990: Reminds me of 116 by connecting 2 towns, but hopefully will be more successful. Good links between Toh guan and BB Int/MRT, and between BB East Ave 6 and JE MRT.
43M, 17A: continuing the trend of these M svcs/ full day shortworking trips. Would have expected 17A to be renumbered to 17M, but maybe this is to avoid confusion since it's an existing SWT.
201, 189: Surprised to see LTA splitting up 189, especially since it's not a very long route. Good move nonetheless, since most ppl don't travel between west coast and bt batok. I like the use of AYE to connect Penjuru Rd/ Pandan Gdns/ Teban Gdns to Clementi MRT (201) and to connect Clementi Ave 1 to Clementi MRT (189).
Actually LTA announced 5 bus svcs in bt batok, jurong east, west coast, kallang and changi, but there's 1 svc for west coast (201) and 1 svc for both bt batok and jurong east (990), so does that mean there could be another bus svc for one of these areas?
43M is one of the best "M" Services introduced. There is bi-directional load between Buangkok and Serangoon... Also with higher occupancy at Buangkok Vale BTO now... you can see 43A in AM getting full at Buangkok Green itself.

990 loading will definitely be better than 116 (any day!!!)
It will take 333 load from IMM to JE for sure as it is now the quickest way to reach Jurong MRT. Also, can expect full buses bet BBT East Ave 6 and BBT MRT. So think the bus will do well.
189 can also expect good loading from Clementi Ave 1.
201 route is interesting... Have to observe and see how ppl start using this. Do you think ppl living in BTOs on Penjuru will prefer 201 to Clementi than 78/79 to Jurong? 201 I guess will be BBDEP controlled. Let's see if it gets WEGs.

Why should it be during NEL disruption? It is a board for IMH... where commuters nevertheless will have to take bus service either from Serangoon/Hougang or Buangkok.

My thought is that, why would they need to place a signboard when everyone knows that service 43 goes to IMH in the first place? I guess it would only be because during NEL disruption, there may be a need to separate the boarding areas of the bus stop (one for shuttle service and one for public bus services). I may not understand about how are the signboards placed at bus stops outside NEL stations affected due to NEL disruption, but I guess this should be the case...

And for 990 I said the same thing.. So I don't know why you bolded the "does not" part...?
Apparently some people read it as it does..so just re-enforcing the point again :)

Hi mr 201911, smrt 990 is considered for bukit batok only. There should be 1 more for jurong east coming up. Remember they say the parcel of 26 services (24 current services plus 2 more new ones) is to be tendered out in the first tender. Cheers.

Hi mr Gus.chong, the sign is not placed during NEL disruption. It is a permanent sign which I saw before. I forgot where I saw it. Next time I see it, I will type here immediately. Cheers.

My guess is this sign should be posted at Buangkok MRT... considering it is the closest, and also need to encourage more ppl to use Buangkok... than everyone flocking to Serangoon.

So out of 5 bus services to be introduced...
1. Bukit Batok - done
2. West Coast - done
3. Loyang/Changi - next?
4. Kallang -
5. Jurong East
Surprise additions (not in press release)
1. Clementi - 189
2. NEL/YCK corridor - 43M
3. Bedok North - 17A

Done for Jurong East...
While I'm excited for new additions, I was pretty disappointed there weren't any long haul and express routes introduced. Guess I shouldn't have had high expectations for BSEP after all.

There are still more than 40-50 bus services left to be introduced...at least you can try to expect some more to be long haul...

Supplementary services (like 43M, 17A) are not considered as new services, so they are not in the press release. (The map for Q3 2014 also put 139M as enhancement to existing services, not new service.) And 189 is not a BSEP amendment.
Originally posted by Gus.chong:Done for Jurong East...
If the new BSEP service for Jurong East is sv 990, there will only be 4 new services, not 5.

I lost hope few months back when I saw how routes like 324 were launched.. and only M and P services.
I also have expressed my frustration.. that this is stupid and wrong to not have longer services.. that will encourage ppl to take bus from point to point rather than crowding on MRTs or take car.
324 for me is disaster. Could have easily been extended to Seletar/Fernvale area via Buangkok MRT.
At least this round services are a little better. There is some uniqueness to both 990 and 201... so I am not highly disappointed. Even 43M is a good introduction, which really needed more buses.

slowly, the new batch of route plannings are learning stage by stage, who knows? maybe 513-style will be back

That's what I want to say to array...just take it as there are 2 new services plying two areas each...
think 119 DDs would be transferred to 43M and replaced by BSEP citaros?
Originally posted by SBS5010P:think 119 DDs would be transferred to 43M and replaced by BSEP citaros?
That would be wise, but highly unlikely considering there are so many SP BSEP WEGs. I don't see why they will take them out of 119, when they have not done so when there were limited BSEP WEGs available.
wow
came back from 2 weeks holiday got new changes? haha
990: good route though. faster to IMM from JE. good link to provide for BB east ave 6
not sure if this relives other services but i would say that it just to provide new links
201: this one ar... very unique. i like the part that they go AYE. most probably this route is for teban/pandan residents to go clementi & sort of relieve route 78?
43M: good idea!!! both directions heavy load
17A: no comment though as i rarely go there but what i heard is it revive backs the old 227?
amendment of 49: 3 new bus-stops? cool. i alrdy expect that though coz no point pass by after starting from terminal but never call the bus-stops but finally it did! but what i didnt expect is the return leg haha
amendment of 189: very good news for clementi ave 1 residents. finally, something for them.
er, wheres the jurong east route? or is it part of 990?
coz 990 is one of the 2 newly-annouced services that will be part of the 1st bus package thingy. there should be one more
