Would rather 41 be numbered as 336 since it's from JE Int and 49 as 244 since there are 240 & 246 in the area...
Yes... even I don't understand why they are numbering so randomly.. 49 was still okay given 51 plies to JE... but 41 at Geylang would have made more sense... and 140 at JE. Anyone has insights why such random numbering?

Would have been better to go via IMM and the new hospital complex or Jurong East st 21. Surprised no buses ply Jurong east st 21. Road doesn't seem that narrow but cannot do DDs I guess.
41, a copy of 183 & 77/173... that's it...

Hmm... For me, if 49 were to intro, it should have been somewhere close to 4x vacinities...
Something I have realised long ago is route numbering always has this rule, that is to somehow able to have a link to the numbers along the route, starting/ending/looping point... Exceptional to special services...

Is 201 a feeder service? If not, then something is wrong as 2xx and 3xx services are feeder services.

Ofcourse its not. Connects Kent ridge, West Coast, Clementi, Teban.... but I know the numbering system is getting more and more screwed.
Maybe that is the strategy - don't worry about the bus number... it can be anything... just bother what route it goes.

20x/21x is under trunk, until 218 (219 is current day 229)
35/35M - Reminds me of old 39x Changi services. If they can do Tanah Merah loop twice, they should do Alps loop twice, then extend to Changi Village. At least Changi Ferry now got nearer bus stop. During airshow, probably will have extra trips. Regarding DDs, not sure if Ferry Terminal can u-turn or not, but will be good if possible
41 - What is with the numbering. It looks like it is meant to support 183 and connect Toh Tuck with JE. Something tells me that it may end up as a quick way to NP (Service don't ply Clementi and stops at Beauty World MRT, which is walking distance to NP)
140 - A bit short, but good enough. Feels like it could do if it merged with 141 and give it R/W plates to ply St Micheal in both directions.

I agree - should have merged 141 and 140 but then you know right... they have to also meet their # of services introduced quota. If you see, sv 35 is also counted as service under BSEP making it 36th service.
They need 4 more services to complete their quota of 40 services promised by 2014.
My Goodness,No bus svc you all kpkb wanna bus svc,Got bus svc also complain why this and that..Wahlao eh friend,No wonder we are labelled as a grumpy nation let alone complain kings and queens
when is cck/yewtee turn coming?? still no news though there should be a 301 coming up for the new flats at ave 6...

got rumour say LTA juz suka suka plan routes juz to fulfill the yearly quota leh.. not sure if this is true. 41 shud better off be renamed 331
35 shud be getting 2-3 more additional buses for the extension of 8km, extra 16km with both directions. Considering that 35 has 5 buses for it's old 17km route, 35 might get DDs considering the fact that most of the BSEP extension/routes has DD upgrades eg. 119. So 35's new route would be 33km?

35 should get DDs considering if Alps shuttle is getting shut, then AM/PM peak, you can expect huge office crowd from Alps as well as Xillin Ave. This will warrant DDs.
Anyway, AM peak you can already spot sv 35 buses carrying 55-60 pax at Tanah Merah MRT.. This means current buses have only 10-15 pax capacity. Hence, will either need DDs or 3-4 SDs. I would prefer, it gets 2 DDs from BSEP.
Oh LTA just introduces 2 new services (sbs 41, sbs 140) plus 1 extended route (sbs 35, 35M). Looking at the trend, all are short trunk routes. This should convince everybody that the so called mid-long haul trunk services are no longer introduced. They are only aiming to plug those roads and those current/ new estates without a link to the mrt station or a nearby town centre. They are providing more convenience to areas which have poor links to mode of transports. Looking at it on a broader sense, it seems a plausible choice. Cheers.

Hi mr busanalyser, normally they will not stick to the schedule exactly. Give them +2 months from end 2014 committed. Since 36 services are introduced already, the next 4 should be the ones from CCK, yishun, sengkang and Punggol which are already made known to public. Expected announcement should be in 1st week of January 2015 after Christmas/new year holidays. Normally they give out news about the next few upcoming areas earlier. Cheers.
140 route a bit of jam prone areas..Wonder why LTA dun wanna utilise Sims Place?

LTA already say before in their press release mah... i cut and paste for you..
Better connectivity with new bus services

36 services introduce include 10 CDS and does not include those "M" or "A/B" service.
i feel they should introduce more trunk services in the mould of 50, its extremely popular and if the routes are well-planned they would be a massive hit just like 50. also no more express services to be introduced?
and if it is true that LTA suka suka plan route just to fulfil quotas then it is not only a serious misuse of taxpayers dollars but also limited resources. i can think of a few poorly planned routes off my head IMO such as 116 and even 990 that are usually running empty. even the effectiveness of 859A and 859B is questionable as most of the time i see them running empty, although off peak but even so 859 is still crowded. maybe BSEP should also include further small scale rationalization, not simply introducing more SWTs and routes that turn out to be duds.

I think 41 is introduced to relieve the load on sv 183 which is so crowded during peak hours and even 183B is not helping much to relieve the queues.
But what a waste it would be if sv 41 cannot accommodate DDs. I hope it does.
i think 41 will relieve 183 & 154(since it's somehow near NP)
the question is... is toh tuck rd DD friendly?
140 seems to be numbered at GL1 for the pure reason that 141 terminates there, hence the "14X" number range.

35's route length got doubled.... even though only 5 extra stops.
If planned properly, it could be an express varient of 9 (no one takes 9 from TM to CACC though)
140 more like feeder bus service for people working and living at Kallang. Should renumber to a feeder service will be better like 239? and fix at feeder bus rate. a lot of old people will take the bus service.
