The loadings have dropped during off peak due to slow driving at TPE which ppl prefer to take 965 or 969..39 full loadings only come during peak hours..
